That was beautiful. I love the music and I love the troll girl. I love that the nun, although initially startled by the unusual appearance of the baby left on her doorstep, quickly warms up to her as she's still a baby in need of warmth and a home.
To the nun, the troll girl was one of God’s creations. And not a descendant of the dark creatures who found no refugee on the Ark. That’s what I think she would think. I may be baptized but I’m more open minded. Basically if I see a child regardless of what species be human, troll, or other wise I care for it. Being an infant she is neither good nor evil it’s more on the upbringing that molds them.

Yeah because my late aunt was a nun for over 50 years and she was one of the best people I ever knew. I still to this day have a lot of respect for nuns even after I went from Catholic to Protestant. She stood by me and I was glad to have known her. She was principal of a Catholic school in Valley Stream NY and has that street named after her. She left behind a great legacy. I just don't understand why people make out all nuns to be harsh and evil. Most of them just want to help others and do the right thing while expecting nothing in return.
@@TheNijikazegirl I'd say it's mostly because they were people's first introduction to extremists, so even if most were loving and kind people, many were scarred by the impressions they had of them. Plus, the awful ones tended to stick closely together.
most nuns are genuinely terrible people who actively uphold an awful, harmful institution & ideology through their profession. it's not a wonder that people would tend to see them badly. a fantasy nun in a fantasy world with magic and monsters is obviously different, lol.
Hundreds of years ago when the story takes place this was sometimes the only life for a woman who did not want to marry and be a mother or wished to be a scholar or pursue music or any other sort of life in this culture. In some orders there was more independence.
I believe the blue flame was meant to keep the evil creatures at bay. If the troll girl can use it without burning herself then she was meant to be a guardian of that town.
I would disagree. That means she would owe protection to the town, but she doesn’t. She’s just a child. The town should be responsible for protecting her, not the other way around. Stoning is deadly. They had every intention at multiple points of not just letting her die but actively killing her. When her guardian is gone, she will have nothing to hold her there.
I think the blue flame is the guardian of the town as it shows some sentients and her being able to touch it is because the flame accepts her as a part of the town
Eu acho que deveria virar uma série animada. Com uma temporada completa, explorando o passado da garota troll, e esse mundo que foi tão pouco desenvolvido... Concordam?
This needs to blow up so bad. The way you animated the little troll baby, with the little baby sounds, had me start tearing up and crying out of nowhere. And seeing the little girl being ostracized, and the anxiety and confusion when her nun mother disappeared, looking around what’s familiar for her, like some kind of spacial impermanence. I often think of how sweet innocent children had to handle and deal with being mistreated through human history for being different. A lot of our outlooks change with culture, but childhood is one of those experiences I feel unite our species regardless of time.
When society has decided you're a monster, you don't have the luxury of being human. No more temper. No more being petty or distancing yourself from the people that hate you. Once society decides you're a monster, you either become a saint to fit in or let yourself become what they think you are.
No matter how many people tell you who you are or what are you suppose to be..... It's only you who can say your worth and what you're capable of doing.
Ultimately, it can’t just be your friends or family telling you that you are important, you have to realize you are important, too. But it does help to know that you are loved ❤
What a beautiful short film! The Troll Girl’s design kind of reminds me of a Trollhunters character, and I feel like even though not a word is spoken I know so much about her & her adoptive mother.
For some reason, I sense a Puss in Boots and a little bit of Quasimodo vibe from this. In a good way, the motherly nun takes in the troll girl and she sees her as a precious child despite her appearance. It’s never easy being different in a world that’s black and white. I’m glad that they’re people who supported the troll girl and her mother. Bless those ladies.
Sweet story!! Beautiful!! I love the nun too! ❤️ so often nuns are depicted poorly and unhuman in secular culture or presentations. All the nuns I know have been so kind like this one! truly appreciated! Thank you! 🙏🏻
Yeah, I studied in Catholic Schools and indeed, there are very good nuns that I think would make better Moms than some out there... Sadly, media only concentrate on the bad ones....
Ahh, the Classic tale of Someone who is Different and because they are Different, they are rejected by almost everyone, but then they use their differences to help solve a problem and then everyone accepts them. A classic trope for many stories.
Magnificent and extraordinary story of a trollish child raised by a kind nun in the human village. The girl has a special ability to control blue fire with her own hands and transform to her enormous size when she gets angry. I love it. Magic, excitement and adventure. Creatures like this troll girl deserves respect from all of the world and be treated as equals the way we humans do for one another.
Such a great variety of characters. Even if we only know most of them by the facial expressions and small deeds, it's those small touches that make this simple, familiar tale all the more richer. And the main character and her chief supporter take center stage by going the extra miles to take care of each other.
This short movie is so touching that it made me cry. It's ironic that the villagers treated her like that just because she's different from them, then when she saved them, some of them attempted to make her leave the village. How unreasonable can they even be! Good thing that there are some of them realized their mistakes and changed for the better. 😊
We all have to see ourselves in a positive light, regardless of what the world thinks, and I love how the troll girl comes to realize that after she saves her nun-mother and goes back home ❤
The nun is that girls mother because she loves her for her. And when the townsfolk saw how she didn't hurt them they show support. The people who didn't might need time
You noticed it's the old women of the village who defend the relationship of the Nun with her child in a manner of speaking because they understand the truth of it which the others do not.
There’s so many interesting questions left unanswered. why did the little fireball things like her? Who is that parent looking after her? What is that parent? Eeek I like it.
Love the story and man the kindness one shows to someone who doesn't look at appearances and the dark side of those who doe judge others for that.....while they will hurt you, know there are many people who care about you and wont judge you they are out there❤
