funny thing is my dog will do something like that. she'll go up to the cats eating, sit there a moment, they'll look at each-other, and then the cat will back up, and she'll take a bite of kitty kibble, and then leave. and like, she's not supposed to eat the kitty kibble, but how am I supposed to scold a puppy when she asked so nicely? and weirdly the cats will do the same with the dogs, its very odd, but I guess it's nice that they are polite and get along so well? its just weird to watch...
@@jamiek8123 It’s always fascinating when they understand what each other wants without making a single noise. My mastiff does the exact opposite when she wants something, my golden retriever will just be laying in her bed taking a nice ol’ nap, and then the mastiff stands over her intimidatingly, which causes the gold retriever to walk away in shame and the mastiff steals the bed. The last part of charlie as a ghost has touched my heart and made me think about the idea of seeing the spirits of our pets that we have taken care of visit us one last time, just so we can see how they're doing. R.I.P. charlie
My childhood dog used to just sit and stare at you whenever she wanted something so now I can laugh imagining her STILL staring at my family members expecting them to feed her XD
Honestly teared up when Charlie’s soul materialized at the end. I love how it was included in there! It me think of my late standard poodle, Layla. I would burn society to see her squeak her Toy Story alien again.
It made me think of our late border collie-husky named Dragon. I'd share some moments about her but considering that she finally passed in 2022, I’d probably start bawling (mostly cause I watched this episode so soon)
5:20, I actually worked at a Veterinary Clinic for about two months, and dogs howling/barking/screaming coming out of anesthesia was quite common. In the short time I was there, Poodles were the worst coming out of surgery. Whether it was screaming or flailing or both, they were almost always out of control. Sounds like Charlie was one of the easier ones.
The part where Charlie's ghost appeared at the end made me cry. It reminded me of one time when I was watching TV with my mom, when I felt the air shift. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I see the silhouette of a wiener dog, lying alongside my mom's lap. I quickly look over to find exactly that, my old dog Izzy who has passed just a year earlier, looking at me with loving eyes waiting for a treat. Within the second I looked at her, she faded away-almost like they do in movies-and it seemed as though she blended perfectly with her portrait tattooed on my mom's arm. The whole thing felt as though she was really there in her usual spot on my mom's lap, snuggled under the covers, watching TV with us. I am crying just thinking about her, we truly don't deserve these animals and it is a true shame their time on this Earth is so short. So I want to thank you for sharing Charlie's legacy with us, he seemed like a good pup!
Cool story, WE lost our Cavalier, Rascal back in may. We still hold onto his ashes in a box and let me mum hug it. Knowing that he'll never be forgotten.:) So I know the feeling.
My basset hound died while I was stationed overseas a week before I was supposed to go home on leave and I definitely felt it. He was the best boi ever.
I live in Alabama and before that, Louisiana. I absolutely felt that accent 😂 (though I don't have a southern accent, despite being in the south most of my life).
Charlie may have been a mence, but he still sounds like he was the best boy. I love how he would ask for permission to eat treats, AFTER he just stole them. So smart.😂
I'm a simple man. I see a dog cartoon, I watch it. It's just science. I got a dog similar to that now, a basset hound/rottweiler mix. Same size as a basset hound, but all the strength of a rott. He's a quick little dog, but I love him to pieces.
Oh no, a basset hound cross rottie sounds like one tricky breed! I have a Kelpie cross rottie. He is massive, cuddly, but when he wants something he'll take it regardless of the rules 😂
THAT ENDING ALMOST MADE ME CRY!! Mostly cause I recently lost my sweet Azrael. He was little brat for a cat but he was a sweetie. I hope you share more of Charlie in the future
5:40 When my cat got back from being neutered (14yrs ago) the vets told my mother that he was the loudest cat that they had ever seen. He was constantly yelling and howling. Makes sense because I ended up shutting my door at night because of him and his brilliant idea of standing on my chest and screaming at me. Love you, Scamp.
I love your design for Charlie, especially the giant nose. It reminds me of those dog plushies from the early 2000s based on fish-eye lens photos of real dogs.

1. Please keep making more of these talking about Charlie, I'm a sucker for dog stories. 2. My family also had a Basset Hound! His name was Sammy, and we got him when when I was around 14 (I'm 37, for context). He was between 4 to 7 years old when we got him, as he was a stray that lived in the town I went to school at, but everyone in town loved him and fed him when they could, so he never wanted for food. Sometimes he would get forgetful and wander off into the woods for days, only to return on his own time like he never left. Sadly, we only had him for about four years as he passed near the end of my senior year of high school, but he was a good dog. I miss his droopy face.
That position where he's laying with is legs splayed out behind him is called splooting. My uncle's British lab would lay like that all the time, she even used that position to crawl through the Chihuahua sized doggy door 😂
That part where Charlie is staring off into space really gave me a good laugh. Dogs are the freaking best! I love my two special girls to the moon and back.

Yes please! More puppy stories. I’ll trade you! My family adopted a 5 year old cocker spaniel mutt. He was a very good boy, but a naughty dog. She looked around trying to figure out what happened when she noticed him creeping toward the stairs with the loaf in his mouth. “Sparky!” He looked back guiltily for one moment, then booked it for his kennel reasoning that if he made it then she couldn’t take it away.

I've had a Basset Hound for most of my life (just got my third after my second passed at 12), and they really are characters. They are SO GOOD at getting into trouble 😂
"Oh my god. Is that my peanut butter?!" Ding. Priceless, has ne up in stiches laughing because this reminds me of my familial Mastiff would would probably do the same thing.😂

the way Charlie is drawn and animated is so adorable!! ALSO THE BISEXUAL SOCKS ARE FIRE
I didn't know she was bisexual . Thats cool.
@@camerondalton1495 I don't think she is
@@ReckrekI mean, she gave a heart to another comment that pointed it out so that's probably the intended message
@@Reckrek Thanks for the clarification.

Mind if I ask what do you think about Jesus?
@@kjmario 0/10 Reason? Not a dog and he was being like REALLY obvious about it. At least put on a fur suit dude! Anubis knew what was up.
@@neoneanderthal2658bro what-
Having a pet like that who is so smart it's almost ridiculous, but they use that intelligence in little gremlin or ridiculous ways, you know you're in for a treat. I couldn't stop smiling when hearing these stories. Thanks for the daily dose of happiness, Becca!
I WANT MORE CHARLIE CONTENT!!! Reason: You tell it super well and he is super adorable.
3:47 “. . . omg, IS THAT MY OENUT BUTTER!?!?” 😂
The country accent is what makes it funnier. 😂
Yes, yes it is
Best part of the vid
Dog’s favorite treat of all time

7:05 WHY IS THETE A BITE OUT OF THE VIOLIN😭😭
I would’ve never noticed that until you said that
IT’S CHOCOLATE
Violins are good for fiber
Source? Trust me bro
I've had a Basset Hound for most of my life (just got my third after my second passed at 12), and they really are characters. They are SO GOOD at getting into trouble 😂
The "Superman" pose is what my mom loves to call "the frog dog". Apparently, it is the standard laying down form for miniature schnauzers
My family calls it stupid legs 😂
Omg if you're gonna have charlie as a ghost as your animal sidekick that'd be so cute! Keeping your pets memory alive through your art
When Charlie was staring into space, I think he must’ve gotten hypnotized when he looks at a vegetable. He goes nuts.
"Oh my god. Is that my peanut butter?!" Ding. Priceless, has ne up in stiches laughing because this reminds me of my familial Mastiff would would probably do the same thing.😂
I love your drawing of Charlie. The big nose!!! It’s clear you loved him very much!!! Please give us more stories about Charlie!!!
Oh yay more Charlie
Also the peanut butter thing reminds me of my nephew. He’s 3 and constantly leads us to get cookies and other treats for him when he knows we will not
Seeing Charlie drawn in Rebecca’s style gives me immensurable joy that I can’t describe
7:53 i just love the title psychadelic artist 😂
