I've seen soccer moms, class moms but first time a fleet mom. What a great and proud Mom and Dad on the deck, so overwhelming. Thanks for sharing this.
As a retired Marine Corps avionics chief, I totally agree. Great video, "See Ya!" It made my heart swell and eyes well up, on this 249th birthday of the US Marine Corps. Thanks so much to all of you who made this happen. I joined 49 years ago. Wow it still looks also familiar in today's Navy. Ooh Rah, America! I know I’m not a U.S. citizen and I’ll never have the chance to stand on an aircraft carrier. Maybe it’s for the best, because I wouldn’t be able to see anything through tears of joy. Amazing movie. Greetings from Poland!
The Navy does tours for groups but you would need to find one of the groups that's going. Alternatively you can visit the museum ships if you ever come to the US.
As a 33-year military man, now retired, I owe my career to my VIP's, AKA, mom & dad. So, I thank my parents for all their support and life lessons which served me well. I wouldn't have made through my career without them always encouraging me and pushing me. Thanks mom and RIP, dad I owe you more than you'll ever know. Semper Fi
As the 40th employee of Grumman, my pop worked on the J2F “Duck” which was likely the closest thing to a COD the Navy had in the 1930s. He eventually rose to become Plant Superintendent at Calverton, N.Y.. When then Blue Angels took delivery of the F11F in 8:03 the mid 1950s, he was made an honorary “Blue”.
My first job after college was working on the reactivation of the USS Wisconsin. I got to take my dad with me on it for "Family Day" before commissioning in 1988. One of the best and most satisfying things I've ever done. When I saw you did this I knew I'd watch this video and hit the LIKE Button. Thanks and thanks for doing that for your mom !
USS NEW JERSEY restoration volunteer here. Thanks for your role in having All the Iowas live on to tell their stories today and for future generations. Yesterday when leaving the ship it occurred to me that weve probably had about 4x the number of encampment guests as there were active crew members in her 4 active periods. ALL who have been part of these ships past are a part of the reason they are relevant today.
Watching this on Veteran's Day (also my birthday) and _could not be prouder_ of you, your parents, everyone on that carrier, and all service members, past, present, and future. Go Navy! _GO AMERICA!_
Mr Rob Roy, 100% payback for having great parents. A great back story to their reward going to sea with you. Well deserved. Stay safe on your travels and thank you.
Bro, I’ve been following your channel for quite some time. Not only do you have one of THEE best naval aviation channels on here but this video, by far, has to be the best one you’ve put out. Seeing your mom on the LSO platform barely paying attention to the jets coming in for a landing. She was too busy beaming that giant smile at you. They must be so proud and this is probably the best gift you could have given them. Not that it needs to be said but you’re one lucky kid to have such supportive parents and they equally lucky to have you as a kid. Great job man 🤙
Dude! I am literally getting misty eyed watching your parents and listening to your narration. Such an incredible gift to your parents and your followers on TH-cam. Amazing!
Best. Video. Ever. I'm a parent & there's nothing greater than seeing your children succeed and become a great person. Great parents. They are very proud of you. (I'm not crying, I have something in my eye!)
Your parents must really proud of you , congrats mate on your succesful career. My father is a retired Master Chief Petty Officer (O9) in Turkish Navy and he did everything to support my dream to become a naval aviator which is becoming a Seahawk pilot but I couldn't fullfill it because of the several reason but height was the number 1 issue. I am 6'7. Now I'm doing my best to somehow earn a green card and eventually a citizenship and complete my dream in US Navy. I hope people doesn't see this or understand this comment wrong I just wanted to share my life. Have a great day and FLY NAVY!
Go Luck. Also a Master Chiefs Son, USN, with my own 30yrs to look back upon. 6’7” in a SeaHawk. . . Yeah, that’s a hard one. Cheers and Best of Luck into your future.
@@johngross8300I talked to some Blackhawk and Apache pilots they said that only a sitting and sitting eye height is most important. I’m fitting those numbers but that’s the Army not Navy so I’m hoping that it’s the same way for the Navy. Worst case scenario I will serve as anything besides aviation.
If you get your green card, there are a few aviation opportunities in the military for someone your height if that's your only issue. Tons more on the civilian side too.
Rob, you are the GOAT! This by far the best way to thank your parents for always believing in you and all the support that helped you what you are now.

How awesome to have your parents onboard. I did get COD'd off in the Mediterranean in 1973, USS Independence. Going home for good! Something that I and your parents will never forget. Wish I could have experienced a trap though. I can tell you're very proud to be their son and thankful for all they did for you and your career. We need more parents and their children like this. Thank you for your service and thank you to your parents for making the sacrifices to make this happen.
That was bloody awesome mate! As a parent, I felt so proud of you looking after your Mum and Dad like that. It's obvious you appreciate everything they've done for you. I'm sure your parents don't expect thanks for all their efforts for you but I'm sure they loved the appreciation.

Talk of deserving parents. Your mom and dad are super parents and adoptive parents of several thousand MidShipmen as well. It's great that you were able to get permission to fly them in during active maneuvers out at sea so they could see EXACTLY how much fun you get to have and get paid for it too.
Grey hound is amazing, you are awesome my friend, and you have a lovely family, my dad died 3 months ago (lung cancer) he didint know, he lived 3 days after he's diagnosis, i was with him when he's heart gave out, i wish he would be still here.
I was in the RCAC (Royal Canadian Air Cadets) and I remember seeing the USS Harry S. Truman docked at Norfolk Naval Base. We were on a tour of the USS Enterprise and an "unnamed" nuclear sub a few piers over. I think it was the summer of 2000 around July 4th, we got to see the fireworks at a nearby beach. Those were some awesome experiences I'll never forget, even got to touch an ICBM and nuclear reactor! A minor aside, while on that trip we stayed in some of the barracks on the base and some older Cadets ofc liked to run amok and mess with the younger ones after hours (flipping mattresses etc). So when we were allowed to stop by a mall for a bit, I popped into a toy store and bought a semi-auto spring-loaded 'toy' gun that shot little plastic bullet shaped pellets (barely BBs) with 2 extra fully loaded mags and I would hold it in my hand under my pillow. Needless to say, I slept soundly on that trip.
This is cool as hell, I know your parents are so proud of you. I hope they understand that for many of us, parents like this were OUR parents too when we were little. Your parents rock.

So cool to be able to take your parents onboard. I was lucky enough to take my Dad to sea on HMAS Sydney for a few days. He had an absolute blast. He passed away only a few years later, so I'm really grateful to have that memory. As a kid he wanted to join the Air Force but, having lost an eye to cancer at 9, he wasn't able to, so it was great for him to come and see what we do and experience life at sea.
Parents to the Navy, Parents to thousands. Very poetic seeing as those of us that have served, or are, serving, consider each other as brothers and sisters... Thank you for your service Rod Roy and thank you to your Parents service too.
Amazing. Thank you for your service and to your parents for supporting you and your colleagues all those years. My brother was an Air Force pilot and my parents were his greatest cheerleaders also.

Just.... Awesome !!! 2 wonderful parents, and a very grateful son. You can't get better than that ! Thank you for your service, and thank you to your parents for their service & sacrifices as well.
Great video. What a nice thing to do for your mom and dad. I was an SWO on the USS Observation Island. I got my dad on board as a VIP to watch a Polaris missile launch. I’m 84 years old now but the memory of how much my dad enjoyed that day still makes me emotional.
Thanks for your service sir. And a big thanks to your parents giving so much support back to those that are serving or have served. Please give them a shout out to them for me and I would have loved to shake their hands for all that they are doing and raising a fine man you have become. Plus I would not mind buying you a beer or two.
I am watching this with smile and my eyes literally full wet. It's really a special moment to be able to fully show your own parents what's all about and see their happy faces. Great footage! Really enjoyed that one!
Your parents are the epitome of Academy parents! My son is a NAR (Naval Academy Reject) and attended Norwich University instead, but the parents were just like your mom and dad, too. Even though my kid was 3,000 miles away, I know he has family now where ever he goes!

What amazing parents you have! No one deserved a DV ride than them! Way to go Rob!
Happy Veterans Day! I enjoy your videos. I am a Blue Star Mom, so it's nice to see another mom getting this great treat. I am living vicariously through her.
THAT WAS TOO COOL!!! You got some awesome parents dude. I've always dreamed of getting to do something like that, but your parents certainly deserved it. Thank you all for your sacrifices and service to the greatest country!
Just....
Rob, you truly made your parents very proud and gave them a gift so very few could. A very Happy Veterans Day to you!
Your Mum looked so proud of the other pilots as well. That bought a tear to my eye.
Thanks for your service sir.
And a big thanks to your parents giving so much support back to those that are serving or have served.
Please give them a shout out to them for me and I would have loved to shake their hands for all that they are doing and raising a fine man you have become.
Plus I would not mind buying you a beer or two.
As someone who is currently in ROTC, specifically Army, its awesome to see your parents get recognition for all the work they put in over the years!
Your parents are awesome!. Being a vet, I appreciate their support of our military.
Fantastic. Great to see your parents at your office. They must be so proud and their support of your community is admirable.
This is the best! I am a retired Rawhide and am glad your parents got the C2 experience before the C2 is retired for good!
