Thank you for taking time to do this for the police officer and putting the video together of his last day's ride.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I kept thinking...."Why am I so emotional right now?" Eventually it kind of hit me. There's something special about that final radio call when they retire from service. But more than that, I had a good friend who was a firefighter who suddenly died of a brain aneurysm, and during his funeral they did a final radio call for his number, and it was the most emotional part of the funeral for me. (And most others.) I can't think about that part of the funeral without getting emotional. So when they did this final radio call in the video, I believe subconsciously that emotion came back up quickly. I'm just glad this one was under much happier circumstances.
Congratulations on your Retirement Officer Inserra. You spent many years as a LEO & SRO Serving & Protecting your community. Thank you for your service. Thank you Matty for your Honor Flight for this officer. I'm sure it will be one he will remember.
We actually lost my old high school officer to a car crash and Dep definitely would’ve deserved this send off. One of the best cops I’ve ever met and he was known for making sure everyone was ok and not being a hard ass, especially since we were a very low income school. I wish he would’ve got to do something like this because I know even some alumni would have shown up to see him off. Rip Dep Bobby Howard, we didn’t forget how you treated us with compassion unlike so many others
I had a similar experience with my school's officer, Deputy Decker was his name. My school had a really big drug problem from weed all the way to heroine and he had to deal with all of it. He caught me coming into school high one time because I made the stupid decision of smoking across the street in my car and he just stopped me at the gate and said, "you need more eyedrops". He policed his way and I always admired that about him. Cancer unfortunately made him retire early during my junior year
@@derpmanfb Not trying to devalue your story in any way, and that officer sounds like a lovely man, but: I totally do stuff like that all the time. In a place with rampant drug use, you can sort of just make yourself seem like a wizard. Say vague things that hint towards what you mean. Say he'd said exactly that to you, but you weren't high. You'd just walk away thinking "Huh, need more eyedrops? What?" and forget about it.
Mattylp, you are definitely an asset to your community! Thank you for your help in making this officer’s final day as he retires! It’s a day he’ll never forget.
Reminds me vaguely of my own high school officer. He is the kindest, more compassionate guy you’ll meet. He had his last day on the job, and on the way to the station to retire his gear, an emergency call of an active shooter that was able to steal a police car from a downed officer downtown was called in. He decided to pick up the call, when he did not have to. He assisted chasing down the shooter, and helped take him down. He was shot multiple times, including once in the face. Luckily, he made a full recovery, and was marched through the school being praised by everyone, and the school districts and town made huge donations to him and the families of all injured and killed officers and their families.
@@JordanMcKee I think video based media will be better about getting good summaries, as I looked up articles and they are pretty vague. But the incident was on March 8th, 2022, in Joplin Missouri. My high school officer is Rick Hirshey, who was injured but made a recovery, and the other two officers on the scene passed away. They had their memorial service at Missouri Southern State University. I believe that is enough information to find all that you are looking for 🙂
Brother, I have been a deputy for 19 years here in Florida and seeing you do this is awesome! Thanks for supporting us (LEO) and doing something amazing for that retired officer!
Hi sir, I was wondering what advice you have for a man who is going to be 38 this coming June and is thinking about joining the local law enforcement agency. I have thought about it I just haven't pulled the trigger yet on applying for a job yet.
Palm Beach Gardens Police Innocent Man Locked Up By Unhinged Cop - Chief Escalates Unhinged Cop Fired After This Video - Update and BodyCam PBGP's IA Bob Wilson called me at 11:58 PM crying about the exposure and backlash he is receiving for hiring and holding on to those Psychopath and Sociopathic KKKops who stood by and watched that lunatic Bethany KKKop nearly GUN-DOWN that kid while he did all he could to submit.
The most touching thing about this is, the involvement of all those students. Clearly they all know him, and feel a connection with him. This is a man who was more than just “the cop at the school”. He was part of its community. I hope his replacement will live up to his example.
An upstanding man. A young one who was clearly not in a good headspace tried to take his gun, likely with the intent to hurt the officer and many around him. Yet the officer still showed compassion and restraint in a tense and highly dangerous situation. Good man.
That was an amazing sendoff. You could tell how loved and appreciated that officer was. Thank you for taking the time and resources to give him a sendoff he and that class will never forgot. Side note… excellent job explaining the phases of flight and explaining the noises etc. you’re an excellent pilot 👍

Great Piloting. From one pilot to another. I like the way you explain your intentions and actions to your passenger aswell as asking him if he's Ok. My late Father was a flying Orthpeadic Surgeon and he used to say" How do you know if a pilot is a good or bad pilot? If someone has never flown and gets on the ground and says I will never fly again that is a bad pilot and the opposite is true for a good pilot" Job well done🛩
From an interested non-pilot to the two pilots: I have to agree: The way everything was explained, especially during the last landing: Excellent. Did enjoy the clip!
"If someone who has never been on the ground before falls off the ground, and says they will forevermore stick to having their own two feet on the ground - then that is the sign of a good pilot." Did I invert it correctly?

SROs lead to high expulsion rates and often refer "problem students" to the criminal justice system before they even are out of high school, leaving a scar on their records and hurting their opporuntinities. It's too bad he's getting replaced.
It's called good community policing. Instead of trying to help only after something happens, they try to fix the problems before they happen. They live and work within their community and that has a big impact on the community itself as they care, instead of officers who live outside of the community, that don't care to much about the community they protect because it's not their community.

From one retired officer across the pond. Send offs like THAT! is what makes the American people and America great. Fabulous memory for him to take with him :)
Awesome! Great job! A word of advice, and something I saw EVERY day as a CFI...don't favor a perfect headwind at the loss of available landing areas- ESPECIALLY in a low-inertia rotor system like the R22. You flew over the trees on your approach to the school, an action which I imagine is because we are trained "always perfectly into the wind". If you would've taken a path over the football and softball fields, for example, on approach you would've had perfect, flat areas to land in case of emergency/engine failure. Instead, you chose over the trees (and NOT the fluffy kind) presumably because it was "into the wind". I'll take a slight crosswind any day if it keeps me over good forced landing areas! Just some words of advice from years landing in remote areas as a HEMS Pilot. Fly safe!

Brought a tear to my eyes. One of the biggest thrills of my 7 decade life was a good friend let me pilot his two seater helicopter, I flew it for an hour and ten minutes from Shoreham Airbase where it had a service. He showed me the controls took it up and leant back and said over to you. I was in seventh heaven, of course he was going to land us, but there were idiots loitering around on the airstrip on his farm so he chased them off first. A great day truly a memory I cherish. Thank you for taking time to do this for the police officer and putting the video together of his last day's ride.
Which call out is the 10-42 for??
@@ilovejettrooper5922 Ending Tour of Duty
Thank you for your service sir

This is so wholesome! It's nice to see a community come together like this.

Whoa thanks for the story! Do you have something I could look up to read about this story? Sounds incredible to say the least

I hope his replacement will live up to his example.
An upstanding man. A young one who was clearly not in a good headspace tried to take his gun, likely with the intent to hurt the officer and many around him. Yet the officer still showed compassion and restraint in a tense and highly dangerous situation.
Good man.

As a retired soldier from the 101st Airborne, I've worked with some amazing chopper pilots. I have some memories that nobody else in the world will ever have as a soldier. Grew up at Ft. Benning, Dad was 1st Cav, Air Cav. Go first team!
Did your dad learn to fly in med school? Or, was the flying incidental to his being a surgeon?
"If someone who has never been on the ground before falls off the ground, and says they will forevermore stick to having their own two feet on the ground - then that is the sign of a good pilot."
Did I invert it correctly?
What a bang up send off for this Officer. His story about the trash can was really smart thinking. The helicopter pilot was awesome. Happy Retirement Officer!💙

Great video. It made me emotional! So appreciative for all public servants. Nice you could make his retirement day super special.
Awesome! Fly safe!
Keep those options open!
Thank You, Thank You for your years of service. May God always smile down on you and your family!!!

We flew to Shoreham as passengers in a retired doctors twin engine plane, as he was going over from the U.K to France as he used to fly organs for the N.H.S.

Also, when you first approached the school there were doors on there! I could see light through a gap above each door… unless that transparent panels are so transparent it looks as if there aren’t any on… but, the officer’s shirt was blowing around in the breeze… 🤔
Haha good catch! I had the doors on at first and removed them for the farewell flight.(that way the officer could see outside better and get photos!)

@@Strahan740i That was one of my first thoughts too, but then he's got to sit there waiting for the cop car to show up at the landing site since it would take a lot longer to drive there than to fly.
