I'm still using the Pioneer SP-SB03 that CNET recommended years back. Still sounds fantastic and people always compliment the sound when they hear it. I own two of them now, one for my PC and TV and I'll use them until they die or I do.
2 Sonos one SL create great sound with rich in base, I didn't realise it's not come with blue tooth so I decided to get Sonos bean G2. These three combinations made great sound. It's good to pair with Ray bar could create a good sound too. Now Sonos mini sub came out and perfect match for bed room.
Thanks for your sharing. I just have one question. If I only focus on music, such as Violin & Piano. Is there much difference between Ray and Beam 2? Many thanks
The missing HDMI is the missive mistake as that would have cost less than £5. So cannot use it TV remote to control all volume. So many will return once they find out cannot use my own remote.
You can control the sound with your TV remote. During the initial setup process it asks to learn your remote control so that you can control it even though it doesn’t have eARC. CNET does no homework.
For those who are planning to set Ray as a PC speaker, I can tell you it's a nightmare and all-in-all it felt like a stereo speaker for 300EUR, and if your mobo does not have an SPDIF port, you'll need to buy a soundcard with a TOSLINK/SPIDF out so that's +$58-$115 on top, and the worst part, I would get constant static sounds after 15 minutes while gaming (using the SPIDF module plate, not the best idea) even though all drivers were up-to-date including the USB/Audio fixes, so if you are planning to buy for your gaming rig it's a bad idea, but if you are on a budget for a soundbar for your TV meh! maybe consider something else with the same price range with better/extra features :)
3:05 kind of nit picking but I wish the white would match my ps5 better. I have bunch of sonos in my ecosystem at home lol but yeah was hoping the white was more accurate. Maybe it’s just the vid vs in person 😊
No disrespect but I can't take your review seriously when you can't even instal the PS5 base correctly. There are instructions too. Beam or Arc is the way to go.
Most TV remotes have both IR and RF. Been working for Geek Squad for quite some time now and can confirm that almost every TV remote has both options for remote control.

But, hey, maybe you're one of those people that likes having their sound suddenly get low when there's a lot of bass in a scene, or don't like being able to tell the difference between volume 11 and volume 54.
You don't get this soundbar if you want Dolby Atmos. This is a great lower entry into the Sonos ecosystem. For the people who will get this, there really isn't an issue. Also while many soundbars come with surround speakers and subs, sometimes they're a bit clunky to install with additional receivers. Sonos ability to pair a variety of surround speakers (IKEA) is a huge benefit.

Get an active 2-way speaker system or a soundbar that has an included subwoofer. And there are many of these on the market around this price point. If you watch movies, you really want that sound depth, otherwise, just use your TV speakers...
I love the Sonos Ray. In my comparison, the Ray blew my JBL 3.1 system away, even without sub.

I have two Sonos One’s as a stereo pair for music, and when watching a movie I airplay the sound to them. Works great.

Get the Vizio. That comes with a sub, two additional speakers, and hdmi and optical plug. It’s $250.
