I have just added the sub mini to my ray and I have to say my room is now filled with bass they sound fantastic together really pleased with the quality 👍
I got a Beam Gen 2 and it’s pretty good. The Ray not having ARC or eARC is a deal breaker for me. I like just using the TV’s remote. I was also surprised that eARC sounds so much better than ARC, though I’m not sure why. When I turned on eARC a few hours later after I realized my TV required manually setting it, I noticed a big qualitative change in the sound when I enabled eARC. I don’t even want to think about using optical these days. Only get a Ray if your TV doesn’t support ARC/eARC. On the Sonos packaging, I think they’ve picked up a few tips from Apple. The box and its easy opening tabs remind me very much of Apple’s packaging. I wonder if some ex-Apple employees designed it? I would suggest going for a Beam Gen 2 at $449 if you can afford it. Speech is excellent and there is no issue with bass. It is sufficient that a subwoofer doesn’t even tempt me. While the Beam supports Atmos, I can’t really hear its simulated ceiling channels, so I don’t think the Ray missing the feature is bad. If money is tight, if the Ray sounds anywhere close to the Beam, it’d be a good purchase. One other warning, Sonos doesn’t support 5GHz, so if you have a mixed network, you may experience difficulty connecting to the bar with the Sonos app. I had all sorts of problems until I connected by ethernet. Then all my troubles went away.
No RF remote support is a deal breaker, as a Sony TV owner it didnt work with my TV remote. Who wants to search for a second remote just to control the volume! Also the Optical connector did not seat well at either end, maybe its me but i didnt want to force it. Returned the unit to store the next day.
I almost took my ray back because it wasn’t as loud. But once I did the True play. It was awesome. Would recommend if you have a small room. I also have the beam 2 which is great as well.
Have you had any issues using your Apple TV 4k remote? Mine just stopped controlling the volume out of knowwhere. I have tried everything, repeating all of the steps in their guide. It worked great on initial setup.
I had to reset my remote and it finally worked. Just hold the Back button and volume up for 5 seconds. Only had the issue around 4 times and the reset worked every time.
There is a Sub mini coming. Most sound bars won’t have major bass .. B&O and devialet are bars that offer more bass for triple the price. Sonos is a great brand that offers great sound, simple setup, consistent system updates for audio improvement & operation. I’m satisfied
I’m curious why you believe $279 is affordable for just a sound bar. Depending on the quality and household. That price point is not reasonable especially without 2 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. Most households will only spend an average of $200 and that’s for a complete surround sound system. Appreciate the video and what you do and always enjoy your content but can’t make this the new norm that this is affordable for the package it is. Buying items like this just fuels the price hikes that offer lesser products and pay more. The buck has to stop somewhere.

I mentioned it and showed rendered in the vid!
The speakers on my TV are no good would a soundbar work and bypass them?
Yes.
JBL Bar 300 is better value in my opinion. A sound demo would have been welcomed though. Thanks anyways for your review.
Nice 👍❤️

It’s more than a soundbar. You pay for internals and technology and build quality
So this bar is kind of useless, There i said it.
