When I think my reels need a little cleaning and lubing, I just dunk them in the water while fishing. Wash and lube all in one. J/K. Nice tutorial video.
I break mine down in the off season and clean them. Learned how by watching your old vids. What ya think about investing in an ultra sonic cleaner? I think it would make the job a lot easier and faster
Great video as always. Have to take care of your equipment if you want it to last and preform at it’s best. My wife jokes that I clean my reels more than I fish 😂
TackleJunky81 Wanted to try something new so I went ahead and ordered one anyways. I’ll see how it holds up in south Tx. Looking fwd to your review anyways.
Ok, I'm gonna put you on the spot here. My follow up is Curado K or Sx for the money? I own several Ks but am an Okuma fan as well. Had great luck with several of their spinners but never tried their baitcasters.
@@tacobob891 It would be hard to say as I've never used the K. The SX is solid bro. Small compact reel that packs a punch. 👊💪 I've used the Curado DC, but I'm not a huge fan of it just because of it's size, but it's a killer reel. No doubt Shimano makes a great reel as well.
It’s like every time I want to go fishing, my wife wants me to mow the lawn. I mean come on woman! 3 months of neglect on our yard is totally worth the 3 months it took to finally catch a 1 pounder.
Good vid brother. A little maintenance like that will go a long way for the baitcaster! Thanks for sharing 👊
Thank you, brother! Your videos on this topic were excellent! 👊💪
@@TackleJunky81 appreciate that man. I'll send folks to this vid for tips on a quick cleaning guide!
Thanks for the routine cleaning video TJ81. Solid walkthrough on performing basic reel cleaning throughout the season.

I doubt it, you can run these things on factory lube for decades.

@@TackleJunky81 You da man! Thanks again for the great giveaway!
@@Ranger374_ just dip it in the lake and let it air dry. Works better than oil. oil gums up, water doesn't.
@@biffbinford8767 yeah I've had a few shimano reels in the water for sure lol
Does Lucas oil make reel oil or are u using automotive? I know they make great products. I just never thought to use it on my reels.
They make reel oil. Pick it up at Tackle Warehouse.

hey James, does the ardent spray have a strong smell to it? i've been using the penn spray and it smells like roach killing spray called raid.
It has a smell to it, but I wouldn't say it's strong.
TackleJunky81 thanks.
The Lucas oil you used, do you have a link for that?

Do you have a deep clean video? I found a reel in the lake I want to restore
I have a 3 part series in the description.
Did you ever do a full review on the SX reel?
I haven't yet, but I'll be doing it soon.

@@joeygonzalez4716 You'll dig it brother!
I should do this. My reels are a mess and I don’t have cheap ones
👊💪
Do you happen to have a “Daiwa procaster special edition 100se” (its a weird green color)
Don't they give those away at Wal-Mart if you buy a matching pole?
I don’t think maybe
I do not.
TackleJunky81 If you ever see one buy it it’s really nice reel for the price
How do you like the Sx?
LOVE IT! 👊💪

You’re supposed to clean them? 🤷🏻♂️
Mmmhmmmm lol
Just throw it in a bucket of used motor oil and let it sit for awhile then pull it out and wipe it off. Works great.
Yea buddy

Keep your grass short it's easy to see snakes in it that way 😆

🤣🤣🤣 For sure!
Just spray some WD40 on it and wipe it off.
