    My first bike is the 2016 Triumph street triple 675. Its the best bike to grow into. she has helped me learn how to ride and is ready and waiting for me to open her up.

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Totally agreed! all you have to do is not twist the throttle hard and you can grow into the power, Adults are capable of that! Lots of people insist on starting with a low power bike, as if nobody has self discipline of control! Such a nice motorcycle this thing!

    • @Overtorange
      @Overtorange 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Kingsoupturbo Well it's not about self discipline. The whole point is that you shouldn't have to walk on eggshells when you first start riding. It greatly hinders your learning. I started on an R3 and my buddies insisted on starting on 600s/750s. I absolutely roast them when we go to track days. They developed such bad habits when they first started riding and it was never cost or time effective to fix them completely.

      Man so nice of you to say! You know how every review ever has said this bike is top of the heap in the class? its not for no reason, I think its near perfection in a motorcycle. They say SuperCars have become easy to drive, 800hp Ferrari's can toodle to the shops like a Ford Fiesta but open the Taps and it'll blow your face off, very much the Triumph, ride it like a Scooter on vacation on a Spanish island, picking up fresh bread and wine in your basket, then open the Taps on a mind bendingly fast monster that sounds like Heaven at your leisure, does it get better?

    Don't forget it has a lot of power & torque! I pulled a wheelie accidentally when pulling away at a traffic light. This thing can get your heart pounding in your chest when you let it! And when you squeeze the front break just a little harder then average, it breakes hard!

  • @darthravo

    I just test drove this yesterday and I was mind blown. I tried the street twin as well and I was fairly comfortable on it, but the ST3 I gave a lot of respect. Hit one fast stretch and gave it some brand and boom, I was sold! Just need to figure out how to either afford this or buy a second hand one 😀
    Ps: I’m gonna try for the R model rather than the RS.

    Very good review. I started out on an '82 Honda Nighthawk 450 then graduated to a' 99 Triumph Legend TT 900. I've always wanted a Triumph and now find myself loyal to the brand, but I truly miss that nimble feeling of my old Nighthawk.
    I've been looking to possibly sell the Legend (also a triple) and picking one of these up to café it out; single headlight mod for starters, maybe a more comfy seat, Arrow pipes (if I pick up an '09).
    Again, thanks for this review!

    Alexual # the rx model was launched Jan of 2015 and has red rims not just a pin stripe, it also has a very daytona style rear seat unit, and this bike doesn't say... rx on the red side fearing sooooooo I'd say it's just a satin grey street triple r... I've got a 2015 r and I'll never buy another head down arse up sports bike again, this goes 90% as well as a sports bike and possibly the better bike for tight twisty roads, the low down torque allows for short shifts out the corners to maintain maximum traction and awesome acceleration! but as for you guys at 6 foot who can't flat foot, I'm 6 foot, maybe a quarter inch under and I can flat foot mine with a bend in my knee and it is still at stock ride height?? anyways, safe and happy riding guys & girls

    There's a 2010 model for sale, not the R just the street triple (if it's much different). I was looking to get it for my first bike. What you said make sense and people I know in person think it would be OK, but I posted about it on the Internet and they think I'm crazy telling me to get a 300 and sell it in 2 months.

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need the R version, but the Question is are you going to spend a lot of money on a bike and then not end up riding it much and losing money on it? Can you control yourself and not open the throttle and head to the redline until you get comfortable with the machine? (I've ridden some fast bikes and when this thing went to redline, holy moses it was crazy!) The thing about getting a 300 is that you can open it wide open and not be too scared, or if you're more mature and are pretty sure you'll ride a motorcycle a bunch, splurge and get the Street Triple and grow into the power. Honestly you can't go wrong with getting a low price 250 and seeing if you ride a lot and like it, if you don't you can sell it and probably almost recover the money, a more expensive bike like the Triumph is a lot higher risk money wise.

      Hope you went for the Street Triple 'R' - I had one as my first big bike after passing my test (a UK thing!) and it was amazing. Had a sports bike (Daytona) and 1000cc bike (Kawasaki) since and I really miss my Street Triple. It's a fantastic bike as a first bike because the power is so easy to manage - you want to go fast, no problem, you want to get to know the bike first, perfect. Great fun and handles fantastically well. The suggestion of slightly softening the suspension from stock (I stuck mine between the standard and soft settings) and it's perfect for the street.

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was my impression as well, the power is so easy, no sudden surges, lots of low and mid range torque, you can sense it was made to be super user friendly, for something that can go SO fast, its so manageable, I would not have put my 600 Katana in the same category because of its weight, and the engine wasn't nearly as tractable as the Street Triple

      Hell yeah! Bought a Street Triple a week ago and I've got a very good deal out if it - probably because it's winter season. It's indeed super fun to ride. Swapped bikes today with one of my mates who rides a Suzuki GSX650F and he couldn't believe how light and responsive it is. The throttle can be a little jumpy, though, so some throttle control (and a decent amount of common sense) is required I'd say. Long story short: I don't think I'll ever get bored riding this thing!

      They are a bit scary going full throttle, but you can really have fun at 1/2 throttle under 6000 with this thing, the power even wide open under 5000 is nothing too scary, it really doesn't start pulling hard till 8000 or so as I remember!

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its good advice, classic motorcycle advice (250 has lots of zip!) if nothing else to see if you will even ride motorcycles enough to justify the cost of something like a 10k Street Triple. But if you're a mature owner and pretty sure you'll ride a decent amount, you can totally start out with this thing (as long as you have a bit of self control which most mature people do have right?)

      thanks man! wise advice ;)
      I am into Yamaha XJ6 Diversion since it is more friendly and forgiving with pretty less power than Striple. Prices of triumph bikes even as used , are up to the sky. A lot of money. OF course i search also an SV650 to test ride ;) Have you ever ridden one?

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't ridden those! I've heard excellent things about SV650's, great midrange and low down with the Vtwin bikes, honestly any safe working sportyish bike is pretty freaking fun!

      They're a really cool company I think! and very pretty! motorcycles are pretty fun! not nearly as dangerous as people say, if you wear your proper gear, drive carefully, really learn your technique, no problems at all!

      @@WomenRQueensNMyFaceIsTheThrome Thats great!!! I agree with everyone's suggestion to just get a super light 250 to start with. then sell for same price when you're done learning, but you can certainly start on a Triumph
      inja 650 etc and just take it easy on the throttle until you get more experienced, which happens really fast! There is so much used protective gear for sale used, for pennies as well if you look around. (lots of people getting out of motorcycles) so gearing up with awesome safe stuff can be really affordable if thats a concern (always is for me) safe riding and have fun!!

    • @WomenRQueensNMyFaceIsTheThrome
      @WomenRQueensNMyFaceIsTheThrome 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's very true! I think it really depends on the person which is best for them, for me personally ik I won't ride outside my skill set, and a lot of bikes now especially the trident has rain mode which limts the power so as a beginner that can be helpful.
      Unfortunately I don't see many riders in my area so selling one bc I wanna upgrade seems like it'd be difficult as well 🤷
      I didn't know nor think about used gear, that'll be helpful so I'll definitely look into that-thank you very much!!

      @@WomenRQueensNMyFaceIsTheThrome Very nice! if you can find something that has already been dropped, has scratched plastics I'd vote for that! its so easy to just mess up the kickstand\center stand, wind catches it and over she goes, can be heartbreaking on a new bike, but zero issues if you have a used bike! Not a lot of motorcycles for sale around here just yet, they start to really pop up once summer is in full swing! Traction control is really nice, I mostly avoid the rain best I can, motorcycles with decent tires have really tons of grip, and most bikes it really takes a really deliberate effort to get into trouble! Keep your peepers open for bikes, I'd say Ninja 650\Suzuki SV650\Hyosung 650, something a bit beat up and cheap, good tires, bright turn signals (no aftermarket smoked LED garbage etc nobody can see) stock exhaust, low seat height if you need it. The motorcycle course will teach you all that ,plenty of time to get a super pretty fast bike later on!

      Why do you say that? too much power? I think it comes down to responsibility, teens will always be teens, giving them 125cc doesn't mean they won't still be stupid, the girl who rode this bike always took it easy, she told me I think she never went over 5000rpm. I would only say not to buy this bike as your first as its expensive and I'd be darn sure I am going to ride a motorcycle a lot before investing in this dream machine, start on a 250cc you can sell easy before commiting to this piece of heaven!

    • @jasonmercado85
      @jasonmercado85 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kingsoupturbo giving them a 125cc bike won't rocket them to 120+ miles per hour on the highway. it won't accidentally wheelie in 1st and 2nd gear. If someone isn't taking this bike over 5K, they're either riding wrong or are to scared to reach the redline.
      But to each their own...

    This is not 2012 (I own one). 2013+. This looks like an Rx model with the wheel pin stripes. Definitely not for beginners buddy. The power to weight ratio is immense. Brakes tell the story. I've used it as a daily commuter, but it's better in the twisties. To compare this bike, jump on a Ducati 659.

    • @Kingsoupturbo
      @Kingsoupturbo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No question it can be a monster, its hella fast and has all the Daytona awesome stuff. But you know the owner of this bike took it real easy, no Daytona-track-day stuff, just booting around, no danger, no fear, no sudden 2-stroke power curve, self control is the key I think as you work up to what this monster is capable of right?

    • @MeeJunksEavy
      @MeeJunksEavy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kingsoupturbo kind of. I'd compare this bike directly to the Monster. Pound for pound, it's hard to seperate them. 2 strokes are hard to find nowadays, so difficult for me to compare. The STR3 can be used in a docile, scooterish, manner. But she is also unforgiving if you don't know the power that's on tap. IMO, I'd recommend working up to this ride, from a 300 or 250.

      I totally hear what you're saying. I think if you're a younger guy, certainly don't tempt yourself with this kind of weapon. But if you're more mature and are capable of easing into it, I still think this is a killer first bike (if you want to really treat yourself!)
