    This is one of the best cameras even in 2022. In terms of image quality, you can use this camera for many years to come. ProRes 4444 and 4444XQ are great. But with this camera you can also shoot in RAW CinemaDNG, which makes colour grading even more flexible in post-production.

    TH-cam is such a great resource. Can't believe this video even exists... Thank you man. Lot's to think about! Still contemplating saving 7k getting this second hand over a rigged out ursa 12k...hard choice.

      TH-cam really is great! If you don't need 8k-12k cropping for very niche projects, I would say go for a used Ursa G2 instead of a 12k!

    The cfast to ssd converters have always been the source of my issues with the ursa. Switched over to cfast and problems were solved. Thanks for the video! :)

      That's great to hear! Sounds like switching to CFast is worth it, Thanks for sharing!

    CFast cards can be tucked into your SSD recorder. There is a hole at the top on the control side for the cable to go through. Open the top, put the cards in each slot and close it with the wire feeding through the hole.

    A friend who has the Mini 4.6k told me a few days ago about the problem of the camera that wont turn on, it was because of one of the connectors on the v-mount plate, if it could help ;) Thx for the video

      Yes I can totally see that being the issue with some of them. Mine was taken off and put back on without it helping.

    Using a file adapter for the drive is likely the reason you had startup issues.
    It's like putting e85 in a gas engine and calling it unreliable. Some cars that are gas can take it no problem, some cars will not be reliable but might work most of the time (aka unreliable), and some cars it might destroy them.

    Hey bro nice video, quick question is it straight forward to import files from SD card into premiere Pro? I was told that black magic have their own video files rawmagic and not slog files?

    • @happyroots7772
      @happyroots7772  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on which camera and what you are recording to. Some of them vary but in most cases, people are shooting to "SSDs" or "Compact Flash Cards" or straight to "t5 Drives". All of them are very straightforward forward though. You just drag and drop the clips into your footage folder (where ever you are storing the footage) and then from there, you can import the folder into your program. Black magic "film" setting is a log setting similar to SLOG. They just have different names for what they call their log footage since they are different companies. As far as Black Magic RAW, your best YouTubing around a little to learn more about it, you don't have to shoot everything in RAW though. None of the footage in this video is RAW.

    Thanks for this. Just picked up a used one yesterday. So what do you think about the BM Video Assistant 5 12G with an external SSD with USB-C as storage? in the long run it's cheaper then those darn CFast cards ;) Thanks for this video, it helped making my decision to buy one a lot!

    • @happyroots7772
      @happyroots7772  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem! Glad it helped! I'm not sure about the BM Video Assistant, I would want to test one first I think. Just to make sure it's not clunky and adding a ton of weight. I think shooting on CFast and using a smallHD bright, would be my go-to though (mainly because I already own the Small HD and love it) lol. Let me know if you get one and end up enjoying it!

      @@happyroots7772 Thanks for your reply man, much appreciated. So I'd start with the Zitay CFast to SSD first (The single one). Should get it in a couple of days so I can test it. Some Cfast cards I have seems to not handle 4K prores 444 very well and stops recording after 15-20 seconds. Let's see how the SSD setup will work :)

      @@happyroots7772 Thanks! And yes the Zitay CFast to SSD (single slot) works perfect with 2.5 SSD's. Did 2 tests yesterday recording Prores 444 on 4.6K resolution. Recorded flawless for over 30 minutes. And great to see recording times from over 160 minutes on a 2TB SSD is beautiful of course :D
