Who is still listening to this masterpiece in 2024?❤
my wedding song for sure!!!
I'm here for it! 😍
Sure. Great and ageless song!
Me.luv this, then now and forever
mannn, they don't make this kind of songs anymore.
This is the song my late husband pinned to me after we met, for our wedding, and thereafter. I still picture him singing along, winking , smiling that gorgeous smile, as he flirted with me for all the years we had together
When I was 10 years old in 2000 I couldn’t figure out the fuss about this song, now I’m 30 and it’s 2020 I literally brush my teeth to this song. Beautiful masterpiece.
I love how brushing your teeth to the song is high praise, although I can't talk I do the same
When my mother and I were going through tough times she would play this song. Earlyish 90s. I was around 3 or 4. Im 28 now and appreciate it now more than ever
I wash my hair to this song 😂
@@sls2096 marry me?
Saba ah sad nimo! Mag order patag postiso
41. Single. Never married. No kids.
I'd love to dance in the kitchen with the love of my life to this song one day
LOL 👍 I’m with you, except that I’m an almost 70 yr old SWF who decided in my teens that I never wanted to get married and/or have kids - only a cat 🐱 or two. BUT I do 💖 to dance and sing around my house to good music! THIS isn’t really meant for that though - as a ‘single’ person, but as a couple. You still have time to find the ‘right’ man AND have children 🧒 👧 !
Wishing you luck.
I did that
itll happen man. Just keep moving forward. The person for you is out there
Reminiscing about someone you still love but isn't yours anymore at 2 am hits different
you dont have to hurt me like that lmaoo
❤
will drink one for you stranger
Good memories will know I'm sure of this
Friendship we will have if love we miss
Hang in there pal
RIP LeRoi Moore...founding member of the DMB...the sax player in this video.
Well I didn’t even know he passed... some dmb fan I am
RIP
Thank you didn't know..Leroi Moore..left a legacy..
Died from injuries from a crash. Such a loss. He was amazing!!
His death saddens me!
As a teenage girl of the 90’s this song, this band, was HUGE. Just massive. The sound of my youth.
'The sound of my youth' What a beautiful way to put it.
Yessss and remember it was in that movie with Alicia Silverstone...Excess Baggage!?
Class of 2000.... I've seen dmb in concert more times than I'd like to admit. I miss 1999
You are beautiful. Goodness 😮
Im normally a punk rock/hard rock guy but this song is a masterpiece
Me too, lots of punk rock. Looks like Dave transcends.
"you wear nothing, but you wear it so well." Bars
Life goes by fast, I was fresh out of high school back in 1999, I wasn’t feeling much love back then, I meet my soon to be wife in 2007, we been together ever since and was blessed with two daughters, Y’all don’t give up out there , my life was looking hopeless between 1999 to 2007 then I found everything that holds meaning and purpose to me in this life.
I’m glad you found that love and know that feeling of family and love my dude there for sure is nothing more important. I Hope the best for you and your family Along this path of life we all are tangled up in. ✌️
That was beautiful man. Legit tears to my eyes; happy ones.
Thanks for sharing this part of your life with us. ✊🏽💯🤞🏽
thank you for sharing, I am fresh out of high school now and not feeling much love but this made me feel a little better
2:14 when that violin and the chorus hit at the same time sends chills through my soul
Same happens to me
Dave matthews is a musical genius this has to be the greatest love song ever lyrically, melodically and musically it’s just overall a great song for someone you cherish
Wow, extremely well put! It just overwhelms my senses, the poetry, the music, the longing, the whole shebang! Sooo romantic! 💗
"lost for you, I'm soooo lost for you"
*ugh* That line always gets me. This song reminds me of when we are so young that we are made up of more longings than actual experience - and the sweet yearning feeling that was perpetually there throughout those years.
I'm the king of the castle, your the dirty rascal. Gets me everytime lol
Now that is deep and true! I like 🎼 “I’m bareboned and crazy for you”.......Reminds me of someone from my past ❤🌹🕊
Well said!
I miss the 90's, it was the best decade musically, and personally! We can always count on music for time travel!
Beautiful comment
Never heard it out that way but its true. We are trying to experience the things we have heard about or things we are “supposed” to want. Being young with little responsibility is a time I look back so fondly upon.
5:35 Carter Beauford always smooth as glass with an epic drum fill…one of the greatest drummers of all time.
My man Booker T is not just for wrestling 😁
This live version is perfect!!! Such a beautiful song.
This song played as my husband and I drove through Santa Cruz, CA mountains, Big Basin, Bonny Doon, Bear Creek Road and La Honda. Moonroof open, canopy of redwoods lining the road. Sun warming our face. What a time. This song is perfect.
That's so sweet
You must have e had that on repeat for a very long time to hit all of those places 🤓
That sounds like an amazing drive.
Ha! I live in San Jose and know exactly the route you guys took 👌🏼
Shut up you old hag
I'd pay for an entire concert, just to hear this one song live ❤😍
Seen them twice. Both times were incredible.
I agree
Oh it’s wonderful
Seen them 10 times and still never seen this song 😭😭😭
@@DH27000 oh no! That sucks 😔
“I will be your Dixie chicken if you be my Tennessee lamb, we can walk together down in Dixie land, CRASH INTO ME! “
Dave took it up a few notches with that line.
I love that line tooo✌️❤️
Do you know who wrote that line?
@@mattmoss6720 Probably Lowell George from Little Feet bc they sang Dixie Chicken but for all I know that could have been a cover.
That lyric is so nice but what he does with his voice right after it is heavenly.
@@mattmoss6720 Lowell George. A great song too, check it out
All us middle aged women remember this awesome album from our early to mid twenties. It’s still so good.
susan529 ok susan
kaiser kitty was that supposed to be a more personal ok boomer?
I do from my early teens
Doug Richardson I used to hang out with a Vince Vaughn and Jeremy Renner when I lived in LA in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Celebrities don’t impress me anymore. My husband is 62, I’m 49. So, yeah I know what men do.
I had a coworker who went to every concert DMB played whenever they were close. He told me he was guaranteed to get laid when Dave played Crash. Great hookup song of its day. Still is.
First time I've ever seen a bodybuilder playing the violin.
Yeah..... this song.
This song hits so many fucking memories it hurts, yet .... it feels good too. It will always remind me of my High School Crush..... this perfect, perfect song.
Stay well and Stay safe people....
I completely understand I feel he same way
Man, this song is so nostalgic. This live version is more nostalgic imo
It’s better than the record.
I just want to marry my best friend friends are hold to find
Didn't do that no what I'm saying G
doesn't matter where, doesn't matter when, stops the world every time. Absolute joy.
This will forver remain a beautifully crafted song sung by a great artist
Type of song that transcends generations❤️📈
This song makes me feel like everything has happened because it needed to, but that we will be ok at the very end 😊
Same!!!!
Wow... that was perfect and beautiful and everything in-between.
This is my aunts favorite song and every time I listen to it, I think of her 💙
I just love how he added “I will be your Dixie chicken if you be my Tennessee lamb, we can walk together down in Dixie land” in this live, just makes me smile. I was only in elementary school when I first heard this song but it’s always been my favorite since. I can imagine how amazing it would have been as a young adult and being able to see and hear them live during the 90s lol yes this song is dirty but it’s so passionate and raw kind of love feeling, that experience only meant to shared with your one special person.
This was my whole 20s from 20 on. What I wouldn't give to relive that time..as chaotic as it was id do all over again.
Great live version
Drummer was outstanding
I love this song. I dont know why but every time i hear this in my room it feels like peaceful and calm on the outside world
Yeah i agree. When i hear this everytime im stoned, this helps me relax more. DMB 🙌🏽💨
Love the look on Boyd’s face when he hits those notes after the second verse
Ageless - timeless - beautiful creativity - thank you - magnificent
I just loved the sound of this song when DMB released it and it hit radio play. I was probably 15 ish. I’m 38 now and I “get” the artistry and the soul of this song. I haven’t heard it in so long. What a beautiful thing to stumble across and melt into with perspective and the aftermath of hardships in love and suffering in my mind and body.
Carter Beauford is so AMAZING on this! Basically everything the man plays is genius! One of my favorite drummers!
Im 43 in 2023. This song still gives me chills. Makes me wanna throw everything away and call up my first love 😂
The genius of this band can't literally be felt when you listen to these performances. Cannot even imagine the feeling the audience must get. One of those songs and one of the bands that floods your mind with old memories of high school and long forgotten feelings. Glad these guys exist, I like feeling those old feelings every now and again, just reminds me that time is catching up and I'm on the slippery side of things now.
Thanks big chungus
It’s amazing every time
Well said
time is fluid evidentaly
This song fits Dave's vocal range. Stone cold pop gem.
Can listen to this 100 times, never gets tired. Timeless.
I agree
This was when the band was at it's best. You can hear all the musicians. This version can not be played any better.
1996-97 working in summer camps in Connecticut. First trip overseas away from home in Australia. New friends, falling in love. This was part of that soundtrack to my life.
Ok, I'm crying
Man his voice!!! THIS SONG. Amazing. Didn't realize how sensusal this song was til much later. One of my all-time favorites
I am the world's number one lover of Hip Hop Music and Culture...... but this song is absolutely incredible lol...... My Dad used to play his acoustic for me as a kid and I'm a sucker for stuff like this lol!!
If you saw this live you'll never be the same!!
My God he is stunning...in all ways....seeing him live makes life worth living...
I've loved Dave from the beginning In highschool, been to concerts and 2002 2003 2004
Wonderful, Jesus Christ, with be with you for eternity., open arms smiling a md I'm pretty sure My brother David Bands Band too ...😇 God Bless You HALLELUJAH
Feb 17th 22. Ive listen to Dave in my 20s. I'm 54 and listening still
DMB was super popular in high school and college for me 2005 - 2010 ish
LOVE that Dave pays tribute to one of the greatest, most underrated bands ever - Little Feat!!
"I will be your Dixie Chicken if you'll be my Tennessee Lamb, and we can walk together down in Dixie Land!"
Wonderful!!
Congratulations on the hall of fame nomination and soon to be induction. We'll deserved
The only song I've ever heard that makes me blush
3:30 that woman is incredible!
Frickin Gorgeous!!!!
Holy crap she’s beautiful!
If they have radio in heaven, i hope its dmb on repeat.
This song brings a tear to my eyes. This song cannot be beaten. Thank you Dave Matthews Band
♥ music of the 1996!
Damn. I can't listen to this enough.
One of the most beautiful love song ever written.
I spent 4 months in Guatemala where I met a beautiful woman who will be moving to the US soon. One night we were dancing and she wanted to hear some English songs. I played this and cried my eyes out. I'm not a cryer.
what a song!!!! 35 and still loving it
and not a single cellphone, just pure music going through ears
It doesnt get much better! Everyone that was in their teens/20's in the 90's/00's got to experience a really special band at a special time in a special place.
Dave Matthews is a master at writing music that has no continuous pattern yet incredibly synchronized. Makes no sense. Just a one in a billion songwriter
Absolutely the best version I've seen.
😍🤩😘
Miss the 90s life was so much simpler. Nostalgia
This is just a fantastic song and it's so fun to cover on drums. This is how a percussionist writes and plays for the song and not for the fills and flair. Great band, always.
Anybody else remember being a kid, like, pre-war and hearing this shit on the radio? Seems life was simpler then...
The fact that you mentioned pre war makes this comment even more relatable cause I know exactly what you mean
@@DaddySafety true dat. 2020 man.
Or maybe I have it wrong 😂
My hand cramped just watching this
astounding live performance
In 1999, I had just heard of DMB from a friend who went to Nazareth College in Rochester NY. I went to visit for a weekend and a cover band who mostly played DMB was there. I was from Toronto and couldn't figure out what the fuss was, but here I am 20 years later still loving every minute of DMB...
Me too. This band is so good that when you listen particularly this song, it always feels good. DMB 🙌🏽💨
Buffalo NY here
Every time I hear DMB it reminds of me of a happy or positive moment in my life.
This was the best show I've ever seen hands down!.. nothing's come close in 21 years.. you never heard an eruption like when he played this first chord.
And no phones in the audience fucking it up!!
Yes Dave brings back good memories for me Good feelings Jus Love It Love Him❤❤
Most beautiful song in the world!!!!!❤️❤️
I find it wholesome and amazing how many other people have vivid memories of hearing their parents play this song in their childhood. I love that and miss those days
I'm a 20-year old who loves DMB! Thank God for these kinds of bands and music.
No words describe the moment when this crash into me.
Who has ever gotten married to this song?... I did!! Greatest day of my life. When everyone stands up and Dave is on and she walks out! Nothing like it
2023 and this is still my all time favorite car jam
What an absolutely stellar bass line. I've been trying to learn this lad's part on my fretless 5-string.
I recently turned 70, and getting to perform this live has become one of the pieces on my "Bass Bucket List."
The intro to the song has such a cool bass solo under everything
I’m glad the bass line stayed so prevalent in this video. I’ve seen versions where he’s just buried. I love the sound of the bass and Stefan is great!
I’m no musician but the bassist slapping that bass is pure magic!
Easily the best drummer of the 90s ❤️
Magic sound.
I go far listening to this.
Thank you guys for that.
🇧🇷
I only started listening to dmb about a month ago, and since then I’ve basically had this song on repeat. This song is so full of raw emotion, it puts me in tears every time I hear it, it’s so beautiful, and it never, ever, gets old.
Idk about never gets old if it's just been a month. But it is a damn good song
Have seen DMB 15 plus times. Never tire of the artistry
Good music sparks both fond and sore memories. Sometimes I can’t listen so certain songs because of those sore memories. This one is an exception for both fond and sad to me
30 years old here sitting in the family’s kitchen trying to reconnect to those moments that made me feel alive as a kid like the world was filled with endless love and possibilities!!
It's a masterpiece!! Everything he wrote after that; could not match it...game over!!
Agree
The DMB, One of two gems next to Satellite. Why didn't Dave release more stuff like this? Oh, the humanity!
One of the All Time Best bands ever formed! #Stillherein2024! 💜
I wonder how many babies were conceived to this song 😂😂😂
All of them!
This album came out the year I was born. Great album and song
This encompasses love, youth and dreaming of what lies ahead. Ladies find a man to sing this to you in bed...settle for nothing less.
Pretty much the reason why I’m still single... 😂
good luck with that if you want to be sung to in bed .2 things to do in bed singing isnt 1 of them lol
unrealistic expectations will cause you alot of hard times. what should i demand a woman sing to me in bed? lmao nothing cuz its not realistic lol
Or more about a stalker fascinating about a women he sees
To Mr Woodruff. That was the hardest pass. I pray Robert has found himself well. I'm working past some odd times. I'm always grateful to have had a moment in your life.
Love all his songs but this is a fav❤
I only found out about this song a couple of months ago and it's already one of my favourite tracks of all-time. This performance is special and there's something heartwarming about the audience taking it all in without being glued to smartphones. As someone who grew up in the nineties, I really miss it.
To me, this is their best performance of it! It is on the LIVE LISTENER SUPPORTED double CD. It is also on DVD!! It is nice to watch too!
@@floydthompson8668 I 100% agree with you.
Heard the live version of this song 6 years ago and it still captures my heart when dave opens with the guitar.
How did I miss this gem from the 90s? I only discovered it this year and I'm hooked!
Brother this is real expression..
The date of this show was 9/11/1999
Seems symbolic in a lot of ways
3:20 Perfect timing on that lyric...
The only line I don’t like out of all his songs. I have 2 young daughters
@@JP-nx5gt The point of the line is to make you feel uncomfortable. The song is in the perspective of a stalker
Whos remembers the 1st time when Dave and the boys came into ur life . I wouldn't change those years for nothing.. going ham still......
Still hits in 2024 ❤
Love this one!
Sweet masterpiece. It has always been one of my favorites. Dedicate this to my Prince, Randy.
Forever in my heart. Love you always, your lil white stallion.💞
