Nice mate! I haven't played with overclocking on these cards myself yet. I've undervolted though just to get some more power efficiency out of it. Nice to see your can go all the way up to 1900+ and maintain stability. Subbed!
thanks for the video introducing morepowertool, first time having a RX5700! does having an edge temp of above 80 then junction temp of above 90 degrees up normal for around 2000hz, or rx5700 in general does get higher temps?
5700 and XT were known to be hot cards, sometimes you'll see 100+ on junc temps, so th0se 80/90 temps look normal, but it's advised to repaste and have good airflow. I would always recommend a UV than just a pure OC on these cards.
Hi Alex Have you tried using the 2nd bios on the card it usually has the 5700xt bios flashed on these cards. With the amount of power and heat it generates from the xt bios not really worth it for an mostly 5-10 bump up in fps
Nice tuto, easy understanding. One point, I have stability in benchmarks, but some issues playing game setting 2100mhz. So I'm using 1900mhz. The performance "decrease" is 1fps at benchmark. Could you check your score in Superposition at 1080p Medium? Mine is 17066.
Yeah that's common, in synthetic benchmarks you can push the settings higher, but gaming there's more stability issues so will have to downclock slightly. No problem I will get back to you when I get time, bank holiday weekend in the UK.
Hello, I would love it if you replied. So i am getting a gigabyte rx 5700 gaming oc with 8 pin and i came across this whole flashing scenario with my last gpu getting "locked" to my older psu for unknown reason im a little scared to flash it in case anything goes wrong. To break it down flashing to an xt bios removes the software limits right? Like the limit on power and voltages and allows the card to achieve higher clock speeds. So using the method you showed in your video the same could be achieved right? But without the risk of bricking the card. If my cooling is sufficient can i set the power limit beyond 170w? And if its cool and stable i push the clock speed? What about the voltage do i go up on the voltage as well?
So yes you are basically unlocking the limits & then will need to use MSI/Adrenaline to change the values to stable values, it doesn't physically flash the BIOS, it just changes the registry as I was told. So an AMD update will revert the changes back unless you save the changes as a file and actually flash over the BIOS. Higher frequency requires more power/voltage (Also stability) but means more heat! Will need to find the right balance as every card is different & good airflow matters. Hope this helps! The main thing is it won't brick, pushing it too much & you'll get crashes, so just needs dialling down etc.
@@AlexHusTech thank you soo much man. Appreciate your reply i just subbed and liked. Have you ever tried flashing one? Also how close is the performance compared to flashing or how close is this one to 5700xt stock.
