    My MLLSE Rx5700XT is reaching a year of utilization. I have no negative stuff to say about it, an absolute trooper, plays all i have in Medium/High settings with respectable temperatures without UVolt.
    Tech prices in Chile are always higher than MSRP, but for CLP $160000, equivalent to $150-$170 in American Rubles, by far one of the best buys i've made. Plus, the shipping took a week and a half.

      I have purchased a total of two products from HP.
      The experience has been enough to determine that I will actively avoid them for the foreseeable future.
      I bought a desktop when I was still a bit shy about building a system (with a 5500 in it)
      I ABSOLUTELY did not understand the garbage I was buying yet.
      The specs were "okish" but even during the crisis I'm pretty confident I could have put together a higher performance system. But the issue with them isn't performance, the 5500 and Ryzen CPU were fine, it was the absolutely unnecessary proprietary nature of the system, like I understand that maybe having IO soldered to the motherboard simplifies manufacturing, there is legitimately no reason for the PSU to be entirely proprietary, like PSU form factors that are smaller than ATX already exist and creating a proprietary form factor takes MORE effort than using an existing one that can be easily replaced and extend the usefulness of the rest of the system, also a proprietary mobo power connector makes it difficult to use an external PSU if you would be willing to, and ALSO serves no practical purpose.
      Upgrading one of these systems is a headache that is legitimately NOT worth it.
      I bought SSD storage from them, but it was faulty, died within a month.
      Overall my experience is that they mostly manufacture future e-waste that doesn't respect the end user.
      Never again.

    Your last point is a good one, for an opposite reason for Americans at least. Here in the USA, import taxes are really uncommon as long as what you buy is for personal use and not too expensive. So at $80~ it seems pretty reasonable value.
    I wonder how it stacks up to a 1660S/TI, as those used to commonly be around $100 on eBay. They might perform better but those two extra gigs of vram might make frame pacing a bit more stable.
    You should also consider for these benchmarks on games like TLoU showing low settings with high textures to see if the game can be made to look better and if doing so comes at a fps penalty.

    Some of them have the exact same coolers and designs, just the brand name on them are different

    The RX 5500 / 5500 XT 8GB were (ironically) similar in performance to the legendary RX 580…just like a certain “successor” [cough cough] RX 6500 XT. Considering the 5500 / 5500 XT were intended to be “entry level” performance for AMD’s RDNA 1 lineup. Meaning they were directly competing with Nvidia’s previous gen 1050 & 1050 Ti, but managed to be slightly better than the 1060 6GB. That being said, it really depends on which model you got since the RX 580, 5500, AND 5500 XT all had 4GB and 8GB variants. I personally had an RX 580 8GB for the longest time, and I still miss it for how long it’s remained a relevant GPU for 1080p gaming. It’s honestly sad that it’s now in legacy support. Meanwhile there are triple fan / dual slot 6500 XTs for $140-175

    I think the only reason that these word-soup brand RDNA cards has to do with something buildzoid noticed started being a thing with GCN cards... not so much the HD 7k series but definitely from the R9 Fury, Vega and Polaris. A lot of the _counterfeit_ were using modified vbioses on much older cards to fool the stock driver to install and recognize them as they were pretending to be. But with newer Radeons it is a case where if the vbios doesn't match up with what the card itself has, it isn't a case of it needing a modified driver, so much as *it won't fucking POST* at all. In short, the vbios and product have to be right for newer radeons to function.

      There's no clear-cut answer to that. For one thing, AMD is currently supporting back to 2016 and Nvidia to 2014, but roll back just a couple of years and both brands were supporting as far back as 2011. That being said, AMD is known for terminating support on stuff very early in its life cycle, and Nvidia is known for "stealth nerfing" products, i.e. maintaining driver updates but not actually implementing updates or optimisations. So... I guess they both kinda suck?

    To give you an example since my PC died few days ago, I have to use my 2014 laptop because I can't buy anything, It has a GTX 860M. Which is STILL supported with new drivers.

      I used an RX 570 with a Ryzen 3400g scalped from a prebuilt during the pandemic for literally years, was perfectly fine had no issues. Even with Cyberpunk or Forza Horizon 5. Honestly, you can have your opinion but driver support for a laptop GPU is nice, but not something to brag about. AMD drivers currently support four generations of card. RDNA 1-3 and Polaris, of which RDNA 1-2 are currently without argument, the best GPUs you can buy, new or used, at their respective price points. More VRAM goes a long way.

    • @TrusteftTech
      @TrusteftTech 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As someone who uses, owns, builds and buys computers since the early 1980s, I do have my opinions as of course you do too. Driver support is for me a huge thing. Simply stating generations doesn't mean that much without checking the number of years. There are people like myself who lately have found themselves in a hard spot without the option to get new hardware. Having Nvidia supporting with drivers my 10 year old GPU, IS important. I don't care how good or not AMD GPUs are. If I can't buy one, how does that affect me? Not that I agree with you they are the best GPUs. Power consumption still sucks for AMD GPUs and if I had money to buy a new system and/or GPU, I know that would be enough for me to not, yet again, buy an AMD GPU.
      To each their own.

    • @FalseOracle617
      @FalseOracle617 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't say it would be the best option for you, if it came off that way, I apologize for the confusion.
      What i'm trying to get across is that AMD is a good option(the best option)if buying new or used at a lower price bracket. Not trying to argue. If you don't want or need RT or need Nvidia hardware for specific reasons, the best option for now and the past two years has been AMD because bang for your buck is out of control good compared to their direct competitors.
      Also I think the best GPU of all time is the 1080Ti so even as an AMD fan I show respect where it's due. Supporting a 10 year old laptop gpu is rad.@@TrusteftTech

    • @TrusteftTech
      @TrusteftTech 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@FalseOracle617 I do not disagree with you that AMD GPUs are performing very well and for the money perhaps even better. When taking into account pure rasterization (I hate this word). I used to own desktop and mobile AMD/ATI GPUs/Graphics cards. For me it's not an issue of lack of performance. Performance is obviously important and I don't doubt someone who buys AMD GPUs will be satisfied with them. I do wish them and AMD the best. BUT, for me if AMD doesn't start supporting their GPUs for as many years as Nvidia and doesn't do something about the much higher power consumption, it's a no go. I am not asking them to beat Nvidia, but when depending on the GPU and workload we can see even 50% higher power consumption for about the same performance (not counting RT), then no. Also as I said if I had bought an AMD based laptop in 2014, when would the last drivers for it be released? AMD is already cutting support for GPUs released in 2017. I am guessing the 2014 mobile GPUs were cut off years ago.
      IF AMD wants to come out as the more fair, more attractive alternative to Nvidia, they need to fix this.
      GPUs are not mobile phones.
      If I come out as slightly rude, I apologize. It has nothing to do with you or the way you reply to me. It's just that's how I speak/type, plus I am in a really bad mood so politeness is not my top priority right now. Either way, it was a fun exchange, thank you for your input and your time.
