What is the logic behind subdividing the mesh before adding texture?

Gives geometry for the displacement to work.

@@tahersmarty a couple other things that you may find useful, if you're not using displacement you don't need the extra geometry, even for bumps. Bumps just add shadows and highlights that mimic bumps but don't really add real bumps.

Displacement doesnt move any height or anything, un==im in cycles enabled displacement only... and nothing happens when i mess with the slider

What is the difference between PBR and USD?

PBR is a shading and rendering workflow that invloves creating image maps for each render pass such as color map, specularity, roughness, height map, normal map etc while USD is a file format like Fbx or OBJ
