- In today's video I share my personal take on studio apartment living, why I love it so much and the things that I don't always like about it. While it might not be for everyone and sure might have its downsides too, living in a small space like my 30sqm studio can be an absolute blast if you have the right mindset ✨ Not everything about the studio apartment life is easy and pretty (especially when it comes to storage and organization 😅), but the good sides definitely weigh more than the bad sides, at least for me. Anyways, today's video is going to be all about studio apartment living realness

I'm living in university accommodation and I love how small and cosy it feels! I used to dream of living in a huge house, but since realising how expensive housing in, my dream first property is definitely a studio apartment! Thank you for sharing the ups and downs Jenny, you've inspired me to live within my means and on a budget (whilst still enjoying life!)

I loooooved living in a studio appartment. It was my little nest. I had people over sometimes but we usually sat where there was room or on the floor.
I had a fan? over my stove that sucked almost all the food smells out while cooking. My appartment also had a drying rack on the wall over the bathtub (yes there was a bathtub).
I did not have my own washingmachine but there was a shared space for laundry for the people in the building that worked very well.
My studio was south facing and got extremely hot during summer, that was the only downside with that place.
I can relate to the apartment getting hot in the summer, my studio also is facing south and can get very hot sometimes. Luckily my studio is warm enough in the winter, so I get to live without turning the heat on that much 😉

Hi ! I'm surprised you didn't mention the very close neighboors and the noise. I have been in studios during more than 10 years and that was the worst for me... Maybe I was just unlucky or very sensitive to noises. Good thing it doesnt bother you ! I'm still living in a tiny space (but in the middle of a very rural area, so less noisy) and I totally agree with the fact that when one thing is untidy, everything looks untidy !!!
I think it depends on the building, I live in less than 500 square feet and I can't hear my neighbors.
I’m sorry that you’ve had problems with loud neighbors in the past 🥺 it can be really frustrating as it makes you feel uncomfortable in your own apartment! 🥺
I guess I‘ve been pretty lucky so far, as for the first couple of years in this studio I almost never heard my neighbors! Since a few months there’s a new guy living upstairs, he used to be very noisy und very inconsiderate, he woke me up often during at night and was very loud me at every possible of the day or night. Since talking to him didn’t bring much, I‘ve talked to the building administration and hopefully it will all be solved soon (and things are already soooo much better than when he first moved in!!!). I guess I didn’t talk about the noise issues with neighbors in the video because I think it depends a lot on how respectful and considerate people can be… loud disrespectful neighbors are just terrible anywhere anyways!
These were such great tips! :) I really love the look of your studio apartment. When it comes to the clothing rack, whenever I see it I remind myself that not everything has to be aesthetically pleasing. It's certainly very practical and I wouldn't have it any other way!
I live in small 17 SQ Meters rentals and it's horrible for me and my mental health .... You eat, sleep, work in the same room, you don't even have enough space to stretch your legs. I hate so much I am considering to buy a bigger apartament.
I also love small spaces, feel somehow more protected and peaceful in smaller apartments comparing to spacious ones but I agree that cooking is a challenge. I would even put it to the ugly. The messiness part - I think it is somewhat normal for a small space, because it is just too small to have a proper order for everything 😉
Good morning, yes laundry is a challenge in a small space. I have a doorreck hanging on my bathroomdoor and a little standing reck. In the evening when I sit on my couch I can easily pick it up and put it in my kitchen area so I dont have to look it all the time😉

Good morning 😊We live in a small house. While I do have a small Ikea drying rack I like the door drying racks to hang things to dry on hangers. Keeps some of the wrinkles out and easy to put away. I’m thinking about purchasing one more for another door for small items Have a wonderful day 🌻

Nice and quiet
I also love my studio! I worry that if I ever move I won't have it as good as I do now. I can't live with others, for many reasons, so it's great to be able to just chill out alone. The space issue frustrates me a lot, but is still well worth it for the rest of the benefits.
I want to ask, how do you keep moisture from building up when you air dry your clothes? I don't have a balcony either and I use a dryer, but if I air dried my clothes I'd rather do so. I'm just worried about the possibility of mold from the moisture.

I’m super lucky because my apartment doesn’t get humid when I air dry my clothes. It’s warm and dry, so I’ve never had any mold problem so far. Maybe a dehumidifier could help in your case, if you’re afraid of mold developing 🤔
Ciao Jenny! Come ti ho già detto, sono una grande fan del tuo appartamento. Ho sempre abitato in ambienti piccoli sin da bambina, e non mi è mai pesato perché quello che perdi in spazio, lo guadagni in semplicità e gestibilità . Io penso che 30 mq per una persona siano perfetti, è logico che se l'appartamento fosse di tua proprietà avresti potuto comprare un arredamento atto a massimizzare gli spazi come un letto contenitore, divano contenitore, dispensa o libreria più capiente ecc quindi sei bravissima nell' amministrare gli spazi con quello che hai a disposizione, direi che dopo tutto questo tempo ne sei cintura nera 😂 la questione degli stendini in mezzo ai maroni purtroppo è il tasto dolente un po' di tutti noi in inverno. La roba non si asciuga e devi tenerla in casa, anche io l'ho avuta 5 anni in salotto, anche con gli ospiti, a prendere odori di cucina e a rilasciare tanfo di cane bagnato, ma che si deve fare 😂😂😂 grazie per aver condiviso con noi ancora una volta. E quando ho letto dello “stendino in mezzo ai maroni” sono scoppiata a ridere 😂 viva la sincerità! perché si, diciamolo, è sempre in mezzo ai maroni! Se non si ha un balcone e una molto grande diventa un problema… ma ci si adatta, perché come dici tu quello che si perde in spazio si guadagna in facilità di gestione e semplicità.
E sono contenta di sapere che anche tu sei una fan degli spazi piccoli e coccolosi! Un abbraccio 🤍

it might be a studio apartment, but my bathroom still has a door and a ventilation system… if you’re in a bigger apartment but leave the door open after taking a dump, you’ll still be able to smell the poo, I’m afraid 😂

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like the video. As the title says, this is a video about the pros and cons of studio apartment living, not a studio apartment tour. If you think that I talk too much (and considering I make videos on TH-cam, talking in front of a camera is what I do), I’m sure you can find better videos on the topic from other creators.
