    Hey everyone!
    To those of you who can't find the package: Unity has moved the "Show Preview Packages".
    You can now find it under Edit -> Project Settings -> Package Manager -> Enable Preview Packages.
    If you check that box, you should see preview packages in the Package Manager! :-)
    Stay awesome!

    Guys so just in case anyone is looking for scene settings in version 2019.3 and beyond and can't find it, as far as I know there is a new volume called "Fog and sky volume", just go create new volume and chose that and most thing he is doing might be there. I had a pretty big headache with that so yeah xD

      Unity's built-in deferred runs more optimally than HDRP Deferred. LWRP does not seem to utilize any Deferred method of rendering whatsoever, it ironically targets mobile which cannot even handle more than 1 or 2 per-pixel lights, really disappointing, and LWRP does not include planar reflection probes like in HDRP.

    • @armpap1
      @armpap1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@AdamX21198 LWRP - now renamed to Universal Rendering Pipeline, will be replacing default unity rendering in the future and will be the go-to solution for most projects, starting from mobile and ending with AR/VR/PC etc. HDRP will be the solution for high-end devices to squeeze every drop of quality you want.

    For those who are having problems with the post processing, hdrp stopped supporting PP stack v2 since unity 2019.1. You now have to add the post processing effects in the scene settings and configure the anti aliasing in the camera

    • @marck0zz
      @marck0zz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      How can i do that? All my materials remain pink?

    • @lengors1674
      @lengors1674 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@marck0zz I haven't work with unity for while (been busy with college stuff), but if I remember correctly, adding the post processing effects in the scene settings won't fix that for u, it will only allow u to get the post processing to work correctly. If ur objects are still pink it has, most likely, to do with the shaders.
      But to anwer ur question:
      - Right click in the hierarchy, go to rendering and click scene settings

    Does post-processing not work in 2d? I installed the hdrp and post-processing packages, created a HDRP asset, set the asset in the project settings under graphics>scriptable render pipeline settings, created a post-processing layer, assigned that layer to the post-processing volume on an otherwise empty game object, added a post-processing layer to the main camera and set the layer to the post-processing layer, created a new profile in the post-processing volume, and attempted to add a bloom to a 2d sprite with an identical emissive material called glow. Did I miss something or does it just not work for 2d? Using unity version 2019.3.1f1

    However, IIRC, you had this scene looking a lot nicer than the state you initially showed in an older video of yours. This would have been an even better video if the comparison was between the two "best" (or at least more pleasing) versions of this scene using the old renderer and SRP.

    • @TheCangar
      @TheCangar 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, I remember that video too. The only thing I think that is actually new is the fog, which is great but can be done with 3rd party assets too. I'm using VR and HDSRP doesn't really supprt it, so I'm still stuck in classig renderer, the thing I miss the most are the shader and VFX graph, everything else I feel like I can set it up like HDSRP anyways... Please anyone correct me if I'm wrong here!

    • @Clairvoyant81
      @Clairvoyant81 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCangar I tried out exactly that today: You can use the HDRP in VR.
      However, you're stuck with the forward renderer and plenty of nice features like volumetrics currently don't work for VR.
      So, in the current state, the HDRP in VR really isn't the HDRP.

    Great stuff I'm just waiting until 2019.3 official release comes out so that I can get my armature shaders from Spine updated :3
    Now if there was one thing I wish they changed about this it'd be to include the damn post-processing components with 1 click not having to make new GO, add component to it, add layer, go to main cam, add component, select layer, click global, add pp features on every different scene !!(volume profile only reduces a bit of the strain)
    It's wayy too bothersome having to do like 4/5 steps on every scene I want to test especially when you have to test visual assets in their demo scenes which for some forsaken reason never include the stack so it gets soo tiring having to do the same thing a million times siiiigghhh..
    -This especially should be an out of the box thing in project types that are precisely aimed for high visuals like the URP & HDRP !-
    Edit: Well glad they actually changed all that in HDRP, no more pain at last !

      @@no00ob Yeah. No. Gpu lightmapper is a step in the right direction but the Bakery asset is the best thing to use to create good lighting. Not at all related to hdrp.

      @@roggincz well, yes, but these scriptable render pipelines seem to be the way things are going. It is an interesting video to watch, even though all the cool stuff really just comes from the post processing stack, but realistically HDRP is still in preview and should be treated as such (i.e. not to be used in production).

    What if I have a custom material in my project, does it work in hdrp shader as well??

  • @alexslavski5056
    @alexslavski5056 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should also probably add that HDRP is still in development not supported by most assets out there. So if you are like me and rely on the asset store heavily it is a bit early to switch to HDRP as there is no going back after this, but if you are starting a new project where all of the content will be created from scratch or if your team has the resources to customize asset store stuff for HDRP then I would say that it is a good time to switch to HDRP.

    Fantastic really helped me a lot. My only question is how does one get rid of the fog trail with volumetric fog? I'm using a flashlight with a spot light attached and I noticed the movement trail it leaves behind before it fades.

    Anyone know whats going on ? Upgraded the render pipeline and now the whole lightning is super weird. I need to pump the lux value of the light to about 1500 to see colors and all colors in shadows are just white. What am I missing ? :/

    This... i really have a big problem with this. I wanted to upgrade my scene, but it never gets all materials, and especially annoying is the fact that my terrain plane jsut dissapears. And also some of my otehr materials, Do you or any one know what causes that ? (was trying to finish your grass sway tutorial, where you used hdrp) but i still have mats that just dont want to change even if i try doing it manually

    Ok ! So the HDRP is used to render materials with more VX (visual effects) . No code involved makes it different yet it is awesome for every game. Learning the different ways to render materials makes good graphics

    You might need to do a tutorial on lighting in Unity. Ambient lighting, environment and skybox seem to no longer be options in the rendering or scene menus and I can't find a way to make a scene pitch black
