    This is truly one of the best places to visit. Especially if you're an outdoors person. I'm not sure if you ventured off into the store much but it has its own series of museums as well. There is a really good restuarant there as well as several snack bars. It's really difficult to take in the shear magnitude of this place until you go there in person.

    • @englishatheart
      @englishatheart 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm an outdoors person, but I have no desire to see a bunch of dead animals. I hate BPS because everywhere you look, there's a dead animal. So just because you enjoy being outdoors in nature doesn't necessarily mean you'll like places like this.

    • @alaynajohannsen
      @alaynajohannsen 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      EnglishatHeart the aquarium is full of live animals. The first part he went to is the museum, which is mostly taxidermy. I feel like Jacob should have explained that. You can go through just the aquarium for 30$, but for both the museum and the aquarium it is 40$, and the aquarium is pretty much just live animals everywhere.

    WOW has a lot to offer, I'm glad your remarks at the end were mostly encouraging. Your remarks throughout came off as somewhat sarcastic and negative. This is not a negative comment- you have a lot of subscribers and your channel is doing well. I know you can't capture everything in your experience but some of the major draws were missed here, in my opinion. The tunnel of glass, and absolutely the opportunity to touch and feed the sting rays. There are more, but good video and I did enjoy it.

    Jacob I think a lot of people are confused. The first section you went through is the museum, which is mostly taxidermy. It’s 15$ just for the museum. You covered MOSTLY the museum. The second half you went to was the aquarium, which is all live animals and is 30$ to go to. For both it is 40$, i think people now think the whole thing is just taxidermy and it’s not. :/

    I’ve been here before and it’s AMAZING I loved it!!!! The aquarium is by far the most amazing part, i liked it better than the museum but the museum is still awesome! Usually you go through the aquarium first and then the museum so i was confused why you went through the museum first? 40$ is for the aquarium and the museum, you literally spend hours upon hours there so it’s definitely worth it. It’s only 30$ for just the aquarium, and 15$ for the museum but that’s comparable to lots of other aquariums. Not only that but all of the proceeds from the WOW go towards animal conservation, so Morris doesn’t make a dime off of it. He’s really passionate about conservation. I’ve got the pleasure of meeting his wife before as I am an artist and was a part of the veteran portrait paintings with OTC. She was super sweet and awesome!

    • @justmeyo4589
      @justmeyo4589 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's actually engineered to go museum then aquarium! I work there.its totally fine to go the other way too. Also sorry to burst your bubble. But Johnny makes a LOT of money on WOW. It's a not for profit. Not a non profit. Which means he makes money on it.

    • @justmeyo4589

    Johnny is a cool guy he actually found the very neglected boat of Ernest Hemingway I believe in Cuba and restored it and it is put on display ay a Bass Pro Shop in IslaMaralda Key in Florida they have stairs built so people can actually walk on board and thru the cabin of the historical Pilar fishing boat that Hemingway spent so much time on You are correct about the pretty. Albino. Deer you pointed out in reality most Albino animals in the wild have a much shorter lifespan than the others. Because of their Camoflage I couldn't imagine what the Bass Pro Shops spend. Each year on their stores as each one is like a mueseum itself its cool you did the video on this location ive never seen that Aquarium setup where you draw the fish like you did. That is a very neat peice of technology

    As someone who has been here many times your review and the sarcastic comments cut the value short. Yes there is a lot of taxidermy, but the aquarium is out of this world. You apparently didn't take the time to read.
    A) Bass Pro started in a liquor store and fishing lures etc
    B) Bass Pro and Johnny Morris are big supporter and sponsors of Nascar And other motor sports. The museum shows different cars they have sponsored.
    C) the deer head mountings are atypical... Meaning their are deformities that could have been destroyed
    D) The aquarium employs so many real biologist and zoologist.. the care of the live animals and fish is top notch...
    If you rush through both portions plan on 2 hours... Taking your time plan on all day. If you have walking challenges there are scooters you can rent

    I think the world's most dangerous animal is humans.

  • @Ava_Orchid
    @Ava_Orchid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I dont mind taxidermy when the animals arent killed for it directly. If they are being eaten yo may as well use their skins but I am betting most if not all of those creatures were killed as trophies not for food
