This was one of the first questions I asked myself when I started to play. I'm a bit lazy so I want to move my hand as little as possible, it's also easier to change chords when you don't have to look at your hand all the time. It takes a bit of time in the beginning to invert all chords in your head but I'm getting better and better.
Heyyy Francesca!!! 😀 I love these refresher ( basic)!videos. Very well explained as usual. The demonstration is very helpful. The displays of the notes per inversion are great!! Awesome tutorial!! 😊⭐️
It's amazing to me how piano teachers never explained this when I learned piano🤔- they just got you to learn the inversion scales for the exams without explaining the significance of the inversions in music-it would have helped to connect the dots-thank you Francesca!
Francesca, thanks for a very informative video, I was cheating a lot when I would play triad chords, because it was easier, but playing the easy stuff all the time, does not a musician make, you only learn when taking on a new challenge, now I analyze the name of the chord, and hunt it down in my chord book, and say what it is as I play it, like C sus 4th, DM augmented, and so on, always learning. Thanks again.
I am among those who started playing late in life, and started by imitating piano tutorials for songs I liked in order to keep me motivated, and kind of had to figure out why the pianists were calling 3 different positions a C, for example. I did not understand inversions, but with repetition my interpretation was that the 1st Inversion is where 1 of the original notes is played in the root note position, and the 2nd inversion was where 2 of the notes are played in the original root note position. This is like a mental mnemonic device for me, particularly since I do not read music yet (bought your book; am working on it). Does it apply to the 7, Major 7 chords etc., or do I have to unlearn some things before I move forward?
I know I’ve said this on a few other videos, but I genuinely appreciate you and your content. It’s really integrating and helps me engage as a beginner. Thanks
Your channel is great.♡ I've already learned 6 new songs with your amazing way of teaching and tutorials..😻 Can you please do a tutorial of "can't smile without you" by "sleeping at last"...? I desperately want to learn that song. 😿♡✨
Always very informative, Francesca. This is a fresh take on your old tutorial, and may I say you are looking very fresh as well :) I really liked your Adele's "Easy on Me", made me feel very professional on the piano. Looking forward to more videos. Thank you.
I'm glad i first heard your audio teaching first, because your "B""...E..."A"...T"...--"U" "T""FUL"!!!!! Long story short, thank you for teaching me piano,it's only way I can tell my wife "in her language "the same thing, it's opening a lot of doors for me,...like I said in the beginning your a fabulous teacher ...thanks again-;)

Any tips on how to choose a rhythm to use on a song. Sometimes there are songs that I don't know how to play the chords to match the rythm that the song needs.
Hello mam can you explain that if i play chords with vocal in c major scale example. We should use inversion chords or root chords for better sound. If we should use inversion chords then please suggest which inversion chords is required to play in c major, d major and e major chords . Please suggest 🙏🏻
As far as I understand, it depends on which chord comes before and which chord that comes after. Play so you have to move your hand as little as possible.
Hi. Are chord inversions identified by using Slash chords? For example, is the first inversion of a C major written as C/E? I'm not sure how I stumbled upon that but I was hoping that you could clarify. Thank you.
Important Question??? What fingerings do we use for each inversion? 135? 125?? What fingering what inversion. Are these fingering different if it's a C Major vs F#Major
My problem being an old bugger (74) is that I can’t determine which inversion of a chord to use quickly enough and keep in time with the music. Any tips?

Not necessarily. You could be playing an inversion chord in the RH but be playing the root note of that chord in the bass with your LH.
THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH!!! Thank you! ur videos are always amazing!!! 💌
Glad it helped!
i’m begging you to teach us enough for you by olivia rodrigo : ( ur the only piano teacher i can learn from i feel like
OMGOSH YES PLS TEACH US I BEEN HOPING YOU WOULD 🥺💔💔💔
Is it necessary/recommended to have the root in both the bass and the chord ?
The lowest note is part of the chord. They aren’t two separate things.
Hey! I was just wondering if you can show us how to play "California Dreamin" by the mamas and papas. If you cant its totally fine! :D
