    They actually tune knives with number of washers on production. You cannot crank knife with washers like you do it with bearings.
    Partially that is why we have Chinese knives boom, that introduction of bearings make knife production easier and cheaper.

    Very good information for anyone interested in this type of mod. If you have not tried the lanolin oil(Now foods liquid lanolin, amazon) yet you might want too. Put it in an applicator bottle similar to the KPL bottle. Lanolin oil is more viscous than the KPL and is very tenacious at staying put and leaving a good friction barrier. I used to make projectiles for long range competition, lanolin was a key component in the lube used in high pressure swaging.

      Thanks Wayne. Seems like that might be a good replacement for the heavy weight lube that I don't have. Appreciate that tip! 👍

    As far as tricky knife disassembly and reassembly goes, the Winterblade Factor is #1 on my list.

      Awesome. I was just about to take mine apart. Will shoot a vid to share. 👍

    Thanks Fred!
    I stopped taking my knives apart in 2010 when I completely destroyed three Assisted Opening knives by losing half the parts when it just flew apart...😅
    We really need more videos like this online! ❤

    I watched this earlier.pocket clip . Looks good. I might cut some of the tip off of it and do some reshaping but it’s strong and that counts. Washers…I have heard about some of the differences between caged bearings vs bearings. The thing is , I would imagine the screws spacers and the washers themselves aren’t going to be right unless ,maybe .?….u also widen the gap of the whole knife by .16 or whatever it is. Imagine there’s stress being put on the threads of the screws, those washers will wear weird and maybe even lock up. Just thinking about it. The every action has a reaction thing. Be interesting to see what happens in a while. Let us know please. Thx.

      Yeah, this is probably true. 👍 Bearings definitely won't fit. But even these wider washers may cause some uneven wear over time. I'm about 200+ flips now since the video & good so far. But I promise to do an update if they eventually start to lock up or something due to the extra width with the spacers.

    As always we all enjoy the the tutorials that you offer and we look forward to more the most I've ever done is adjusted the Omega springs on my Escort and Drop Bear but for some reason they felt funny when I was carrying them 2 days later I realized add put the clip on the wrong side😅😂. I'm looking forward to purchasing a small CRV and changing out the washers again thank you again for the tutorial😊

      😂 That's why we buy the inexpensive knives. Great to practice on. Good learning opportunity.

    Yes, like the content, have tried working on my China knives in the past with varied results. My EDC knives are definitely not top of the line. 😅

    How about a video removing stripped T6 screws?

    • @BladesOnABudget
      @BladesOnABudget  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      LOL. I guess that means I’d have to strip one first. 😬 Maybe I’ll try it on an old cheap Bugout. 🤷‍♂️

    wondering where to get real washers. Directly from CRK? never mind, those are aliexpress washers. I guess they work as good as original one from CRK.

      If I had a real CRK knife, I'd probably buy them from CRK. But for what I've got here, I think these are working just fine. These are made specifically for the CRK knives. But they do look just a little different. 🤷‍♂️
