You do know this movie is absolutely shit and has nothing to do with the actual Norse myth. Ragnarok is basically the end of the world and the death of the gods in Norse mythology, Actually a Thor film that followed the actual mythology would be awesome
We also get to see Chris Evans playing Loki pretending to be Captain America/Steve Rogers in Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Endgame as well. That's something I would have loved to have seen more of during Loki's time in the MCU.
Fun fact. In the play that was going on when Thor returned to Asgard, Thor was played by Chris Hemsworth's older brother, Luke Hemsworth. Loki was played by Matt Damon.

Easily the best Thor movie! It was really fun and often quite hilarious. Chris Hemsworth was at his most charismatic, and I loved Tessa Thompson and Cate Blanchett. Everyone looked like they were having a blast making it and it's colorful and exciting.
I might get side eye for this but my personal favorite Thor film was actually Thor: the dark world. This was the best, Tyga Waititi Thor, without a doubt, though. The one that came after it called love and thunder was garbage to me!
I actually liked Love & Thunder even more than Ragnorak. I'm guessing its mostly recency bias, but I frikkin LOVED Christian Bale's character in that and you can never have enough Natalie Portman.
@@TedBrogan Bale's performance is almost the only thing worth seeing the movie for. but god was it bad, I mean even Chris Hemsworth and others of the cast think this movie is not particularly good and that it feels like it was made by a 7 year old and if you listen to some of Waititi's comments in interviews the dude doesn't seem to care anymore about his movies.. or the mcu movies at least.
Valkyries are Asgardian Shield Maidens who led those who died in battle to Valhalla. Which is where the fallen spent their afterlife. In the Thor comics it was Brunhilde a blonde Valkyrie. In the MCU you see her briefly appear in the Valkyrie fight with Hela. She sacrificed herself to save her fellow Valkyrie played by Tessa Thompson. Her sword is known as Dragonfang. Her pegasus was named Aragorn a meta reference to Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. 😊 The plural form of Pegasus is Pegasi. 😅
There is no plural form of Pegasus. Pegasus was the name of a winged horse from *Greek* mythology. It was never the name of a species. The Valkyrie ride winged horses, but they aren't called "pegasuses" or "pegasi". Changing the "-us" ending to the "-i" ending is a way to make *Latin* words plural. But it's not a Latin word. This is *Norse* mythology, and uses a completely different language. They would simply call them "winged horses" or "flying horses" in the ancient form of Norwegian. The giant wolf is named "Fenris", but if there were more than one of them, they'd be called "giant wolves", not "Fenrises" or "Fenri".
Banner has been stuck in his Hulk mode for about 2 years. Like a toddler, everyday, Hulk learns and gets smarter. His speaking ability is getting better.
And this is another one that I've been looking forward to you two getting to. 😊 This is my absolute favorite of the Thor movies. Fantastic cast. And the additions of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, and Cate Blanchett as Hela was perfect casting. Fun Fact #1: About 80% of this movie was improvised. Including my favorite scene between Thor and Loki, the "Get Help" scene improvised by Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. Fun Fact #2: Thor’s line "he's a friend from work" was suggested by a Make-a-wish kid who got to visit the set. Both Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi loved that line so much that they kept in the movie. Fun Fact #3: Director Taika Waititi is the voice for Korg. Loved the Doctor Strange cameo scene. Loki's "I've been falling for 30 minutes" is one of my favorite scenes. LOL! We see in this movie what happened to Bruce Banner/Hulk after the events of "Avengers: Age of Ultron". And I felt like the last few minutes of the movie was a good turning point for Thor’s and Loki's relationship as brothers. Up Next another one of my favorites: Black Panther Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
100% agree with everything here. The very best of the Thor solo films. Excellent guest stars, nice to introduce Valkyrie. Cate Blanchett played Hela like a boss. Goldblum is always a hoot. *** Spoiler *** As far as a possible Thor x Valkyrie relationship, this might be a bit of a spoiler so I am hiding it down here. They don't do a very good job of explaining it in this movie but Valkyrie is LGBTQ+. The scene where you see her flashback to the massacre of the Valkyries at the hands of Hela, you see a blonde woman jump in front of Val to save her from a flying sword. That is actually her wife, Brunhilde who sacrificed herself to save Val. They do a poor job of representing this but the writers and director all said this was the intention and more detail got cut.
@@testfire3000 It could have gotten either way. There is a deleted scene *SPOILER* from Endgame, I believe, where Thor is trying to kiss Valkyrie awkwardly when he's leaving New Asgard to her, while Rocket is waiting for Thor to get back onto the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship. I think Feige had other plans for Thor's relationship in Love & Thunder...
My favorite funny moments are Loki falling for 30 minutes, Thor’s hilarious scream, Korg saying “piss off, ghost” then kicking the wall, Loki getting his revenge saying “that’s how it feels,” and Bruce’s voice changing with his veins turning green when he said “made me a little weird.” Fun fact: Taika Waititi the director of this movie also portrayed Korg.
Yeah the Thor screaming scene meeting the Grandmaster was junk. He's 1500 years old, faced literal monsters and is going to scream about a little super speed travel?
There are some indigenous themes in this. Jeff Goldblums right hand woman, is Maori, from New Zealand, like Taika Waititi, and the ship Thor takes, is yellow, black, and red, the colours of the Australian Aboriginal flag.

Great humor - often helping humble Thor. The director really revamped the Thor character after the Shakespearean style of the 1st two Thors.
Hulks been my favorite hero sense a kid, weirdly, my favorite moment is them fighting for control in the jet. Just shows the actual fight between the two at the time for who would be let out.
In the first Thor film, they mention wormholes. In Thor: Dark World, during his battle with Malekith, they would pass through wormholes. After Age Of Ultron, Hulk and the jet he was on passed through one and ended up on Sakaar, the junk planet. Scientists theorize that wormholes are all over the universe and can someday be used for space travel.

I get a huge kick out of Loki's reaction when Hulk made his appearance, as well as Thor getting ragdolled like Loki did. Also the actor playing Skurge is Karl Urban, who's also best known for portraying Julius Caesar on Xena: Warrior Princess.

That big ship in the end is 100000000% trouble. Thor Ragnorak is a top 5 MCU movie and a rewatchable. The humor level is perfect without being too much. Cant wait for your Infinity War, Ant Man & The Wasp, then End Game. I thought the first Thor was just okay, I really didnt like Dark World until I re-watched it with you guys a couple weeks ago. It is still in my bottom 4 MCU movies, but none of the bottom MCU movies are terrible.

22:45 Hulk is actually another entity in Bruce Banner. In Immortal Hulk comics it will be revealed. Hulk is like from another dimension of gamma radiation
Walmart Thor was Chris Hemsworth's (Thor's) older brother Luke Hemsworth. Also Walmart Loki was Matt Damon Also its funny you were speaking about the Boys (When talking of Korg's voice) but did not realize that Karl Urban (billy Butcher from the Boys) played the executioner (the dude who replaced Heimdall/Idris Alba)
8:11 in the actual mythology hel (hela in the movie) isn’t odins daughter she’s actually lokis, and she’s not evil she’s just the goddess of Hel (the underworld)
That, "but you could be more" line reminds me of my favorite Loki stories. where he becomes the God of Stories, Because what is a lie but a story at the end of the day, and loki becomes probably the most powerful version of himself.
Cute story about this movie. A child from make a wish was on set the day of the Thor and hulk arena battle. It was the child's idea to have Thor say "he's a friend from work" Hemsworth loved the line and crushed the delivery so it made the final cut
The Thor franchise gets an exhilarating jolt of energy with Thor: Ragnarok, which is wacky, weird, and wonderful, a singular vision from director Taika Waititi.
@@Cream-2128 thoe being comedic makes him so much more relatable. Plus it makes sense considering how old he is and that he was a royalty prince with superpowers lol
@@marturomanoThor isn’t meant to be relatable the whole point of his character was he had to develop humility to even understand people. Thor has comedic moments but from being some goof. He’s a born warrior and the avenger big gun he was never meant to be some goofy ass character. This movie should’ve been like winter soldier on a cosmic scale. Usually Thor comedic moments are from not understanding human things like the email joke he has with dr strange is a normal Thor joke.

Y'all are right that it helps spice up these movies when a second Avenger gets involved, but I don't think it's always necessary. You'll come up on some movies in Phase 3 and 4 where the movies are legit GREAT but almost completely cut off from the rest of the MCU. Banner busting into the arena for sure jacked up the excitement on this movie though, and that fight scene was incredible. I think what really pushed this movie to being as great as it was, though, were other things. Some you mentioned like Hela's portrayal and Thor being more relatable. But also the more lighthearted tone, Thor having more character growth, a stronger supporting cast with Valkyrie in the mix, a really fast pace throughout, and phenomenal action sequences. And also just the unexpected tone - Thor going on a Sci Fi adventure in an upside down trash planet where no one respected his power or station.
Banner and Hulk are separate personalities. They have Dissociative Identity Disorder, but have never been diagnosed. A superhero psychiatrist named Samson made the diagnosis in the comic books. Moon Knight also has Dissociative Personality Disorder, which gets fully explored in his TV show.
Hela is Loki's daughter in norse mythology so maybe thats why they decided to make her look similar to him. Also the wolf, Fenrir is Loki's child aswell so Hela's sibling in the mythology
Shoshana: "I don't know what they encountered...but that looks like trouble." You don't know right you are Shoshana. Love both of your reactions to one of the more likable films of the MCU. But with that said, both of you have approached the doorstep of ENDGAME. SO BUCKLE UP & Keep it going !!!
What elevated this movie was the direction by Taika Waititi, who was also the voice of Korg. If you’ve not watch Jojo Rabbit, this is a must see also directed by him.
Skurge is famous for the double assault rifle thing. The guy has access to all those crazy Asgardian weapons and chooses to do that. He did the same thing in the comic books.
Love the reaction seeing hulk and not seeing it in advance in the trailer.. pure shock n awe 😂❤ am here relievin those days n feeling again what it felt before 😂
Perhaps I am over analyzing but one of my fave scene is where Skurge (Karl Urban) takes Des & Troy and attacks the Undead. Some of the scene, angles and poses make him look like Doom guy... and considering he was the "Doom Guy" in rather notorious Doom (2005) film? Coincidence? Still very good Marvel film, easily baöanmces humor, actioon and drama really well.
I found out just like Thor, Hella was born a normal Asgardian, but then she was given that crown she summons. Like before Thor was stripped of his power and casted out, then had to become worthy. Hella was just given the crown and able to use the power no matter what her intensions were.

Don't you mean 14000000605%
When your girl laid her head on your shoulders and just smiled! She's a keeper my man!
Are you kidding me?! Most of the MCU couples have great chemistry! Tony and Pepper, Steve and Peggy, Star-Lord and Gamora, Thor and Jane, Scott and Hope… and there are several you haven’t even met yet.
Hella was played by Cate Blanchet who also played Galadriel in The Lord of The Rings.
Betty Ross becoming Red She-Hulk Setup:
Elrond -> Red Skull
Thranduil -> Ronan the Accuser
Galadriel -> Hela
The Valkyrie's were the greatest and most beautiful warriors Asgard ever had...Hela slaughtering them was utterly unforgivable
22:45 Hulk is actually another entity in Bruce Banner. In Immortal Hulk comics it will be revealed. Hulk is like from another dimension of gamma radiation
Let's just say... Thor isn't Valkyrie's type...
what i was gonna say😭
Walmart Thor was Chris Hemsworth's (Thor's) older brother Luke Hemsworth. Also Walmart Loki was Matt Damon
Also its funny you were speaking about the Boys (When talking of Korg's voice) but did not realize that Karl Urban (billy Butcher from the Boys) played the executioner (the dude who replaced Heimdall/Idris Alba)
8:11 in the actual mythology hel (hela in the movie) isn’t odins daughter she’s actually lokis, and she’s not evil she’s just the goddess of Hel (the underworld)
One more film after that u will witness the greatest collaboration of heroes❤
The thing they get stoped by in the post credit scene is Thanos's war-ship
That, "but you could be more" line reminds me of my favorite Loki stories. where he becomes the God of Stories, Because what is a lie but a story at the end of the day, and loki becomes probably the most powerful version of himself.
Fantastic reaction guys! We're SO CLOSE now. I'm dropping everything when your Infinity War reaction drops. Tissues in hand and ready to GO!
I'm thinking the tissues will be needed well before that. RIP King T'Challa. 😢
I'm so happy you enjoyed it Thor Ragnarok is my favorite Thor movie I loved it
Cute story about this movie.
It turned marvels powerhouse into a joke😊
I loved Big Trouble in Little China, Jack Kirby, Planet Hulk, Flash Gordon, 48 Hrs, and Planes, Trains, and Automobiles influences in Thor: Ragnarok.
Fact: In Thor Ragnarok ‘He’s a friend from work’ phrase was improvised by Chris Hemsworth after a remarkable suggestion came from an unlikely source-a Make-A-Wish child that so happened to be on set that day.
It's still crazy how Hela is stronger then Thor and that it took destroying a whole realm to stop one person
without spoilers, it's also crazy how Asgard and Helo being destroyed/killed impact the future events in some drastic ways.
Hela should be right under Odin in power. Hell surter should’ve been a lot stronger
@@Cream-2128 she's stronger then Odin remember Odin said Thor is stronger and Thor couldn't beat her she scales above Thor who's stronger then Odin and shes the first Born and normally first Borns are the most gifted or strongest
@@sasukethelast9515 lmfao Odin is the one who trapped her so she is not stronger than Odin and Odin was talking about their overall will not his power Thor is nowhere near odin
@@sasukethelast9515 also by saying she would be right under him in power I am talking about the comics which they loosely base these movies off of
Y'all are right that it helps spice up these movies when a second Avenger gets involved, but I don't think it's always necessary.
The Thor, Hulk and Valkyrie team occurs several times in the comics in the MCU. Collectively they're known as The Defenders.
1:44.
The voice is of Clancy Brown.
(Byron Hatley/The Shawshank Redemption).
Next 3-5 films will be historic MCU events
Banner and Hulk are separate personalities. They have Dissociative Identity Disorder, but have never been diagnosed. A superhero psychiatrist named Samson made the diagnosis in the comic books.
Moon Knight also has Dissociative Personality Disorder, which gets fully explored in his TV show.
Imagine Thor meeting Samson and said: “Know this, Son of Sam.”
I love Ragnarok its easily top 5 for me. Can't wait to see your reactions to Infinity War
I'm happy for people with reaction channels coming late to this movie. The very first teaser trailer for this movie revealed Hulk's involvement.
It doesn’t matter if Hela had the Hammer or not because it didn’t have the Worthy Enchantment until Thor 1
Hela is Loki's daughter in norse mythology so maybe thats why they decided to make her look similar to him. Also the wolf, Fenrir is Loki's child aswell so Hela's sibling in the mythology
Anyone can wield the hammer. They just have to be WORTHY
So typical Disney and has nothing to do with the real hammer! 🔨
Now I can't wait to see you seeing the next few movies!
We are literally so close to IW and EG
Fun fact: The actor of Korg was the film’s director
What elevated this movie was the direction by Taika Waititi, who was also the voice of Korg.
If you’ve not watch Jojo Rabbit, this is a must see also directed by him.
If you think this is phenomenal and love more Avengers... Infinity War is another level. Arguably the best all round Marvel movie.
LETS GOOO! With all the Spider-Man content I forgot we are still on the MCU journey!
Skurge is famous for the double assault rifle thing. The guy has access to all those crazy Asgardian weapons and chooses to do that. He did the same thing in the comic books.
For those that don’t know, Korg is voiced by the director of the movie!
What a movie, the story is good, the comedy is just right, and the characters are really good.
as a polynesian, hearing that yall have watched "boy" is dope as hell!
"I forget how powerful that hammer is."
"I forgot how powerful Thor is... with that hammer."
Well, buckle UP!
Finally!! I have been waiting and waiting for you two to react to this movie
Idk but Loki's character is iconic hahahah love that character and the actor himself
Love and peace you two.
10:37 his reaction to her throwing that guy was great 😂😂😂
Love the reaction seeing hulk and not seeing it in advance in the trailer.. pure shock n awe 😂❤ am here relievin those days n feeling again what it felt before 😂
This movie is fun as hell. Hulk is my favorite 🤘🏽
You guys trying to remember if Heimdall died or was banished and REALLY not remembering that Loki had taken Odins place is hilarious
Loved your reaction! Vince, your laugh, love it!! This is my favorite Thor movie!!!
_"Unrelatable"_ is a good word for *Thor 2.* 😎👍
Perhaps I am over analyzing but one of my fave scene is where Skurge (Karl Urban) takes Des & Troy and attacks the Undead. Some of the scene, angles and poses make him look like Doom guy... and considering he was the "Doom Guy" in rather notorious Doom (2005) film? Coincidence? Still very good Marvel film, easily baöanmces humor, actioon and drama really well.
infitinity war is the best one in the MCU so excited for you guys
Hera is the elf queen, Gladriel, in LOTR.
Betty Ross becoming Red She-Hulk Setup:
Elrond -> Red Skull
Thranduil -> Ronan the Accuser
Galadriel -> Hela
I found out just like Thor, Hella was born a normal Asgardian, but then she was given that crown she summons. Like before Thor was stripped of his power and casted out, then had to become worthy. Hella was just given the crown and able to use the power no matter what her intensions were.
