Leading Arm Suspension on a Rock Crawler

  • Back in the shop and this time I am working on the front of the Bomber trail car building the suspension for the front leading arms and taking care of the hydraulic steering.
Packaging on the front of a tube buggy is always very difficult, and even more so when you have leading arms made out of plate steel instead of tube....they take up so much more room. But now that all the links are in place I am very happy with how the front end of this car is turning out.

Ian, These behind the scenes are what I enjoy. Especially, showing when you have to make changes. Some shows, seem to show everything fall into place and we know it doesn't happen that way. Even with the years of experience that you have. Ian, you truly the best at showing and speaking about a project. I've been watching you from the beginning. Funning thing, at the beginning , I didn't think I would be interested in extreme 4x4. Then I ended up buying a '84 CJ-7. Then you quickly became my favorite of all the other shows and still are. Keep up the great work.

But I've never had the chance to see the 2.8 Cummins in person and was wondering if it would even fit or if it would be considered too much for a little samurai. I know TDIs are common. @@BigTireGarage it was just about not using long enough bolts on trailing arms , shocks and important stuff so that the shank of the bolt is it both holes ,not the thread as its smaller and sharp and will beat out the hole, i use longer bolt and then use a washer or spacer so it tightens. then cut off the thread i dont needs, please try is,it works well, thank for making this fun videos, brad
