Ok here's a question for your next Q&A.....What is your daily driver and what do you use to tow your jeeps to different events when you go cross country??
One of my favorite builds of all time plus if I remember correctly Kevin helped with the Fauxtina (I bought his book). Here’s a question - have you ever considered putting together an offroader’s bible … a compilation of all your knowledge and tips and tricks? As a former high school shop teacher I am sure you could put together a great guidebook.

Great video at the right time. I'm having Crane Axle build a 14 bolt housing for the front of my YJ. It's cheaper than what I can get the housings for. I'm interested on how the mechanical front locker works on the trails. I was always told it would be harder to turn around obstacles. Most of my riding is trails with a lot of trees. I actually bought the the leftovers of the same intake kit you bought on eBay for a third of the price of a complete kit and still have more than enough pieces to finish my air intake.
Thought to myself, you could have plugged the ginormus whole to make it look factory, but what the hell. Let's cover it up 😊 What a wonderful world! (Just to complete it)
Great video. You're the only guy I know that can say he's got a few quick things to do to a truck, and pull R&P, add gauges, swap radiator.. LOL. Just shows that having the right tools and know how can make shop work easier.

Hello, Have a question for you dealing with offroad parks. Have you seen and tried the Mammoth Trail at Anthracite Offroad Adventure Park. If not which vehicle would you bring for it?
Ian. Great channel!!! From a native South Dakota boy about your age, I see that you have a South Dakota license plate in your shop. Is there any significance to that? I also hope that you really enjoyed your time in the Black Hills during ultimate adventure. I don’t live there anymore, but I still make my way out there to go four wheeling and visit friends. Keep up the great work!
Gotta a question for you. This relates to driveshafts. So my jeep right now has stock size u joints front and rear but they are aftermarket adams driveshafts. How do you decide what size unjoint to have or what size is too small. Is it a bad idea to have a u joint be a “fuse” in the system and carry a spare driveshaft. Rather than break something like an axle/transfer case etc
Hi Ian. Love all your content on all your different media's. I'm building an Overlanding/Offroad rig using a 1948 Willys Overland truck. Don't have a box for it, but I have sourced an aluminum checkerplate flat deck off of a 90's Toyota Tacoma. Planning on constructing a removable Ausie style canopy with a roof top tent to camp with. Will be running a 97 Chevy 5.7l with a nv4500/NWF EcoBox/NP205 twin sticked combination. Axles are Dana 60 front and rear with passenger side housing (drop). Tires will be either 35" or 37" on Hummer H2 rims. My question to you is what chassis/suspension setup would you suggest I build under it? I've seen your vehicles like the Shop Truck, Lockjaw, the Overland Ramcharger, and the M715 you just put together for your buddy on Fourwheeler. Also am in love with your Willys Wagon. I'm looking for my best option for a 365 day/year daily driver that will be probably 70/30 on/off road. Help me out with some ideas. Would love to bring it down to some of the meets in the States when it is finished and show you it.
For simplicity on a rig like that....I would go for leaf springs all the way around.....simply to build, very reliable and for an overlanding rig you can't go wrong. If you wanted to get a little fancier....go for a three link front with coil springs
Thanks for the reply Ian. 3 link front end with coil springs would be like the Shop Truck setup correct? I'm using a passenger drop diff like the Shop Truck has. Who did you source for the spring and link brackets for that build?
I have a question for your q&a. How could a guy with experience become a “behind the scenes “ helper on four wheeler or a similar show? Like lucky costa was on hrg and overhaulin? Love your show and youtube!

To be Ultra 4 legal you just need to ditch the trailing arms in the back and move the shocks onto the axle. After A LOT of diagnoses the issue with the trans was due to a "questionable" rebuild and poor TC choice. I went through the trans before EJS last year and put the parts that were "supposed" to be installed by the rebuilder and set clutch pack clearance correctly....ever since then trans has been fine.....I would though would prefer to have a 4L80 in it though.
