All good but please tell me for the A1- if I am on v2.0 - can I use an SD Card to upgrade to v2.01? This sounds like a lot of work messing around with Mac Securities when every other manufacturer uses SD cards for the updates.
Hello! Just for info. Be careful with this update if you use Atomos ninja v or v+, there are some complain about external raw recording problems and dual iso ( 80/1600 instead of 640/12800) and there is no real fix for that right now). Thanks for your video and have a good day!

I have updated my A1. All good so far on numerous tests. Quite like it. I think they will look at battery drainage as I believe it uses it up more quickly but I did not check..

What are your thoughts on Sony lack of support for older cameras FIRMWARE. I have an A7R3 that sony never supported after 2019 and thinking about a new camera. Your input will be appreciated...Peace
The a7r3 is an older camera and the firmware needs for those generation cameras are not compatible with the needs of newly developed cameras. It’s the same with anything we have, phones, TVs etc. after a while manufacturers stop putting resources to older models to focus on the needs of newer models.
Yeah, I called Sony Tech and they acknowledged that 2.01 disabled WiFi and suggested 2.02 “fixed” that… then I asked “If 2.03 doesn’t work will Sony FIX my camera body for free?” “No” (And I have paid $$$ extra for Sony’s “extended warranty” but they don’t seem to want to commit to having to upgrade hardware at no cost 🤨 so I’m sticking with 1.32 as there is nothing that these FIRMWARE UPGRADED FROM HELL seem to provide that I need… and I’m not going to risk current functionality at the risk of having to PAY for their irresponsibility. (Not to mention those who say “I had no issue” and imply other users are lying (?) when the risk is paying $700 to fix a $6k camera… on an upgrade?!?) I’m satisfied with the A1 and two FX3s and full array of GM lenses that cost me some $20K to switch from Nikon for video shooting… but I will never buy another Sony camera or lens again and suggest others look elsewhere for their video Ecosystem!

Good evening , I updated my Sony A1 to firmware 2.0 and it gave me a lot of problems. I just updated to the new version 2.1 and the problems are still the same. Do you have a solution? One of the main ones is that I don't have a connection to the mobile and I can't use anything from creators. Thank you.
Hello I also now have an a1 that doesn't work properly, a 7800.- camera!!! I fear the worst!!! Many people feel the same way and many models are affected! The FX3, the A7SIII, the a1 and sometimes the FX6!!!!!! In April, after the 2.0 was recalled, I updated to the fixed version 2.01 and also connected the a1 to the new Creators app. Bluetooth and WiFi worked. Then on June 13th I updated to 2.02 via app and after about 8 weeks the Bluetooth and WiFi stopped working, the connection with the app is no longer possible, and the camera is no longer recognized in the Bluetooth or WiFi register. Either the firmware updates were never fixed and are still not correct, or many mainboards and chips in the a1 are not compatible with the firmware. Or have been damaged as a result. Sony has to provide new firmware, good firmware, in September in the hope that everything will be fine again afterwards. If not, the mainboard will have to be changed, which will be expensive. It's incredibly annoying that Sony can't manage to produce stable firmware and a stable app. The a1 has been enormously neglected in these almost 4 years, functions such as animal eye AF in the video are missing, focus stacking and pre-capture. How can it be that such an expensive camera, called The One, does not have these functions and with firmware updates all model series are fried on their motherboard?!!!

My computer reads my A7siii as connected, I modified the security for my M3 chip, but all thhe Softward Updater says is... "The camera is connected to the computer. Remove camera from the computer." Who else is facing this same issue?
It is extremely dangerous to let software violate the system security like this. Highly recommend to disable this abhorrent driver after they're done updating. Sony should be ashamed.

Hopefully they will come up with a better update. Still can’t install luts on the camera and also for highlights you cannot see it like FX 3
Yes but those are more cinema like features that should be on the fx3 not really the a7siii

Had no issues with updating a1 I did both updates back to back 1.35 and 2.0 I did it on a PC
