    Great series. Gets us right to the critical moments and the intricacies of the mental game. Good luck on your way to AGA Pro!

    I liked the video. I think it would be interesting also not just to focus on your mistakes, but also to focus on the key decisions you took. It's often the case where you've suddenly got sente, and you have to decide things like "do I attack his weak group for profit?" vs "do I play a quiet move and fix a problem" or "do I expand my moyo". It would be good to here your thinking at these critical points in your game. Good luck in your journey. It's good to have goals ahead of you. On kgs I'm at 1k and half way to 1d, which has been my goal for years. I can imagine cracking 2d, but I don't think I'll be ever good enough or invested enough for 3d. Too many other passions. One point though, if you post a tsumego, it would good if you at least said what the goal of the tsumego was e.g. "black to have a chance of living". Cheers. conan.

      This game I don’t thing there were any major things to point out though mostly just my mistakes, I’m sure other games will be different. And good luck getting to 1d! And I’m sure eventually you can rise to 3d!

    Sounds awesome; good luck on your journey! I've been OGS 3k for years now, and this is almost inspiring me to try to get OGS 1d finally

      PS: I'm regretting not commenting the tsumego answer, because I was actually correct, but I also assumed there must be something better than the ko I was missing, and I lucked into reading the atari first instead of realizing that it was no ko the other way, so I only half solved it, really

    Excited to hear about your new journey, Brandon! Aiming to become AGA pro in 2 years seems potentially outside one's personal realm of control since other individuals are likely striving for the same goal & the number of new AGA pros per year is so constrained. However, your plan of solving 100k tsumego & playing/reviewing 5 serious games/week seems like a solid study plan that can greatly increase your go skill regardless of whether AGA pro is actually achieved in 2 years or if it takes a bit longer. Either way, wishing you success & looking forward to learning from your experience.

      If good enough it’s within your control, so my goal is to get that good lol and I was told they were going to do the pro exam once per year from now on. And I like to set big goals with timelines, makes it more exciting and challenging. I have not seriously studied in a long time so looking forward to what I can accomplish!

      @@contrabandgo Agree getting good enough is a solid goal that seems achievable with enough determination! It's indeed a big inspiring goal. Excited to see your progress!

    100 thousand tsumego sounds crazy to me. That's 137 a day, and you can't be lazy a single day. Where are you getting the tsumego from? Are you planning to do life and death or what kind of tsumego are you going to do

      I use 101 weiqi because it has a lot of problems and all kinds of tsuemgo. Mostly ones I can solve in less than 30 seconds and then 10-20 harder ones

    Is the answer to the tsumego D16? Just a wild guess, this is definitely beyond my skill level.
    Edit: Yup, I definitely did not see that ko

      Yeah, it’s a bit tricky lol on 101 weiqi it had it as a 3k+ rank

    Where do you even find 100000 tsumegos

    • @contrabandgo
      @contrabandgo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      101 weiqi has a lot, but it won’t all be unique tsumego, the ones I struggle with I’ll be doing over and over until it’s natural.
