I recall reading an article about Under Siege 2 that mentioned its script was originally intended to be Speed 2. What stuck in my mind was it saying: 'Under Siege 2 filmed with a script intended for Speed 2; Speed 2 filmed with a script intended for Die Hard 3; Die Hard 3 filmed with a script intended for Lethal Weapon 4; and Lethal Weapon 4 was simply filmed without a script.'
Yeah a lot of writers share ideas and often are brought in to improve the script so it's not surprising many of these scripts were swapped around. Under siege 2 IMO is still Steven Seagal's best film ever. A lot of the 90s action films like die hard and lethal weapon shared many of the same writers. Truly an epic era of action films.
While not relevant to the video, I do have the point this out. Jan De Bont was originally attached to direct the first American Godzilla film then known as Godzilla 1994. De Bont was very passionate about the project and even hired the legendary Stan Winston to create the look for Godzilla, the mold still exists today. Unfortunately, Jan De Bont had a falling out with Tristar due to creative differences and budget reasons. The project eventually evolved into Roland Emmerich’s (in)famous Godzilla 1998 which remains a controversial entry for the series. The ship crash scene in Speed 2 cost a lot of money. Speed 2 wasn’t the best sequel, but I still enjoyed it, i mean I like the kickboxer direct to video sequels too. Great video!! Keep up the great work!
It's hard to believe they filmed that ship crashing scene which dragged the 10 minutes then it pans out and you see the ship only made a dent of 20 feet in the port. 😂

I would very much like it if you could discuss the movie Toys. Robin Williams was involved in 3 big movies that premiered in 1992 Aladdin, Ferngully, and Toys. Much has been made about Williams agreeing to voice the Genie in Aladdin under the strict understanding that Disney not go overboard with marketing his involvement in the film, and the studio's subsequent reneging of that agreement. It's been reported that Disney took active steps to sabotage the production of the rival animated film Ferngully (which Williams voice acted in at scale price because of his belief in the movie's environmentalist message). However, I believe the real reason for Williams' request was so as to not distract from audiences from his passion project Toys in which he played the starring role. I'd love to hear if you uncover any truth behind this.
A film people love to hate, yet I always enjoyed it for the sheer awful cheese it is, enjoyed it far more than the drivel shovelled by the M-She-U and DC, and most other so called action movies of the last 10-15 years. THEY did more hard to the action genre more than this movie ever did.
5:35 So they spent an extra $20 to reshoot some of the movie; the test audience also hated those scenes so they deleted the reshoot!?!?! Yikes... someone's career should have been over with that debacle.
This happens all the time in the movie industry. They actually know how to do it and fail. "Speed I" was too good. Maybe it would have been better to do something very similar than "Speed I".
They could have just done a bus again. Called it a copycat bomber. Put a cooler looking jump at the end and people probably would have been fine with it. Plus no filming on water.
Note to 90s self: make people fight on moving objects to make money - bus, train, plane, but not boat. We dodged a bullet with Will Smith not getting the Matrix role. He would have just slapped Agent Smith a few times and the movie would be over.

Another epic failure you could talk about is Spider Man 3 which tries to fit too much in 1 movie, and has multiple other issues including inane retcons.
It’s a little bit much to say that Jason Patrick’s acting career was instantly over after this movie. However, this piece of doggy poo definitely did not help it.

I'm Happy I never "Watch" this Movie. Because🤘Ted 'Theodore' Logan🤘 wasn't going to be in it. Plus who wants Drama on a Cruise either You Sink or Swim.
Air Force One and Con Air are better.
Both are legendary films of the 90s. I would add independence day die hard and lethal weapon to the action classics of the 90s.
Con Air is a piece of crap😂
Here's another Story of a Failure idea:
Fantastic Four (2015)
In my plans.
Turbulence is a fun movie. I actually prefer it to Speed 2: Cruise Control.
Some movies are unsequelables!
Idc I like speed 2. In respect however is it in anyway close to the first.
Hope floats 😂😂😂😂😂
One of the worst sequels ever made
Worst movie ever to come from a major studio.
Willem Dafoe will forever be the “leech man” to my brother and I. What a awful piece of crap this movie was.
You could do a video on why Double Dragon is a very poorly made video game movie, and how a faithful Rated R hardcore violent Double Dragon movie could be great and epic.
Another epic failure you could talk about is Spider Man 3 which tries to fit too much in 1 movie, and has multiple other issues including inane retcons.
Spider Man 3 is actually my favourite in the whole franchise.
Guess what con air actually won
It’s a little bit much to say that Jason Patrick’s acting career was instantly over after this movie. However, this piece of doggy poo definitely did not help it.
I still liked it!
Willem Dafoe, not William
Um dia esse filme vai ser aclamado pela crítica. E vai virar um clássico
Lol, no.
Jason Patrics hairline might be what killed his career
No mention of Passenger 57.....FOH
I was 9, and my dad rented the movie, after 20 min I decided to go out and play baseball with friends lol too much acting on Sandra bullocks end and got annoying. And I never watched another bullock movie again
So Jason Patrick sucks in real life like he did in entourage
The only good thing about this movie was Willem Dafoe
I enjoyed it, harmless silly fun
Is the narrator AI?
No.
Embarrassing
I thought it was a decent movie..
I liked it
