Despite its $155 million budget, "Alexander" grossed only $34 million in the United States. The worldwide distribution brought investors another $133 million, but the losses were still colossal.
Many blame Warner Brothers for the film's underperformance in the US. Following unsuccessful test screenings, the studio gave up on the film and cut its advertising budget in the US to a minimum.

Steven Seagal's last major failure
มุมมอง 7K4 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Steven Seagal’s career, like that of many other classic action stars, faltered in the mid-1990s. His films started failing one after another. This negatively affected the actor's subsequent studio productions. However, Steven's films' budgets didn't fall as quickly as Van Damme's, and if he had been a little luckier, he might have ended up in B category movie...

People knew him for leading roles in high-budget motion pictures, which earned him tens of millions of dollars. His future looked very bright. Piranha II: The Spawning (1982). The Story of the Film
มุมมอง 2K7 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Although "Piranha II: The Spawning" is not actually a James Cameron movie, his involvement in the film has a fascinating backstory. In 1980, producer Ovidio Assonitis worked with Warner Bros to produce the low-budget horror film "Piranha II". The studio agreed to give him $500,000 on the condition that the film be directed by an American director.
Executive Decision (1996). The story of the Film
มุมมอง 15K9 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Steven Seagal's career took off in the early 1990s, bringing the world some great movies that are still worth watching today. However, the actor's rapid rise in box office earnings and fees led to disappointing results, and his career suffered an equally rapid decline. In the mid-90s, Seagal's inflated ego resulted in a major flop with "ON DEADLY GROUND (1994...
The Postman (1997). The Story of Failure
มุมมอง 16K9 วันที่ผ่านมา

Not only did the movie fail at the American box office, but it also received five Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor, and Worst Director. Critics' average score dropped below 4 out of 10. Despite an $80 million budget, the movie grossed only ...

#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Anyway, when Disney offered Bruce Willis the lead role in the upcoming film, he accepted it without hesitation. And because he really liked the script, he willingly accepted a significant pay cut for the chance to participate as a producer. Willis received $7 million for the movie, while his previous two roles earned him $15 and $16 million. Naturally, he did...

One day, after playing hockey together, Charbanic showed Reeves the script for his future film. It was supposed to be a small and independent film, a modest first step towards world domination. Keanu Reeves liked the script a...
The Demise of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Career
มุมมอง 7K13 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors Van Damme became popular by participating in the movie “Bloodsport,” for which he received only 25,000 dollars. The movie had a very low budget and was shot by the studio Cannon Group, who were not particularly invested in the film. When the footage was brought to the studio, the producers Menahem Golan and Yoram Globus saw no potential in the tape. They deci...
Deep Rising (1998). The Story of the Film
มุมมอง 5K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors In 1998, the fantastic horror film Deep Rising was released on big screens. The movie failed with a loud bang, which led to a chain of events that few people know about. Today I would like to go back about 25 years ago and remember one film that died together with Deep Rising, but nobody paid attention to it.
Deep Blue Sea (1999). The Story of the Film

In other words, it was supposed to be a typical Hollywood film plot with one person wanting to save the wo...
Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997). The Story of Failure
มุมมอง 23K18 วันที่ผ่านมา
#movie #show #cinema #facts #actors The $160 million movie, released on June 13, 1997, only made $48 million at the box office. “Waterworld's” resounding box office failure in 1995 quickly paled in comparison. Everyone involved in the production immediately began avoiding any mention of it. Sandra Bullock once described "Speed 2" as "the biggest piece of crap ever made." Jan de Bont, the film's...

Nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be. Thank God it didn't finish Farrell as an actor, he's fantastic thesedays.
Please make video on "The Greem Hornet"" 2011
I don't care I love this film it isn't the greatest but it's still worth watching n worth seeing to see this time period I'm still glad for it got made because there isn't much films or shows set around this time or the Hellenistic period in general.
🤮🤮🤮
I actually liked the Lone Ranger when it came out.
Classic movie. One of my favorites
Loved this movie as a kid and still love it today.
I will still say this film and book inspired Fallout series of games and other post apocalyptic stories.
How does anybody watch Speed and not see that the chemistry between the leads was the key to women liking the movie? Thats the difference between success and huge success
I remember hearing about this movie in passing, but the promotions were the worst. No one had any idea if the movie was sci fi, or action or what. It's just crazy to give anyone a 260 mil budget and have them fail so badly because of way too many bad decisions. I'm shocked this movie even made it to theaters. I don't know a single person who saw it back in 2012.
I thought the live action Jungle book was a hit back in the early 90s??
$30 mil. budget vs $ 70 mil. box office, made some money
William Dafoe? You put so many errors in your videos that it's almost as if you don't actually like films.
It said Willem in video.
Bad boys was a massive success what is the narrative saying is nonsensical foolishness 🤔 🙄 😒.
I didn's say it was a failure, stop posting stupid comments. I said all 3 movies did well.
Only people that doesn't know how to use the 3 shells dislike this movie!
Way before it's time
I remember watching the movie at the theater. When it came out. It was so boring that I felt sleepy 😴..
Alexander the Great is one of my historical fav heroes. Why? Because in the story, he took half a legion to find my patron saint, Diogenes of Sinope...and said to him how much he wanted to find him and admire hime...and Diogenes said : "could you stand a bit to my left and block the sun. Who are you?"
Steven Seagal does prove we can't always say "films were better in our day" Stolen a living that knob 😂
Tango and Cash was also a really fantastic Arcade game!
Body positivity….
Это же видео я смотрел 4 года назад на канале GreenGrass. Текст тот же, монтаж другой)
Так и есть, но текст на английском.
I loved this movie. Every time it came on during the cable tv years, I'd sit down and watch it.
I didn't realize Donner produced Maverick in the 90s. That's some serious foresight!
I enjoyed this movie
I love this movie, very gritty and funny. That opening scene on the football pitch was insane
Alexander is an amazing film, probably one of the most underrated films of all time, a fucking masterpiece. Fuck the naysayers.
yeah, well Sly Stallone Directed _Rocky,_ dude. Sly one man banded it right into world icon status. so I don't wanna hear anything about Sylvester Stallone being incompetent or cringe or 3:16 ohno GOD oh NO what? why?? HE chose this? on purpose?? Sylvester Stallone one man banded _Staying Alive,_ the hilarious broadway dance sequel to _Saturday Night Fever._
Not me, JD Dredd fans did. JD is NOT his character. If ppl didn't like helmet removal - their choice. Nobody cares what they want, nobody cares what you want or not want to hear.
I liked the movie too.
Love this movie. I was in Andrews, Texas for a funeral and my dad and I went to the small 2 screen theatre and saw it. Great memories
You forgot I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
Poor casting, poor script, but there were some high points. A lot of unfulfilled potential. Too bad
First half of the movies is epic, after the the victory over Darius, the movie just felt way too dragged.
Literally walked out of this 🧚♀️ movie
Wow. Thw first 30 seconds of this video were a real mask off moment. Just another whiner, after all.
Whiner is you middle name irl.
Horrible histories has a better alexander
It’s crazy a lot Carpenters masterpieces flopped. He was ahead of its time.
I've read the original script and IT was utter shit. The script doctoring on this one should be taught in film schools as how to do it properly.
I don't think Reynolds is a bad actor. However, he was a terrible choice for Hal Jordan. Maybe Guy Gardner.
I actually liked the movie.
I really love the Ultimate Cut. Much better crafted than either cut. It's a flawed movie on many aspects but it has a special nostalgic feeling, and it will always have a soft spot on me.
Oliver Stone is a cvnt, putinist and enemy of Free World.
I love this movie
Never forget that Oliver Stone is a Pootin d-rider.
I got through 20 minutes before I realised I was watching “Day’s of Our Lives” in Ancient Greece.
I love this movie.
The soundtrack by Vangelis was quite good.
wait, how was it a failure if it made a profit?
It made a profit for WB, the company who invested only 35% in budget, got all US distr. rights and didn't give enough $$$ for marketing.
@@KinoReel-c4f right so you're saying private investors didnt get their money back?
I believe - no. Maybe after 20 years they broke even. Waterworld movie did.
@@KinoReel-c4f Then I misunderstood your video because from the numbers I thought that with the dvd/sales they made lots of $ from that!
Only WB, because they had rights in US. I happens often when big company wins, but other small investors lose. I have couple more videos with similar outcome.
I didn’t think it was that bad of a movie!
I grew up with the TV series as a kid. This - thing - wasn't it.
Say what you want but I love Speed 2 ❤️
