    I have a 2014 model and love it (160k km). Most common problem with mine is everything regarding front suspension. I change yearly the front lower arm assembly, 21 inch and DRC dont like pot holes that much. Very reliable car for me, not once did it break donw. DRC is a very good suspension but air suspension is still good and more reliable overall.

    I LOVE my 2016 S7 with sport diff and once placed into Dynamic mode, the exhaust note is pretty darned nice with it's rasp and modest backfire "gargle". Not as loud or robust as my prior 2017 F-Type R but pretty close and it has the 2 extra seats. Skip to 9 minutes in for "issues".

      Why not just answer the question ? Maybe he can afford it maybe he's just curious and wants to know real world costs? Abit unfair to assume.
      Considering today's astronomical fuel prices, even if you have money, for a lot of people buying the car isn't the big issue. It's if they were to have it as a daily, would they literally be killing themselves to have to refuel regularly or could they get away with fueling once a week etc with a soft foot? I also think you're completely wrong. If I were to buy a tdi I wouldn't even bother to ask the mpg because I know it'd be 50+. I was lucky enough to purchase my rs3 this year and I'm not rich by any stretch, just try and be savvy. To save on service stamps, I did my brakes (pads and discs all around and a full major service pars and labour) for about 1100. I literally saved half the money because I bought the parts new from ebay/tps and had the work done independently.

    • @FontainMotorsLtd

      On a sensibly used, standard car running costs are largely routine maintenance and consumables rather than repairs.
      The difficulty you will find in inviting open feedback online is that almost all of the replies to such questions come from the minority of people who have had a problem, or persons who've read these stories and are repeating them as gospel.
      It's unusual that someone goes online to say "I own this car and it's been fine", despite the fact that most ownership experiences are exactly this.

    With the reliability of the car, nothing was mentioned about the turbos and the oil screen filters. Is this not an issue?

      @bigmatt2896 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i was about to ask the same thing

    • @FontainMotorsLtd
      @FontainMotorsLtd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's less common than a lot of sources will have you believe. The only thing passing through the turbo oil screen is oil, so if that's kept clean a problem is unlikely. Stick to annual oil changes, or a maximum of 10k miles, warm it up sensible, and let it cool after driving hard. Contaminated oil (fuel or coolant) could emulsify and cause a blockage.

    • @bigmatt2896
      @bigmatt2896 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FontainMotorsLtd wasnt there an upgraded part to help reduce the chance of it?
      heard some horror stories about fuel pumps and oil scraper rings too..........

    • @FontainMotorsLtd
      @FontainMotorsLtd  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There is a newer version of the part, yes. You could certainly fit the newer oil feed as a piece of preventative maintenance but the advice we generally offer is to keep the oil clean and exercise mechanical sympathy. Just good maintenance.
      I often see scary looking stories of failures pop up on here, forums etc. and take care to take them with a pinch of salt. There's quite a famous forum thread with a badly broken rear differential on a modified RS6. We'll never know all of the facts behind such situations but when modifying and/or pushing-hard already very powerful cars there is absolutely extra risk involved.
      On exactly that note if you look in Audi's database on RS6 repairs under the subject of failed turbochargers the very first thing Audi require a technician to check is that the vehicle hasn't been modified. The C7 RS6 remains a very strong car mechanically and will soak up a remarkable amount of punishment, but the best route to reliability will always be good maintenance.

    • @Mische2k
      @Mische2k ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanna add something here for people who wants to buy a car with this engine.
      In 2022 Audi had a recall for all the cars with the 4.0 engine of this generation (S8, S6, RS6, S7, RS7).
      They have changed my oil screen filter for free. It took them 2 days.
      So if you wanna buy a C7 car, make sure it has got the new filter. Maybe you can ask Audi if you have the car ID. (don't know how you call it in english)

  • @Pat-tricks

    Great info and video!
    I have dreamed about this car for many years, so now on saturday two days ago it ended with the trade of an Audi RS6 2013 Dynamic.
    The car has now had 7 owners, it has followed all services and is top equipped with dynamic, Miltek exhaust with downpipe and 22 "rims. 87,000km
    So after driving it for two days I do not feel anything negative. The only thing is that I think it gears a little slow? this applies when I drive calmly in the city / streets.
    Looks like you can a lot about this cars, i am living i norway, maybe i can call you on facetime one day so you maybe can tell me more about the car and what i should check out? Thanks :-)

    • @FontainMotorsLtd
      @FontainMotorsLtd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Patrick - thanks for watching, and glad you found the video useful. I can't offer telephone support I'm afraid.
      The symptoms you describe may be difficult to diagnose if the car's running aftermarket software, but you could start with some preventative maintenance like basic adaptations and a gearbox oil change.

    I've seen some horror stories with 12k EUR repair bills on RS6 C7 that have been tuned. So please steer clear of all cars that have been tuned in any way! Also don't buy any which had more than 2 previous owners and didn't have preventative maintenance and regular checkups done. If you get one do not neglect maintenance yourself and schedule service intervals in either in Audi workshop or somewhere where they know what they're doing and work with only original parts.

      In truth I find their resonated system little upgrade over the factory sport exhaust (which Audi judged very well), and the non-resonated system that a lot of people go for to be harsh and droning. They tend to add volume at the expense of everything else.
      The Audi Sport/Akrapovic system is lovely and a genuine upgrade to the tone of the exhaust but it is incredibly expensive.
