I remember seeing this video when it came out and being absolutely blown away. This record is awesome, and mk.gee is an absolute mystery and legend to me. Thank you for taking the time!
i actually think he has a lav mic attached to his shirt in this live sesh, although it could still be overdubbed. if you look on his shirt in some of the clips you can see this little black thing poking out. its kinda hard to see because of the shaking camera but I would guess that's a lav mic. if it is the case that he recorded this live version with that lav mic, id say that's a pretty unique way to record vocals.
I LOVE YOU SO MUCHHHH THANK YOU!!! i'm a musician myself and a huge fan of dijon and seeing you break down some of his work is like seeing how michelin star chefs recipes are broken down and made lol, it means soooo much to me and helps me as an aspiring artist soo much. This series is soo fun and you are really giving so much insight and additional knowledge on music in general and production. thank you for this man, I can't wait to see more of you :)
This is really cool! I hadn't heard of dijon before but I love the vibe of that track. I'm looking forward to hearing about the drums! I wonder what's up with the algorithm on this video. I'd be curious to see if re-naming it does anything. it might be trying to serve it to an audience that is too far from your usual niche.
Hey Red, thanks for commenting! I'm pretty sure the issue has to do with content ID being used to automatically take down any videos using this track. The video is "transformative" though so to get it up Matt had to dispute the copyright strike and it seems this whole process seems to have killed the reach for this video. Glad you liked it though and hopefully we can get the second video up without as many issues!
It took a little while to get to it but check out the most recent video on the Weiss Advice channel, there's a little surprise hidden at the start for you!

i agree.
First thing I thought seeing the video literally. where is his mic? is he wearing a lav????😮😂😂
i thought i spotted him holding a little mic in his hand, like one of the ones you would attach to your shirt on a talk show or something
I think Ryan uses a Flanger which adds a little bit of a Chorus sound to the second guitar
Love the video!
