Allison Menard but the point of the mixtape is to be different from the original it's suppose to let other artist get their take at the song to publicise the musical and just get something different
I think this song appeals to almost everyone because we all have areas where we want to have a breakthrough. For Hamilton, it was the poverty and probably his past. For you, it may be academics, or work, or sports, or arts. I wish you the very best of luck in your pursuit of your dreams :) Let us all not throw away our shot!
@@drorfrid the thing is, The Roots are heavily inspired by Eminem for their new songs including this as a mixtape. Eminem even had the chance to perform with them at Fallon once
This version is awesome, i love the original a bit more but i can fully appreciate how well this is written and performed. in a a way i wanted Davved Diggs to run on stage and start singing Lafayette's part though lmao
The best part of this song is right at the front and right at the end with NATE RUESS singing the Woahs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Beautiful voice, easy to recognise, beautiful man (soon to be father - congratulations Charlotte & Nate). Love from the UK.

I screamed when I played the first track(not knowing it was the mixtape yet), and my eyes lit up. Love this so much, and good job to everyone involved in this masterpiece.
TBH, I think this version is better than the studio version. In the studio cover, they're off beat on the chorus, and it made it unlistenable for me. At least they're on beat in this! I wish I could understand the lyrics better though.
I feel like some of the words don't make sense together and you can hardly hear the words. The guy should articulate and I liked the original lyrics better. It was a creative spin-off though.
again no emotional investment at all it feels like a generic rap song his voice was obviously not right for this because when I hear the original I feel like yep that was incredible Lin Manuel Miranda and the rest of the cast members put there heart and soul into their pefomonces it's so frustrating to see people who obviously don't care about this perform some of my favourite songs . sorry if I offended you
