America was founded by settlers and conquerors not immigrants. There was no country before America to immigrate to. People conquered and settled the land, they didn't immigrate to it.

Nicholas Lee There was not a European recognized ‘country’, but land that had names and territories from the native people who were there first. Europeans immigrated to the land and colonized the people living there.

@@keroihmels6463 So the Europeans crossed defined borders into states with defined laws and institutions to accept immigrants with the purpose of living in said nations?
Nope. There were no defined borders, immigration laws, or modern institutions. Furthermore the Europeans didn't want to live under a native American nation.
They *conquered* and settled the land. The very first Americans were explorers, conquerers, and settlers. Not immigrants.

@@user-mx9ue9ly6c Wow... apparently history is your mind is so different... All these settlers you were talking about were immigrants who left Europe, later on slaves and then indentured servants and bonds men. Please do not change history to push your own agenda.... This is the sad state of affairs of the world today ... real history needs to be taught and recorded.

Ojberretta Berretta how ignorant are you? Mexicans are a mix of Europeans and indigenous people ( most notably the Aztecs). I have no idea where you got that they stole their land??? And yes, the majority of Mexicans today speak spanish because Mexico was under the spanish empire’s rule for about three centuries. Some indigenous languages are still spoken in Mexico such as Nahuatl, Yucatec Maya, and Mixtec although then number of people who can and do speak any of those languages amount to nowhere near the amount of people who speak Spanish. I think you’re confusing Mexico and the United States. 🤔

@Geto Daco Yeah, that's not true. President Polk claimed that Mexico attacked U.S forces on U.S. territory without any proof. Abraham Lincoln was known at the time for insisting that the president say the exact spot where it happened. They never presented proof, and it turns out the scuffle actually happened on disputed territory. But James K. Polk was an avid believer in manifest destiny, as it was popular at the time. It's not out the question that he purposefully lied to justify war with Mexico in 1847. Don't spread lies, especially those born of nationalist rhetoric.

Jody Lynna I understand you're sad. I'm just saying that the blood of our ancestors has already dried on their hands. Me? I don't have a trace of DNA of the murdered innocent on my hands.
Listen, I'm tired of people kicking and screaming about me being a wolf because of my ancestors. It's just as racist. If you mean to judge me for something my ancestors supposedly done then you're absolutely horrid. No one should ever even be compensated either for slavery, because in the U.S it's illegal, and everyone who went through it has died. So no one felt that pain.
      *However.*
Though I said that, I am avidly against Trump. Though I hate those who kick and scream over trivial things, this doesn't dispel the constant pain and suffering that immigrants often go through. Even so much as risking their lives to get to the other side.
I was rooting for them this whole video, and I realized we're finally taking a stand against it. Though the pain is still prevalent, people are finally talking.

Perdón, Why bash someone for being fluent in music? Apparently you dont understand what he's saying, its ok you dont really have to..unless your gonna comment. Theres No need to understand the words to understand the feelings....there is lots of struggle, pain and intensity in this song coming From all walks of immigration. Its not just hispanics that immigrate to the states. Russians, Ethiopians,Iranians,Bharatiya (indians), Palestinians, Israeli, Jamaicas, Chinese, Japanese , african, Filipino or even Canadian. Yes thats right canadian....so... dont go showing your ass because an outside FINALLY gets the struggle. Dave Ivancheck you know the original Americans were immigrants right? You seem very patriotic about your country, why can’t other people that came from different countries. Americans get a lot of benefits from immigrants, because they use them. Immigrants have to work harder than Americans and usually paid less. That’s why Americans should appreciate immigrants and letting them express themselves. This is from an American

    I COME IN PEACE!
    Here are the lyrics:
    {Intro: J. Period}
You know, and it gets into this whole issue of border security, you know, who's gonna say that the borders are secure? We've got the House and the Senate debating this issue, and it's... it's really astonishing that in a country founded by Immigrants, "immigrant" has somehow become a bad word. So the debate rages on and we continue....
    [Intro: "Yorktown" sample]
    [Hercules Mulligan]
And just like that it’s over, we tend to our wounded, we count our dead
    [John Laurens]
Black and white soldiers alike wonder if this really means freedom…
    [George Washington]
    Not yet
    [Verse 1: K’Naan]
    I got 1 job, 2 job, 3 when I need them
I got 5 roommates in this one studio, but I never really see them
And we all come to America trying to get a lap dance from Lady Freedom
But now Lady Liberty is acting like Hillary Banks with a pre-nup
Man I was brave, sailing on graves
Don’t think I didn’t notice those tombstones disguised as waves
I’m no dummy, here is something funny, you can be an immigrant
    without risking your lives
Or crossing these borders with thrifty supplies
All you got to do is see the world with new eyes
    [Chorus]
Immigrants, we get the job done
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    We get the job done
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
Immigrants, we get the job done
    [Verse 2: Snow Tha Product]
It’s a hard line when you’re an import
    Baby boy, it’s hard times
    When you aint send for
Racists feed the belly of the beasts
    With they pitchforks, rich chores
Done by the people that get ignored
    Ya se armó
    Ya se despertaron
    It’s a whole awakening
La alarma ya sonó hace rato
    Los que quieren buscan
    Pero nos apodan como vagos
    We are the same ones
    Hustling on every level
    Ten los datos
Walk a mile in our shoes
    Abróchense los zapatos
I been scoping ya dudes, y’all ain’t working been working like I do
I’ll outwork you, it hurts you
You claim I’m stealing jobs though
Peter Piper claimed he picked them, he just underpaid Pablo
But there ain’t a paper trail when you living in the shadows
We’re America’s ghost writers, the credit’s only borrowed
It’s a matter of time before the checks all come
    But…
    [Chorus]
Immigrants, we get the job done
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    We get the job done
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Immigrants, we get the job-
    Not yet
    [Bridge: Snow Tha Product]
    The credit is only borrowed
    It’s America's ghost writers, the credit's only borrow-borrowed
    It’s America's ghost writers
    America's ghost writers
    America's ghost writers, the credit's only borrow-borrowed
It’s America’s ghost writers, a credit is only borrowed
It’s America’s ghost writers, a credit is only borrowed
It’s America’s ghost writers, a credit is only borrowed
    It’s
    [Hook]
Immigrants, we get the job done
    [Verse 3: Riz MC]
Ay yo aye, immigrants we don’t like that
Na they don’t play British empire strikes back
They beating us like 808’s and high hats
At our own game of invasion, but this ain’t Iraq
Who these fugees what did they do for me
    But contribute new dreams
Taxes and tools, swagger and food to eat
Cool they flee war zones, but the problem ain’t ours
Even if our bombs landed on them like the Mayflower
    Buckingham Palace and Capitol Hill
Blood of my ancestors had that all built
It’s the ink you print on your dollar bill, oil you spill
Red line on the flag you hoist when you kill
But still we say “look how far I come”
    Hindustan, Pakistan, to London
To a galaxy far from their ignorance
    Cos-
    [Hook]
Immigrants, we get the job done
    [Verse 4: Residente]
    Por tierra o por agua
    Identidad falsa
    [Chorus]
Immigrants, we get the job done
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    Look how far I come
    We get the job done

buchner funnel the difference, you idiot, is that America has a looot of different races residing in it. There are more POC than whites in DC and also in NYC and many other cities. But POC get so little representation and everything is whitewashed there, giving a misguided view. In India, it is usually like 95% Indians in every state and city so white people don't need to be included in our shows to correctly represent our country. Same for most Asian countries. To correctly represent America, whites, blacks, latinos and all the other races have to be included. Also, I'm Indian so I know what I'm talking about when it concerns my country.

the beginning, saying that the word "immigrant" scares us is so incredibly true. when I was in the 6th grade, we had a family of Mexican immigrants move into our small town. one of their kids were in my grade and they were also related to one of my friends and someone who was in my church. everyone was scared of them because there were rumors that they had came over illegally. (found out later once the kid learned english that it wasn't true) but my teachers made sure to welcome the kid by teaching us some spanish. fast forward a few months, the kid already speaks basic english and can hold a conversation with us. she's hilarious and fun to be around. I wasn't buddy buddy with her, but I would talk to her if I could. When we got into the 8th grade, we were paired together for an assignment. it was about trying to solve a problem. we tackled immigration in America and how it needs to have less regulation. she moved away the next year. so we really don't have anything to be scared of. it's all of those drug and gun smuggling stories that scares us from seeing that they're people just like us.

As a daughter of immigrants this....
This is my past, my life, my heritage.
People don't give a thought about us
We work so hard for this, to get here
To get a better life for our family, friends
And now it feels like it was all for nothing
Our hard work was for nothing.
But now this show our side of the story.
And I hate when people assume things and just think it's true.
We are good people, trying to do good for our family and our life.
And no one sees that, they just people "stealing jobs" or "bad people"
    But this song...
    I appreciate this, thank you💖
"Immigrants, we get the job done"
OMG people actually liked my comment💖 Thank you🖤

Cheezy Ensaymada _You’re acting like it’s an easy process. It’s not, but don’t get me wrong! I’m glad your family came in legally, but unfortunately not everyone has that kind of luck. It irritates me to my soul when people believe it’s just a "easy and fast” process for any immigrant. It’s not._

8 years later I come here because I was watching an Spanish video that explains how Rene (Residente) became to be the best monster Spanish rapper that he is right now. In the video they mentioned this song and let me tell you that this song is a jewel 💎!! Residente is out of this world with the lyrics that he used for this song.
