Poison is an American glam metal band formed in 1983, in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The most successful incarnation of the band consists of lead singer and rhythm guitarist Bret Michaels, drummer Rikki Rockett, bassist and pianist Bobby Dall, and lead guitarist and backing vocalist C.C. DeVille. The band achieved huge commercial success in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s and has sold 16 million records in the United States and over 50 million albums worldwide.
Richard Allan Ream (born August 8, 1961), better known by the stage name Rikki Rockett, is an American drummer for rock band Poison. The band has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide and 15 million records in the United States alone.
The St. Francis Dam was a concrete gravity dam located in San Francisquito Canyon in Los Angeles County, California, United States, built from 1924 to 1926 to serve Los Angeles's growing water needs. It catastrophically failed in 1928 due to a defective soil foundation and design flaws, triggering a flood that claimed the lives of at least 431 people. The collapse of the dam is considered to be one of the worst American civil engineering disasters of the 20th century and remains the second-greatest loss of life in California's history, after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire.

I love Poison songs most esp the 'Something to believe in', 'Ride the wind', 'Come Hell or High Water'. Thanks Scott for collaborating with Rikki. Hope to see other band member from different bands. I would love to see if time permits 'Ed Roland' from Collective Soul or 'Gunner Matthew' from Nelson.

I meet Rikki on tour in 99. He is without a doubt, a down to earth good guy. A good drummer but even better person. I watched his tour diary this past tour. Rikki is good people.

There's a haunted bridge in Statesville NC and late nights in August it appears and the conductor appears to help people stranded on the road.

I used to work at the Ventura County Recorder’s Office and saw a bunch of death certificates for the victims of the dam disaster. Most were John and Jane Does due to entire families being wiped out.
I love going around cemeteries and even in the night

Way to memorize those souls in monument status .
The St. Francis Dam failed under the direction of William Mulholland .He was originally hired as a ditch digger and was a self taught engineer who was the project manager and chief engineer for this project 9 years later . The loss was ruled as failure due to hydrostatic uplift . This means it was inevitable, unless water could have been kept from reaching the foundation.Inspection ,pressure grouting, and drainage wells /deep cut-off walls are commonly used to prevent or remove percolation, but in this case it only would have been temporary and postponed the failure.
So tragic .
I spent 20 years inspecting underwriting and managing catastrophic property and casualty losses.
It ALWAYS starts with failure to comply with recommendations /ignoring status inspections .
What we can say in regards to this loss is that we now have engineers that are licensed and trained far better we have statutes and laws to protect to protect the habitants of municipalities better because of catastrophic losses . Unfortunately, progress came at a price of at least 431 lives .

I saw Poison in 1988, they opened for David Lee Roth at Maple Leaf Gardens. They had just debuted the songs “Nothin’ But a Good Time” and “Fallen Angel” from their, what was once, their upcoming album “Open Up & Say Ahh”.
DAMN IT!!! 15:58 Scott, so glad you brought up 'Life loves a tragedy' that song is my favorite song in history of music. That album got me through a tough time as a teen and that song especially, and ill never forget it.

Yes, Rikki is right. When I'm there, I feel total peace. It's really quiet. Also if you go north up the road & make a right turn where the power plant sign is, there's thee most serene little set of houses where people live. I've never seen anything like it.

I knew about this dam for a few years now. I climbed one of the huge boulders which is actually part of the dam & I stuck a cross at the top of the boulder. Haven't been back to see If it's still there....

I work for a hold hotel/resort on Florida neatly 100 yrs old the other night our outdoor bar was closing up but the TVs and sound system wouldn't stay turned off they finally got everything off were leaving and the sound system came on full blast for like 30 sec then shut off bartender said she'd have been really freaked out if she was alone but another person was there with her, as she was talking to me I got chills. She said the same thing Lauren said about spirit energy affects electronis etc. I got chills again when Lauren said it.
