I grew up there. Climbed the lighthouse stairs one time. My great grandpa's old store was featured and that little shack used to be a barber shop. My aunt's husband created the world's smallest police station. Johnny Marabella worked for the local telephone company.

Wicked Willies Without a doubt, it was A spectacular place where you could have a good time with friends and locals who lived in the area. I think that this place must have been closed for more than a decade, I would say about 13 or fourteen years, super good memories..❤

I just commented on Chris' channel on the video about Carabelle. Tell her I was 10 and 15 during our fishing trips to Carabelle. My grandfather was in the army during WW2. He trained as a landing craft and tug boat pilot at Camp Carabelle. He was 1 of only 3 people in his original unit to survive the war. He won a citation for a major tug boat mission that covered a great water distance as a tug pilot. I have a great steel model of the landing craft my grandfather piloted during the war. Mybgrand mother gave it to me before my papaw passed in 1975. We fished Dog Island a lot when we were there. My cousin took his boat both times. Carabelle was a blast as a small quaint fishing town.

Thank you so much for this video! I absolutely loved the Story the elderly lady told, her voice was so pleasant! I cant wait to take my daughter back there we had such a good time in Carrabelle we literally fell in love with the place! So much interesting history there i often wonder what Carrabelle was like before it was plundered and the trees destroyed! Definitely subbing! Your dry humor and wordplay is low key hilarious had me rollin!

US 98 from Panama City to south of Tallahassee is one of the nicest drives in the state, up there with going through the Keys. There are 3 lighthouses along the way, all of which you can climb. Port St. Joe, Apalachicola, Carrabelle, all wonderful old sceinc Florida.

@@Trtevoorryu It is, isn't it? The only bad stretch is between Perry and Old Town, since there's nothing there. I was always afraid of having a car breakdown there, but never did. But overall, it's a great way to see a lot of old Florida

Nice haircut Jay! Carrabelle Florida was really cool and filled with lots of history! It had many great museums especially the story about the Tarpan. You were brave to go up those lighthouse steps, I was nervous every step for you. It was nostalgic seeing the class trips to WDC that’s where my class went too (back in my day) as CTG says!
Great vlog and I learned a lot.
Enjoy the rest of your family Thanksgiving weekend!
