I got one when I turned 19 now 20, saved to buy the car outright and paid the insurance monthly at £190... you can do the maths 😂 but just sold it as i needed a bigger car for work etc. Miss it now tho 😔
I had a stage 2 st at 18 and it was by far the most fun I've had in a car. They are very affordable, insurance is the only worry. As long as you work for it and are not in UNI then you should be okay. I'm now on to a RS3 and sometimes i miss the usability of the ST around town, definitely a possibility for youngsters who work for it.
@T Lynam Honestly mate i just saved up for it. Didn't really understand finance back then, now though finance is definitely a option.

260hp on a standard turbo not a chance they only capable on a standard turbo is 240/250hp so the turbo will not last long

REND OM depends where you live how long you been driving for and miles and job and so on
Got a MK8 fiesta ST and insurance on the new mk8 fiesta st is a lot lower that mk7 due to the new engine. I'm 21 and my insurance is about 40% lower than a mk7 st
I’m a cupra man not a fan of the way the fiesta looks at front think it the way the lights are but that’s me
Love the mk7 st, but here in Ireland, if an insurer got a call from a 17 or 18 year old asking for a quote on a mapped st, they'd most likely hang up. Either that or have them get a loan for their premium

I don't think the fact it's an ST-3 has anything to do with the recaros, the recaros come on the ST from base ST-1 or ST-2 spec I believe and also with ST-3 you have no choice regarding keyless entry, it comes as part of the pack whereas the ST-1 and ST-2 don't come with keyless as standard from security perspective

Enjoy your vids mate but they mostly seem to be “young driver” videos all of a sudden. You should reviews cars as cars like you used to with owners there too maybe?
Really young drivers should get a cheap banger and drive it for a couple of years to get experience under their belt and being fair cheap cars aren’t the awful crap you could get when I passed my test that still had a manual choke and 50hp. Too many young lads think they can drive and maybe they can but that doesn’t = experience dealing with other drivers and how badly or erratically they drive. Not to mention getting yourself wildly into debt before you are 20.
Sounds boring I know, but waiting a bit will mean you hopefully have a clean license after a few years and much cheaper insurance
I had one of these as my first car and it wasn’t to bad to run (1.6ltr 4 pot) kept it stock and upgraded recently to an RS (still young 21)

the most common hot hatch on the road, so boring. I've got a corsa vxr as it was between that and this. corsa all day long, felt better to drive, felt more powerful, which it is, just a better experience driving it.

@@yomomma3988 don't think so mate. a know a few people who test drove both the st and vxr, and they all said the vxr was better to drive, plus the fact the st's are soon common that they are boring. why blend in when you can easily stand out?

Corsa VXR Arctic edition is probably one of the best looking cars on the road and they drive amazing so much fun. Smiles per gallon is up there with the best so much more powerful once remapped 220 bhp is perfect for fwd 👍

@@archiedoughballs6599 180 standard (200 on overboost) stage 1 will roll 22Xbhp and stage 2 will gain maybe 10 peak hp on that, a good map like nexus only rolls in the 250's there's no chance a peron map is @260

You'll find the young kids are having the S, no chance can any kid afford an st unless mommy and daddy a full of cash. I have 2 st, passed my test in my st. Super fun cars but also I wouldn't want kids driving them as staging it requires skill also.

Dno what the hates for, Stage 2 fiesta ST is perfectly attainable for a young driver. I had mine at 18 and only works out at £240 a month on a bank loan

Young drivers are already buying these... in collossal abundance. Every other baseball cap wearing, skin fade bellend owns a fiesta st or ecoboost. Bored of seeing the sodding things. Be nice if they bought something else or at least did something other than a remap and a mountune sticker.
@Townsy 876 Definitely someone who hasn’t drove one i am guessing ,I am 18 with one and it is a all round package 230bhp quaife diff + much more and I have had someone offer me a manual mk7 golf R as a swap because he missed the way his drove so much which he part ex for the golf so that must mean something, drive one on some good twistys and it might just change your mind completely

The only other option for 18 year olds or at least I had because of insurance is a polo gti realistically but the 1.4 although it has a better interior apart from the seats I know which one I would prefer, even stage one on those 1.4s are dicey i believe
When I was 18 I had a 1.25 fiesta that I bought for £600 because £300 a month finance + 2.8k on insurance wasn't an option
I think the st is so common because it's literally the cheapest small car you can get which can easily get 200hp+

Most young drivers finance these. LB TV, B7 TMY had these. They are good cars but I wouldn't recommend young people financing these especially if your working part time and a student. Is not great financially.

I work part time and am a student and i easily run my st, even spent upwards of 3K on mods with my insurance being £1.1k per year - just need to work hard and everything falls into place

MJ Rahman I get fuck all from my parents, I work 28 hours part time whilst at uni and still live at home so all my money goes on diggs, modding the whip and running it currently stage 2 just now, I’m only 19 going on 20 👍🏻
