However, could you please make a short video showing more details about the stylus and the properties when writing (small size letters), drawing, etc. Things like precision, speed (delay), feeling (soft, hard), does the stylus scrash the screen? does it need a screen protector? etc.. Thanks in advance..

The Kirin 960S actually has a neural processing unit NPU similar to Kirin 970 and it’s more efficient so it was clocked down. The original 960 had throttling and heat issues in past phones. The 960s is basically a clocked down version of the Kirin 970.
I hope we get the GPU turbo then with an update for better gaming, thank you for sharing.

I own the normal version (not the Pro) with only 32GB, and man, the performance is impressive I'm very satisfied by this tablet, this one is the 5th (I owned iPads, Samsung, LG's...etc), and it really is the best one so far.
Could you tell me if a pen with fine tip like the pro one can work with this tablet?

I've had the 8.4 for a while now and the biggest annoyance is finding a good folio and glass screen protector. That's the major downfall to buying second market for branded products.

How many speakers does the pro have ? And which tablet sounds better the M5 or the pro ? I like to listen to music and watch movies ?

Hello guys! Can I connect the Mediapad M5 to HDD?
Only one thing. Its 250 Mhz difference between Kirin 960 (M5 Pro) vs 960s (M5) and not 20 Mhz. 20 Mhz wont make Geekbench 200 points (singel core) and 1000 points (multi core) diffference.

the US version of these tablets do not have a dialer,the EU version I heard does have it
the reason the pen doesnt work on the other tablet is a digitizer built in. wacom technology

Does this tablet work through HDMI? I read that it does not but you mentioned, in your video, that desktop mode worked with USB-C to HDMI cable, similar to the Mate 10 Pro. Just looking for clarification. Thank you and great content!

The smaller M5 is an 8.4 inch and not an 8.9 inch. It is also called the Mediapad M5 8.4 and not 8.9.

i am planning on buying it instead of the 10.8. i don't really have much use for the pen which only comes with the 10-inch version. although i have to say that your video has made me think about getting the 10 inch version. since they have the same resolution, images will come sharper on the smaller m5 as some reviewers have pointed out. loved the review. just subbed.

With Qualcomm now slowly entering the laptop chip business , will Huawei also make an attempt as well ? Surely having their own line of laptops paired with their chipsets could bring down production costs , without compromising quality , although they might have to stick with Chrome OS or the lite version of Windows.
I would love to see something like that from the Kirin Lineup. The 980 should come out soon around IFA. We will see what they do
Just in general , having multiple companies competing for the attention of laptop hardware manufacturers will ensure a quality rise in the chipsets , especially since apple has decided to move away from Intel , they might develop their own line for themselves.

they have the same battery life just charging time is slower on the pro for some reason

How bright is the screen in sunlight?
its good enough for out visibility , meaning you can use it no problem, now the reflection on the display is what I would worry about it. so I would not have the sun right behind me as it would just glare you display.
Did you noticed any differences between the Pro and non-Pro screens?
Is the NOT pro version compatible with a stylus at all?
Does non-pro version has native Android dialer app ? (ofcourse assuming tablet accepts SIM card)

So much i like Android, i've to say that as a tablet OS it's not well optimized for that use(maybe they switch to ChromeOS for that part?).
On the other hand the ipad 2018 is cheaper(even if you need to buy the apple pencil) and faster then the m5/m5 pro or even the galaxy tab 3.
Also the os support(updates) is more reliable with the ipad (sadly).
The m5 and m5 pro both are great devices, but not suited for the longterm usage of the most people(no customroms: no updates =/ )
Android does tend to slow down over time, but from using Kirin Devices for some years now, I find that the combo of good memory management and the SOC the mate 9 and mate 10 stay fast and Huawei has been pushing out a few updates. for Android fans this is a good option bot IOS Users the new Ipad will be a great option as well. thank you for the support

yes but they do not include the cable, you have desktop mode as well

I paid 144$ at Walmart and I notice you all support Amazon and I don't like there return option it's DOA or in pieces! and I'm betting you have to pay S&H what is the difference in price between the M5 and the T3 10? Cuz I'm going to have to return it not enough storage room unless you know of a SD card that will take apps and books! Battery test: using wifi and a brightness of 90% out of 100%, music, playing videos and internet surfing. Does it is enough 3 hours screen on? I was expecting more...
is the 90% brightness a preference ? it's a big panel and it will take a lot of juice at that brightness
TK Bay yea you are right. Made an intensive test right now. I've watched the movie Fury on FHD, 2.15 hours. Plus an episode of Top Car for 1.10 hour. Everything has been done around at...seems 85% brightness. Actually after surfing a while I'm at 20% with a total of 4.30 hours of display use. Well, I'm enjoying it like watching the TV. If you do say that it is all regular then I'm fine. I just wanted to know if I had any battery troubleshooting. M5 pro here
Do you know, if the M5 or Pro supports DRM standards which are necessary to use services like Netflix 4k?
I did not get your point. The non pro model can not use any digital pencil or just can not use Huawei pencil?
The none pro model just cannot use the Huawei pen but any other digitizer will work

this is by far one of the best out on the market, now next to the samsung tab S4 that just announced, but at a better price. you cannot go wrong. although I am not sure when you say art how detailed are you looking to be. samsung has a better ecosystem then huawei when i comes to Pen inputs. but again if price a driver then this it

hey TK, thanks Digital art . I use Procreate right now on my mini but it's too small and Apple won't upgrade the IOS. I now have an extra 500 bucks so that's 1,000 bucks total. I"m nervous about making a bad decision this time around, so I want to be very smart. I've looked at the TAB S4 but I've seen some negative reveiws. I like the Pen though. Should I lookk at the Huawei then?
Bruh just buy it and try it out. You won't be disappointed. Better sound and build quality than Tab S4 for sure
MediaPad Pro has problems, some apks can't run while these apks work properly in my Samsung and Lenovo tablets, Samsung mobile. The other problem is you can't download some apks from Google Play Store. You must download those apks from Web pages. However, the apks have different size to the size mentioned in Play Store😥😥😨😨😰😱😱

Thank you for the video I am new to tablets and would like to get the M5 but not the pro because of the expense can I still do many of the things by just buying the M5 and buying a regular stylus also can I add Android coloring programs and drawing programs Etc for the M5 and use with say a $10 or $20 stylus I'm sorry to sound so a knowledgeable but like I said I am completely new to tablets and especially don't have any experience with the tablet and a stylus I'd appreciate it if you could help me by answering my question and I would also like to use Microsoft Word on this tablet to write Etc is this a good tablet for that also thank you William

Good video and helpful! I just purchased the Pro model. I really like that this tablet has 64 GB of storage. I have the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus, which is also a really good tablet, but it only has 32 GB of storage and it is filling up.

I like the pro for the pen but if you do not need it then save some money and get the regular one
There is also a M5 lite, which does have a headphone jack, fingerprintscanner in a smarter location, and it works with the M pen lite.
yes I remember seeing something about that, not sure why they would give it the headphone jack and take it away here
You mention Huawei Share - for M5 screen to TV - any info on if their Huawei Share - allows casting the entire M5 screen to any Chromecast connected display - like a google chromecast or NVidia Shield (has Chromecast built in) on my TV ? - (useful for some group viewing situations and for Apps not natively supporting Google Cast) - thanks again for a great informative video (as always..)
