I can't believe they went along with the Licence splits, that alone will change my relationship with iRacing forever, as I can now start exploring the sports car series without so much panic of loosing those hard-fought ratings. Thanks Ben for helping pushing these customer requirements further.
I'm getting hyped up for this to launch!!! Rain is going to be a game changer, especially how they are implementing it. The license split is a great idea that I am on board with, It should help race participation as well I think. Great info thanks for putting this together.
My, my, my. I'm just an occasional iracing user. But this upcoming update is probably going to bring iracing up to par with my current favorites, AC, ACC, and AMS2. This could make me more than just an occasional user. I'm a D licence rookie and honestly, I get a little stressed over the craziness that often occurs in this class. Weather will add another layer of challenge for sure. Still, I'm looking forward to it. Also, tire model improvement would be nice. I struggle with car handling in skids. I can only imagine wet weather with existing tire model. Thanks for the update. Love your videos.
So much good stuff. As open wheel fans, the new 2024 Dallara F3 car ia the big surprise. I was more expecting a new FIA F3 car that releases in 2025, given on their FIA partnership for the F4, so I didn't expect this at all. Whilw the current F3 car is a legend, I'm sure we'll all be happy to let go of that giant antenna and hard to read rev lights with an unforgiving rev limiter, as well as that giant exhaust blocking the left mirror. While Portimao and Misano are fine, the big one is bringing dead tracks back to live, Oschersleben and Snetterton are great tracks that will now feature a lot more often, for free.
I am very excited. I was actually giddy last night trying to sleep 😂 and not necessarily for the rain because we knew that was coming imminently. Changes people have been crying out for like the license split, UI, Spa rescan. It's great to know they are coming. Even though people will be disappointed there was no new GT3 cars yet, there's a good amount of new content coming this season. Portimao is a great track. New dirt car for free and I'm looking forward to driving the new included tracks as I don't own any of them.
Week 13 has been a blast as class A and B drivers have been strugglin against lower ranked players with significantly lower irating i wet races. It really throws everything up in the air
I believe when iRacing was thinking rain would be in S1 2024 they said it would only be on two cars and a couple of tracks. So to see they have so many cars three months later, that's pretty awesome. The new content looks cool. I just hope I get a little bit of a credit in my account since I own all the tracks that are moving to free, especially Oschersleben and Lédenon given how new they are to the service. Also, I'm so glad to hear they are working with Supercars. When we didn't get the new Gen 3 Superscars last year when they started racing IRL, it seemed like Supercars might be dead in iRacing.
Hey buddy - I'm not sure on tracks but for cars if you bought it within the last three months and it's retired or made free I think you get 50% money back in iRacing credits. Definitely worth keeping an eye out on the forums for an announcement.
Looks like it will be another great update with lots to look forward to. Hope that the Mustang GT3 and Lamborghini GTP will be on the horizon at some stage in the future maybe sometime later this year as that would be awesome.
I really want to get in to iRacing, but I just can't seem to get to like it. The UI you mentioned is one reason I'm not a fan but the biggest reason is not being able to try a car/track before you commit to buying. I've bought a couple of cars when trying to get into the game but I didn't like how they drove. Being able to get a feel for what you're paying for would be a massive W for me, and I probably speak for others too. Maybe something like a time limited, single player, no AI, no rating etc, just to get a feel for it would be so good in my opinion.
Your GPU should always run at 99% unless you want to trade performance for power saving. GPUs are meant to run at 99%, otherwise you're limiting them by something else, which means you're getting only 80% of what you paid for.
@@drchtct my understanding is that the current settings allow the card to have some space for future updates like rain for example... Hopefully it will be good. I just dont want the orange bar on my iRacing little performance dash..
Sounds like you already run in cpu bottleneck. Many thinks if new rain in iRacing will be processed from cpu, so I think it will getting more worse for you
OK, so wet weather is like other games but with a good PR team behind it. At least it sounds like those years of development produced something in line with the state of the art in sim racing.
Not sure about the rain myself hopefully it will not be every race and every week. I also give it a month till people start complaining that they are losing irating too quickly and why is it in the game 😂
As someone who hasn’t dabbled in iracing, are they basically like Apple? Screaming about their new features that have existed in other sims for some time, expensive, but ultimately cornered the market and created a legion of dedicated followers. Or am I missing something about the sim that makes it stand out from the rest?
@@AaronJay83 wet tracks are very difficult to drive and given iRacing has a brutal tire model to catch slides in dry track is going to be a nightmare for competitive online racing. Maybe they should first fix their tire model.

It would be nice to have some dev effort put into the backend game engine to make it multiple core, Running on a single core on a CPU severely limits iracing's potential. Graphically it could do with a bit of a facelift too. I'm running a 4090 and 7800x3d on a varjo aero and my GPU is sitting around waiting for my CPU to catch up most of the time. I think my GPU usage sits around 70% if it has true multicore CPU support things would be very different.
So you're sitting on the best gaming cpu, the best gaming gpu and arguably the best vr headset and your contribution to the conversation is to complain that the game developers aren't doing enough to match your hardware? I'm guessing you had similar complaints when you had your 5800X3D, 3090 and Reverb G2?

AMS2 does the wet line thing like iRacing already. Be interesting to compare. And it does have quite a big impact on performance. I think it will be great to replace the rubbish skyboxes with more varied skies. I did notice that the dev update is laced with the superiority complex a lot of iRacers come out with when comparing to other titles. im the same but opposite with the open wheel stuff. i really like that change.
This needs to happen with superspeedway, and short tracks in the oval size.
Oh boy, it'll be interesting to see how much carnage will produce over a normal race , it sounds like an interesting implementation as well
I’m excited about the update, but cannot even imagine how reckless F4 races in rain will be.
Can’t wait for the rain. But most notably excited about the road license split.

If I read it right rain will be released for week 13 of this season so that we get a chance to practice it in un ranked sessions.
