I had both legs done in one sitting years ago after being tired of shaving them all of the time. It was about 15 years ago and an older laser was used. It hurt a bit like a rubber band hitting the skin. Only after 1 treatment, I'd say 85-90% of the hair is still off of my legs all of these years later. The treatments were definately worth it to me.

but he didn’t ask the most important question. Are there possible long term health effects?? In like the early 1900’s(I’m unsure of exact dates) women used to get x-rays for the sole purpose of hair removal. That left them with health issues down the road.
Well nobody knows the long term effects because it hasn't been that long yet. Suffice it to say nothing close to the level of danger of exposing yourself to x-ray radiation.......probably.
1) it doesn't reach that far
2) it's just led laser, not a radioactivity inducer.
3) all it does is heat up the hair at around 60 ℃
x rays can give you a lot of health issues. The radiation the x rays give off, having multiple x rays over you life time can do a lot of damage. However hair removal is just was a laser. It goes into the dermis of their hair, no deeper. so its not effecting your internal organs or anything deeper then the dermis because its not strong enough
It's not radiation going into the skin. And no there has been no long term effects documented. Laser hr removal has been around for a long time.
I bought "Absolute" by Epilady. It uses advanced infrared laser to get rid off hair. The light it flashes is red instead of white like demos I've seen. Will that work?
But what about the longterm effects such as the likelihood of developing cancers such as melanoma? And what about potential nerve damage (since each hair follicle is attached to a small nerve)?

It won't go that deep. All laser does is heat up the bulb of the hair in order to burn the surrounding cells. Also, every part of your body is connected to nervous terminals, but thankfully we have a thick organ protecting all that: your skin.

Just got my session done yesterday for the first time. They put numbing cream on for me and while they were doing my bikini line they had a cool fan while using the laser. Helped a lot. It’s more uncomfortable than painful. But fast process!!
Sar tye yes it did honestly. In some spots you’ll feel like a light rubber band snap feeling but it isn’t too bad. I’m the biggest wimp there is, and I’m at my 5th sesssion now

My lazer treatments was 600 euro for one session of 20 minutes. With alexandrite lazer. Hair did grow back afrer not continue to go to take more treatments as I needed 8 in total but I taked only 3.

Nothing beats electrolysis! I had laser on my neck and of course spent about 1600. Electrolysis is cheaper and the hair isn't returning and I'm having more areas treated on my face.
Electrolysis don’t work the hair comes back every 2 weeks. I did it for 2 years on my eyebrows/face. I wasted $1032 for the year. I put that towards my laser treatments and my hair is not back.

You'll get that info from the technician. Usually no sun exposure for like 4 days. The best lasers are diode and right after my underarms session I was able to put on deodorant.

Chae everyone is different I guess, but that’s what my doctor told me. Pcos is also misdiagnosed a lot but either way, everyone’s different but a lot of women with pcos don’t have a good experience usually with laser and even when they do it takes more sessions and it’s only disguising a bigger problem :(
Even they know you have pcos. It will not work for you. Thay will never tell you.
I've only had 2 sessions and 70% of my armpit hair is gone. I have PCOS and on meds for it. So I don't think it's about having PCOS. Did you use diode or IPL?
I also have PCOS and Im planning to have a brazilian diode laser. Im doing my sessions for my underarms and so far so good. I have thin hair now.

Yes, hairs help in the detection of touch. Each hair follicle is attached to a small nerve. So that is why you can feel it when even one hair is moved.
Body hair is there to protect your largest organ. It’s a shame any body hair is considered unwanted.
Hair moisturize the skin.
Body hair is very helpful in general if we weren't wearing clothes but unfortunately its not sexy...

As someone who has been getting laser done for sometime trust me when i say this, if your esthetician or doctor is giving you one shot per area, walk away with your money. Some of the best lasers are yag and diode (being used in the video -which btw was totally not working cause it should have a flash and this is also the one I use). When you do one shot per area, you risk not treating all the hairs. My esthetician who is a blessing in my life worked with doctors at a hospital I worked at so I knew she was a pro. Through her I learned you need to go in circular motions and have a few shots at the same area so it is effective and gives proper results. At this rate you can be doing laser forever and have no results 🤦🏽♀️ this technique is a money grab

Three shots and that’s it! What a bunch of bs. I did the tria in underarm and did about 7 treatments with about 20 shots per treatment. Worked some. I have hair but not as many.
Anmol Bains i went for my first treatment and it was quick but she only did it once . My hairs are growing thick again as if I didn’t do the first treatment . Going to have to tell her to step it up a notch .
755 alexandrite is the gold standard in laser hair removal - way more effective than any diode... 1064 for darker skin types types..

You can get it done at a medical center or medical institute. And they're VERY expensive to buy, and you can burn yourself if you don't know what you're doing, so better go to specialists

Yes, it does. Go for diode, avoid IPL, since it will most likely burn your skin and isn't effective.
If you have pcos all it will do is stimulate the hair growth... get electrolysis and be put on a strict pcos diet.

N.A. Conen it happened to me! I get electrolysis now and it’s painful but worth it. The results are permanent and it’s less expensive than laser. I think laser hair removal might be good for other hairs just not the face!

Im currently on my 7th session, I'm a male and I'm getting my neck done as it always flares up when i shave. But as it stands most of the hairs are still growing but are now white/grey, about 25% are still black. So I'm wondering is this part of the process and has anyone else has an issue like this.
Just FYI, i know laser hair removal doesn't work on white or grey hairs, but my hairs weren't white/grey when this process started.

Are you seriously read and believe all negative comments??? I had Lazer treatments 3 times and hair did grow back because it needs to be re dun 8 times in total. Lazer called alexandrite and I would not use others. Every good treatment costs. For good solution you will need to have to pay. My skin tone is white and hair was black then Lazer work as a dream. Remember that if you have problems in your health then hair might come back because of it.
Laura X yes. I had 6 treatments but I will say the machine I used looked different than this one. I know someone who did laser and it worked for her. Not me tho. Guess it just depends.
@@deemarie911 if you used IPL, you'll probably need 3 times more sessions. That's why you need to do research and talk to dermatologists first.

I had my first session on Saturday, it wasn't scary at all! The lady made me feel very comfortable. It doesn't hurt at all on fleshy parts.
Its uncomfortable on bony parts it feels like someone is pricking you with a needle but obviously its different for each individual.

It's painful but worth it!!! I went through 12 treatments of laser on my face and it grew BACK and it seemed like there was MORE hair. I started electrolysis in September and I only have a couple of hairs growing back. It's painful, but take a Tylenol before u go and numbing cream. Expensive, but worth it for permanent hair removal.

Can I just say I hate laser with a burning passion of a thousand white Suns, I'd probably take that over laser anyway just because of how mainstream it is, and I'm more than convinced it has knocked out any proceeding competition and is artificially slowing down any other process for different options. Like the only current options are: electrolysis, laser, IPL, waxing, threading, depilatory creams, inhibitors (which only really work if you wax), and shaving; which recently I found I can't do any of that anymore, because my skin has become so sensitive over the years of abuse trying to get rid of pimples and get rid of hair.
Just give me a pill and let me get rid of all of it, please!!! I would love just to snap on a wigs, fake eyebrows and eyelashes, and just call it a f****** day. Seriously, I know removing hair is a choice, it is a cosmetic choice, but so is regrowing hair such as the "baldness cure" miracle people (mostly men) have been trying to figure out for the last several hundred years and they're using everything in the book including pharmaceutical medication.
If I had to guess if a pill or injection were to be made specifically to remove hair, it's not just going to remove the unwanted hair, it's going to remove everything, you're basically inducing alopecia universalis; and like I said I'm cool with that! I just want it to be an option, as safely as possible; because I know that stuff that they are using to regrow your hair can cause problems. There are risk and people are willing to take it to live out their aesthetic desires. So why can't I? I know I'm not alone so I'm thinking it might be supply and demand; if more people who are willing to go through it: demand it! There will be a supply, it may not be overnight but it's still be in the works and hopefully within five years we'll have it.
Again this is a choice, if you don't want something like this: that's fine, but I still want the option; so don't dismiss my needs over something you won't even use, you feel me? Cuz that's what shity people do: taking away other people's choices simply because they don't want it to even exist.

@@jacs8151 I've heard from some women it didn't work because they had darker skin tones and some that it came back hormonally full force regrowth after a pregnancy.
It’s not permanent. You need to do about 6-9 sessions then go in for touchups 1-2 a year! :))
Anita Knight Dark skin women, such as myself, can only use the ND Yag laser. If not, it’s not safe & not effective! :))
