I’m gonna get the Legacy Elita but I do wish she was red rather than pink. I actually hate pink, I would love it if Arcee would be red from now on especially since she’s my favorite fembot.
4:43 I don't see as the problem with them being slender, I see it as a problem with engineering. Prime Soundwave, and Animated Prowl are very slender, but their designs are in no way compromised by that. Also, I think your criticism is unfound here, because it's clear that this Elita-1 design does not suffer from that, she's not slender, she's bulky, and like with the slender fembots, it could work, but the engineering can't pull it off.
My issue is more that slender fembots is basically the only type of female transformer Hasbro does these days. Gone are the days of strika and strongarm. Now it's all the same. I want some variety
@@DrLockdown So do I. But those shouldn't be the only other fembot body type either. It shouldn't just be buff or skinny. I've been saying this for years, Bay designs were bad, but what other parts of the franchise could learn from it is that Transformers are robots, therefore they aren't bound to any shape, any number of limbs, or eyes. Look at the variety of designs in Blue Sky's Robots! You can have a fembot who doesn't even have legs, her alt mode turns into a dress. Like a rocket jet or something. Or, a speed oriented fembot, like Blurr, with long, skinny legs, instead of thicc thighs. Or some spindly creep like Prime Soundwave. And the fembots like the ones you're tlaking about haven't exactly gone away. They are just not part of the main line, which is a mistake on Hasbro's part. We have Rescue Bots Academy Whirl with her Megaman proportions, all the various fembots in Cyberverse. It's just that Hasbro focuses on recreating the older lines, and each of them have like two or three girls in them. I want my girl Road Rage to get more representation. I love the idea of a meek, friendly bot who turns into a road rage monster when in her car mode. I even have some ideas how to update that so it's not just limited to her Transformation, she's just a nerd, who never held a gun and when thrown into the action she realizes, she's never felt more alive, and the adrenaline goes to her head a bit. I also want a new Strika. But at least we get a character that's like her in personality with Shatter. Scary, imposing and monstrous, yet dignified intelligent woman.

Yeah I never said those are the only ones I want. I just want variety. Road rage is a good start, but mainline is pretty stagnant
@@DrLockdown I agree. I miss the days of Animated. And Prime.
PE’s weird expectation
Whoops I’m an insane Orthia lover 😅
so uh, i rejoined the fandom just a bit after potp, what was the controversy with Jazz?
He wasn't the Porsche people wanted I suppose. Looked pretty good to me though I never owned him
He had a decal/decoration on his arm with an Autobot symbol and some Cybertronian writing. When translated, that writing read "MAGA"
@@Joyy_Da forgot about that lol. what an oof moment in transformers' history
@@Joyy_Da Wait, what!?
*googles*
Oh, dear, that's a thing that happened. Fuck the guy that did that.
TBH the figure isn't worth the controversy. It's so shit.
Ha ha BACK LASH
Woohoo!
I prefer potp elita 1, partsforming kills figures for me if there's not a reason behind it
Yeah one thing I hate these days is the constant excuses people give for it.
@@DrLockdown so true, and I agree honestly one good example of partsforming is the new Earthrise Ironhide, the whole roof disconnects to become a riot shield for him
Yeah I don't mind that form of partsforming, but everything else with that figure bugs me.
Darn. I actually like Volcanion.
Nice shirt!
Your biased.
@@mineturtledabrave3796 That's a funny way of saying, "thanks for the birthday present." XD
But it wasn't free. And my birthday is in December!
@@DrLockdown I know. I was talking about the one I got him for his birthday.
Firebyte27 you need a new pair of prescription lenses in those goggles of yours if you think that me calling you biased is the same as showing gratitude for a gift.
This design honestly needs to be redone with a more involved transformation, actual paint, and modern articulation.
...nah stupid arcee redeco instead CONSUME PRODUCT
Good thing I'm not touching that thing with a ten foot pole.
POTP may have been underwhelming, but at least it wasn't a complete disaster.
BTW, How was TFNation? (I didn't watch the livestream cause I wasn't sure if I had to pay to watch it).
Didn't watch it either :P
@@DrLockdown Also, if you made a video about the worst transformers comic, will you make one about the best? Just asking.
I can't definitively say what the best one is, however I do have ideas for a review of the full IDW run, as well as the awesome new 84 Secrets and Lies comic.
Seriously go read it. It's amazing.
Just picked this gal up from Toymate for 39$.
This may be an exaggeration, but I think 2007 movie voyager starscream pulls of the jet mode better than this jet mode.
Still better than the Netflix one
I don’t know... you know what they say: “you won’t know unless you try it”. Besides, they made so that you can take of the majority of the backpack as an intentional feature and use it as a stand.
MUCH needed edit: I fucking regret this comment. No sympathy for the earthrise arcee mould and it’s mould mates. Fucking Burn the Netflix figure, and HELLO UPCOMING LEGACY!
@@devilwithin1738 ....eh, that's just seems completely lazy, not helped by the fact she's a total shellformer. As in, she might as well not have BEEN a Transformer. They don't need their vehicle parts to be stands. If it DID transform into something that did look like a hoverboard than just the back part of a car, I'd be more open to the idea. As is....it's barely defensible as a TRANSFORMER.
I'm glad you're very positive about it, but it REALLY just seems completely lazy. It's EASILY the worst offender of the rampant partsforming in Earthrise. Unlike Cliffjumper, so far, there's no way to fix it. And it's to the point there are some guys completely giving her new armor parts that, while sacrificing accuracy, make them actual Transformers. If the robot mode accuracy is so sacrosanct, why not just get a non-transforming statue?
ignoring the 1 in the name elita infinite is a better name.
thanks for reminding how much i HATE the starscream version, seriously it was a dumpster fire
It really was. This is pretty good though.
DrLockdown well I guess when you have a figure as bad as star scream you can only really go up from there
By the way have I mentioned that potp starscream is an abomination yet? Just thought I would in case I forget
@@DrLockdown bye the way are you gonna review the starscream version
Totally not asking just because I want to see the worst figure in my collection get torn limb from limb
Don't own him, and don't plan to
@@DrLockdown eh ok
I would argue Transformers into a brick with buttons isn't much better than turning into a brick with pillons. Yes, I know it's G1 accurate, I don't care, it's a lame alt mode. He literally turns into a brick. Not very challenging for the engineers, is it?
I've had both versions of elita one, netflix is far superior
Would have to disagree
Why do fembots get like, one mold to share? Honestly, if they tried to make Elita a truck or something I doubt anyone but the G1 purists would complain, especially since it gives them more room to work with.
I think it's because Hasbro believes female characters won't sell as well, but I could be wrong.
@@DrLockdown I'd imagine it probably goes like this:
"the fembots aren't selling!"
"Could it be that our design decisions make them poor toys, and when they share a single mold most consumers won't care about the difference?"
"No, it's that people don't want to buy fembot toys"
That's unfortunately the most likely way they think
RID15 Strongarm was a step in the right direction.
FYI it is not MAH-CROSS. Macross is pronounced MAC-ROSS.
The hard C sound is a part of the first syllable.
I don't think 'ま' in Japanese has that hard rounded 'a'.
Although to be fair I'm pretty sure I pronounce Lio Convoy wrong.
