I also just came to the realization that I'm a winter after a lifetime of thinking I'm an autumn. Olive skin is so tricky! High contrast light and dark was the key to me seeing the difference. That's why we look so good in black. :) This was very clever analysis. I love the astrology style take; I haven't seen anyone else doing that and it works so well! Thanks for the great vid.
Olive skin is tricky! & you're absolutely right about narrowing down whether youre high contrast or more muted to decide which of the seasons you, I still more to learn so I'll be sure to cover any more findings in future videos 🖤✨
I think what people are confused about is that they assume that the dark/light seasons are just generally dark/light, but they are actually dark/light FOR THEIR SEASON. Autumn is an inherently muted season, but a dark autumn will be dark FOR AN AUTUMN, meaning dark but still with a level of muted to them. You have too much clear contrast to be an Autumn, so you would have to be either a Winter or Spring, depending on your other factors like skin tone. I would definitely agree that you are a dark winter rather than a dark autumn.

And all agreed, also because I'm olive overtoned there was this misconception that I was automatically warm but after many years of trying to wear warm & autumn- found out that is not the case lol but thank you for this confirmation about my contrast, nothing against spring but some spring colors look washed out on me vs winter colors always look more natural on me. Also a good factor is makeup, nude lipsticks never look good on me but even dark lipsticks read more as a nude lipstick on me (the more you know haha)
The sweet innocence you mentioned when talking about Marylin Monroe is called Ingenue: “little-girl-like”. Youthful yin, as opposed to Gamine which is youthful yang. The Ethereal/Angelic is timeless, rather than youthful. Ethereals have a distant, far-away-ness about them, a kind of intangibility - sort of like they are not quite of this world… instead of the sweetness and innocence characteristic of Ingenues. Unless you have both essences, lol, in which case you’re a mix of otherworldly and sweet/innocent! 💖😇

I've been going through this journey myself too!! It's so nice to see someone that's also just exploring it and figuring out how to implement all of it. I love Ellie and her style roots, I also love Gabrielle Arruda for essences. I had never heard about using astrology for style but I will look into it now, it's always freaked me out a bit how everyone says cancer risings have a round face, and I was always called "carita de luna" when I was younger.
Dressing as your rising sign as always been a thing but even more emphasized on tiktok! But I have another perspective that I'll be showing this Sunday so hopefully it helps 🖤 but yes when it comes to Kibbe + Essence I love Ellie Jean & Gabrielle, theres also a creator on hear Mikaela I think? She has short hair? But she has a lot of great insight on color
I would love a video for how to pull off more dark Goth/edgy styles when you are a light season (especially a Light spring 😭).

I am a dark autumn - winter. I call it a a late November!!
I can't go too warm or too cool, I can get away with a bit more warmth than coolness.
I am a neutral olive with dark brown hair and eyes.
Black really suits me, in part because I have very dark eyes, this is why some people think Coco Chanel loved black, it brought out the glow of dark eyes.
You are probably soft gamine, the soft gamine, is actually sometimes quite broad like a soft natural but shorter, like Hayden Petinere.
Ellie-Jean is great at Kibbe, but she isn't great when it comes to essences (just as a general fyi for anyone interested - no shade, she is lovely!). Essences are also about your vibe, your personality and non physical traits (voice, way of moving, way of emoting). In Kitchner you can be up to all of the 7 essences, you are a blend.
Marylin is ingenue and romantic primarily.
You have some natural romantic essence for sure, maybe some gamine and ethereal to, maybe also dramatic and classic.

summary of essences in Kitchener ( there are some physical elements to, but in general they aren't so clear cut, so I included the vibe they give instead)
Also you can have these traits and not have essence, it's really more of an art than a science, less rules and yet weirdly more complex than Kibbe.
All most everyone is a blend, of up to all 7 ( but all 7 is unusual)
Natural - relaxed, broadness, asymmetry, a firmness that is casual (like trusted pair of boots), warm, cozy and friendly, earthy.
Dramatic - assertive, confident, sharp, engimatic, intense, regal, powerful, maybe even a bit dangerous.
gamine - playful, quirky, boyish almost, lively, charming in an off beat way, a lil mischievous twinkle to them, energetic, youthful
classic - refined, neat, tidy, elegant, traditional, clean, symmetrical, chic, crisp simple designs that dont overwhelm.
romantic - vivacious, charming, sensual, seductive at time, warm, relaxed in self assured way, a touch of that femme fatale vibe, inviting
inguene - girly, sweet, innocent, youthful, sometimes doll like, playful but in a more gentle way
Ethereal - mystical, serene, soft in a wise way, seems out of place/time, unusual in a non-assertive way ( not passive either), gentle, neither mature nor young, a softly mysterious vibe.

I love that you call your season by the month because it makes so much sense!
I do appreciate the assessment but I dont work in any of the gamine lines lol I've always loved that body type & have tried outfits that would look amazing on a gamine but they make me look like I'm bursting out of them or I look too wide for them. I landed on soft natural because the same silhouettes that work on other SN such as Katy Perry, Scarlet Johannessen & Billie Eilish have the same effect on me. If I were to wear the same silhouettes as lets say Hayden, I would look extremely frumpy if I dont accommodate to curve. I mainly feel strongly about my kibbe because I have forced gamine lines on me for years & it's given me body dysmorphia as opposed to SN where I finally feel my best self 🖤
I definitely appreciate the essence though because that's the one I'm still on the fence on lol

I am glad you found lines that make you feel good! At the end of the day, this stuff is only to make us feel our best!
Yeh essences are complicated, and the thing to remember is most people online say you have 3, but you can technically have all 7, its more about understanding the percentages - not in numerical sense, bit in - how much of that vibe can you pull off. But also if you want to pull of a certain look, how you can do it.
Definately check out Gabrille Arrudda on youtube for help on essences, she also has a chart that lays out the physical and non--physical traits associated with each essence.
The fact that you can pull of a micro fringe, to me is a sure sign you have some gamine in your blend!! (So does the celeb you mentioned who also has one)
Also it would be awesome if you made a video or a guide to astrological signs and fashion!
I feel like I always am drawn to clothes that resonate with my scorpio moon, but then make them more casual and balanced /softer with my libra rising.

This style essence things is like connecting dots - so fun! I am a true spring and a natural and what I’ve noticed about lighting and home surroundings is that wood paneling or being in wood cabins makes me shine.
Yes I love that connection! Because finding out our season, kibbe and essence from our astrological placements not only effect our fashion or makeup but the places & decor we surround ourselves in 🖤 it's important to have our safe spaces like that

I agree! As I mentioned I was automatically assumed to be an Autumn as an Olive tone Filipino but after learning that all asians can be even Springs, Summers & Winters was eye opening

Yes! I normally wear all black & red lipstick on a daily basis buuuuut if I do incorporate color, I love lavender & dusty blues and any vampiric inspired so you absolutely spot on!!

I personally think you are a soft gamine or gamine. Flamboyant gamine possibly because of your dark essence. Audrey Hepburn was a Flamboyant gamine but there are many more people who you might be able to resonate with. I agree with you being a dark winter. You look amazing in black!
I appreciate this! The reason why I dont think I'm a gamine though is because Ive been wanting to fit into gamine lines my whole life, my mom is a Soft Gamine, my best friend is a Flamboyant Gamine & I always naturally had a more muscular & broader build then other gamines in my life (specifically in the shoulders) - the main celebrities whos proportions I resonate with is Kat Dennings & Billie Eilish who fit in the Soft Natural Side. Long story short, I'd be honored to be a Gamine but me fitting into Gamine lines was what caused me to have bad body dysmorphia & finally accepting I have a different build than a Gamine is what has helped me on my style journey 🖤 but I wouldnt doubt if its one of my essences!
@@silkymochi I understand that must have been terrible but I think the way you already dress is very flamboyant gamine. I know many times soft natural can get confused with soft and/or flamboyant gamine. I know this because I'm in the same boat. Look up Debbie Allen when she was younger compared to now. I'm also a dark winter too. I take bits from both of these natural and gamine and make it my own.
