I'm an interior designer, and your videos and the education on style parameters has changed the game in my designs. I've been able to take the information you've given me and utilize it in interiors to create spaces that emphasize the individual. It's helped me design in a way that makes the client look like they truly belong in their space. Thank you for helping me level up 🖤
the people want this content!! (it's me, I'm people) as someone currently building a wardrobe using Kibbe-essence-color analysis and also someone currently remodeling two homes, I really would love to hear more about the interior design aspect of incorporating these things. it is something I've been considering for my spaces, and actually it seems to come much more naturally to me than the personal style application, but I'd love to hear about it all from a pro.
This is so interesting! Have you found that that the interior style you like to live in kind of match your Kibbe id and/or essences? Because I’ve been thinking about this lately. So I’m a soft classic with possible classic, ingenue and natural essence, and the interior styles I’m drawn to seem to match up with my personal style preferences. As an example, I like mostly traditional style with some modern elements (classic), calm yet joyful colours like pastels, blues, pinks, greens (soft and ingenue?), with a relaxed, comfortable feel (natural). Have you noticed your clients are similar with their preferences?
Oh my goodness guys, thank you for your interest and I'm so sorry I'm just seeing this. It seems like you all are absolutely on the right track! I find that understanding Kibbe makes it easier to translate design preferences, especially when the client is not creatively inclined. It also adds clarification to design styles and expectations. I use essences to choose materials, textiles, color story, line, symmetry (or asymmetry). For example, I am heavily gamine, so I have a room in my home that is a 1960s mod style with bright neons, bold shapes, and asymmetry. However, if I were designing for someone with a natural essence I may choose a grasscloth look wall treatment with hardwood or bamboo floors, airy furniture shapes, and linen drapes. ☺️
I would love to see more on the Ethereal essence, it's interesting to me as I think there are lots of ways people can read as ethereal. Some have the classic otherworldly face and others maybe just have subtle elements in their face or expressions etc. I also think there are sooooo many otherworldly or ethereal things, for example, you could look like classic Asian or middle eastern artwork of angel like beings or deities etc, but not the classic western versions. You could also look ethereal in a dark way, like a witch or a vampire that is very different from the soft delicate angelic version of ethereal. There was a reddit post ages ago of someone working out like 8 or 9 types of ethereal and they typed a bunch of celebrities, it really made me think of the ethnocentric way we view 'ethereal' and any of the types/essences, especially when we look at the old versions of the kibbe type descriptions the one I always remember is that "gamines will have no exotic features apart from large eyes" ....As a half iranian soft gamine it really threw me. I have a classically middle eastern nose, but that doesnt make me any less gamine. In the same way, I think even if you have features that are very 'non-european' or quite striking I don't think that detracts from your overall ID and essence. Sorry lol I will get down from my soap-box, I was just glad to see more inclusivity and nuance in your videos lol and also I love the editing decisions.
I really love this! It really takes in so many things into consideration! I'm a.... Kibbe: soft classic Essence: classic, ethereal Color: muted/soft summer Vibe: sweet and feminine, elegant without looking too serious, slightly mysterious Wardrobe non-negotiables: not too revealing (no deep necklines or very short hemmings), higher waisted bottoms, waist emphasis is preferred, no sleeveless or tight upper arm (my fat goes to my arms and I'd like to hide that) I have been told before that I feel intimidating to approach when I'm alone and expressionless.
Holy shit girl your whole first example is literally me. I was kind of like, i think i have a romantic body w natural and essence with a strange attitude preference both grunge and classic stylings depending on my mood... you're helping me break free, babe❤️ It feels good to know what i need when walking into the store. And i litetally went to bed in this outfit (cuz im bad im working on it 🙏)
What a breath of fresh air in this community! I was tired of watching the same kibbe old videos over and over and this is the new ,original content we were looking for 🎉🎉 I also have a little struggle being a dc but not being able to wear neutral colors, I’m a winter ( probably true winter) and browns and beige look awful on my light olive cool skintone.my essence is also classic and gamine ( which initially confused me in my id journey). What I struggle to find is a playful but sensual style that a dc could rock without that looking separate from her identity . Also: even being a dc I have a high and narrow waist that throws off the balance if its emphasized ( but I love to emphasize my waist since is the only visible curve I have, otherwise my body is pretty dry and straight)
I’m a disabled programmer who deals with a lot of bloating due to health issues. I am a 5ft tall Romantic kibble body type with a larger bust than butt. I believe I have romantic, ingenue, and gamine essences. I like girly, flattering, comfortable (especially on my waist), and cottage core. It’s typically pretty warm here throughout the year. I think I’m a true spring, and I love to dress up and go out with my girlfriends. I also love a business element added to my outfits in case I need to be more formal for business calls, but typically I lean toward more sexy & romantic casual outfits. Thanks so much for this series!! It’s already helped me a lot 😍
What can I say??? WOW just, WOW!! You are more informative than google - and I mean that in a good way!! I have never seen such an informative video on styling and creating outfits EVER!!! Where on earth have you been?? I can see this channel going places!! This is AWESOME!!! Thank you for taking the time to create this demonstration, and putting it all together. I appreciate it must have taken such a long time to do.
This is so much fun to watch! It's like the outfit version of making a mixtape for someone! Not sure if you're still taking real examples to add to your list for future videos, but just in case... - Romantic (Kibbe) - Hourglass - Mid size to plus size - Main three essences: ethereal, ingenue, romantic (in fairly equal amounts) - Soft Summer - Style keywords: earthy, imaginative, gentle, free-spirited - I'm still working on my personal style map but so far it's just pictures of fictional characters who are style inspirations to me, including Jackie from That '70s Show, Lucy from A Room With A View, Chuck from Pushing Daisies, Alexis from Schitt's Creek, Molly from Uptown Girls, and Mandella from 10 Things I Hate About You. - I want to look interesting, fun, and feminine, but still feel as comfortable as possible. I mostly get around by bus and on foot, so shoes can't be too impractical. The climate where I live is subtropical. - I think my biggest struggle is in choosing the details to complete a look, especially when it comes to shoes, hair, and makeup. I have really fine hair (but a thick head of it) that is difficult to style, and I have sensitive eyes and skin so need to keep any makeup as minimal as possible. - I'd love to see an outfit that is casual and comfy enough to wear around the house but can quickly be done up a little for going out during the day.
What an awesome video, just as useful as the last! Loved how you demonstrated how an essence could be added bit by bit, that is such a helpful tool in finding how much to lean one way or another. Would love to see an in depth ingenue essence vid. In case you need more for your list!: Kibbe/essence: ingenue-gamine (but not a highly contrasted G, facial feature-wise) Season: deep autumn Vibe/style: flirty, otherworldly, effortless, chic (but not stiff) Inspo: off duty ballerina, dark fairy, Brandy Melville chill Daily life: fresh graduate, inner city living, hybrid internship work (not corporate), social outings.
Your videos are amazing. I'm a 6'1" soft dramatic, soft autumn (almost 50 so going grey) and I feel a dominant natural essence (is that a thing?) but also romantic (love the Victorian vibe, also art deco/30's style). Can't wait to see what you put out next - I'm living for your seasonal capsule wardrobes.
I cannot tell you how excited I was to see that you had included me in this video!! I had a miiiinor fangirl moment :') 💖 Thank you so much for your help! I absolutely loved the outfit you put together for me and it came at the perfect time! I'll will definitely be going for this look for the next wedding! 😊
Kibbe: I'm pretty sure I'm a soft natural but a recent crowd sourced poll said dramatic classic and I"m just not feeling it. I don't really *have* to accomodate anything in my figure, but definitely feel I have kibbe width in my top half, shoulders or bust maybe. Now I'm really not sure! Halp?!! Essence: natural, classic, romantic Season: deep autumn Personal vibe: relaxed but refined, friendly, sensual, put together but at ease/effortless Non negotiables: no heels; clothes must be comfortable to wear, low maintenance I'm loving these videos!!
I'ved added this to my list! If you're unsure of your kibbe ID you could try the Freely Kibbe Facebook group with a proper ID photo (it's not my group) but they can offer some objective opinions and help narrow it down. Also do you have any style map imagery or inspiration you'd like to include?
@@Gabriellearrudadesign the crowd source was Freely Kibbe...an overwhelming DC response, one R and one SG but no SN. Maybe because the photo didn't go right to my feet so my short legs weren't fully on view...not sure. With an open mind I am looking at DC but I still feel those lines are too.....stiff or structured or something for me? I'm still working on my canva map :)
Love this video and would love to be included in future one! Kibbe: Dramatic Classic Essence: Dramatic, Classic, Etherial Personal style: 90s minimalism, YSL-chic, Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy meets Kaia Gerber meets Prue from Charmed Desired vibe: sophisticated, put together but effortless, enigmatic Season: clear spring Lifestyle: I’m an art business student and I work at the gallery with elegant all-black dress code. In my free time I like to meet friends at cafés or bars, go to opera/museums, and do ballet. I live in Northern Europe, so most of my wardrobe is autumn-spring appropriate. I’m struggling to include colors in my wardrobe - maybe thats because I live in Scandinavia and most people here dress in all black 😄 I would also love to explore my ethereal essence in DC-appropriate way xoxo
Yeyy this video was great! 😍👏 I'm a soft classic, soft autumn with romantic classic essence. My number one styling concern is that I dont want to look boring or "mousy" 😆 Id like to add some flavour to my outfits but not always quite sure how to do it
Absolutely loved this video! However, I really wanted to see some winter examples though (I feel we get a little neglected in the 12 season system and get told to just wear black white and red lol).
I just wanted to comment that I love your advice on testing your essence IDs. I got into kibbe just trying to figure out what kind of tops I should be looking for because it seemed like I looked bad in everything and I went from assuming i had an ingenue essence to thinking i must not after some very ingenue style tops looked immature on me. Your explanations have helped me clarify that there's a limit to how ingenue i can dress but that the essence is probably still there and that the tops didn't work for my classic essence or what have you. I appreciate your videos and have had a lot of fun watching them. Thank you for all the effort you've put into them!
Love your channel. I followed all the steps you mentionned (I viewed loads of your videos) to build my wardrobe. Thanks so much for sharing such a good content.
I'm *pretty* sure I'm a soft natural with my color season being a true spring. I haven't figured out my essence yet, but i think it's natural. I'd love for you to do a deep dive on the natural family (especially for mid and plus sized people!)
I do plan to do an in-depth for every essence and I'll consider this a vote for Natural. And I will definitely make sure it's inclusive👍 Let me know if you have any specific questions I can make sure to address in it as well
The trial run was great, would totally appreciate more videos like that. 👍 For an in-depth essence video, maybe Natural? That seems to be the one that's hardest to pin down.
Thank you so much for this video! I felt my cheeks turning pink when I saw my style parameters up there. And yes, you're right about structure vs. movement--I'd probably modify this now to "looks tailored, but allows for a body in motion underneath" (á la Fred Astaire). Funny you should mention a femme fatale hairdo, since I have indeed been trying to grow out my hair from a (curly) short cut for a while. And I love the look here. Again, thank you so much! (Note: "Tailored look that allows for a body in motion" is definitely a big part of why I love boiler suits so much. One-piece dressing plus a sharp visual plus wearing ease is extremely my cuppa.)
A few years ago, in an interview about her clothing line, Jessica Simspon spoke about her consideration for structure around the shoulder area, but found a way to allow the fabric to have some extra stretch/or give in the area, allowing more freedom of movement. Mabye that is achieved by cutting on the bias? That might have been more commonly found in prêt a porter clothing years and years ago, in the same way that lining was expected to be found in blazers.
@@Crewelperleology I do think cutting on the bias, adding underarm gussets, and aiming for ease of movement in a skirt or a pair of slacks was once the norm. So yes. (Nowadays being all but immobilized seems to be the fashion.)
Yes to boiler suits, those are amazing!! And maybe it's about tailoring and paying attention to fabric weights. A lighter fabric or less internal structure within a garment can allow for movement. As can a less fitted shape (like with the built in ease in a boiler suit). Love the Fred Astaire idea! Thank you soo much for submitting your style parameters!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Of course, of course. Fred Astaire has been one of my style inspirations for years--gamin busyness of his casual wear aside, his priority as a dancer was the line and the wearing ease. (He extended this care and attention to his dancing partners as well. Love that.) It's interesting you bring up unfitted shapes, simplified internal structure, and fabric weights. Two of my recent inspirations, Isadora Duncan and Martha Graham, would agree with you. (Eighty percent of the time I ask myself "Could I dance in this?".) Hurrah for boiler suits! I have been eyeballing the possibility of a tuxedo-flavored boiler suit in midnight blue. My main gripe about this: Midnight blue either ain't the current fashion or it's simply too expensive.
Really enjoying your analysis of interplay between essence, body type and seasonal colouring. Would be interested in gamine or natural essence on the different body types. Thank you so much for your content. You make it entertaining as well as interesting and informative. Xx
I’m so happy for this video, these series are really useful and make the path of styling way more comprehensive and enjoyable! ❤️ My preferences: I’m a Dramatic and my Essence is Natural-Ethereal-Dramatic, with curly hair. My seasonal color palette is Soft Summer and my personal style is inspired by abstract paintings like Miró and Kandinski, brush strokes, art-house horror cinema like Suspiria and Black Swan and the avant-garde fashion of Lady Gaga in the Fame Monster era. I want to appear powerful, mysterious and artsy. Elegance is also key. I am a photographer in a creative agency and I need to be comfortable to move easily, plus I dont want to overshadow my projects with my clothes. I like going out with my friends at cafés, for a walk or for club parties, and in my free time I do love looking bold and eye-catching.
I really liked all your different examples and type combinations, this type of video was so helpful for understanding how to combine all the styling techniques altogether which is what I've been struggling to find, thanks!
I loved these videos, thank you for your hard work 💚 My parameters: Kibbe type: Soft Classic Essence: Classic, Ingenue Personal style adjectives: sophisticated, graceful, delicate Colour season: Soft Autumn Lifestyle: Working as a therapist in private practice, located in a capital city (meaning a lot of public transportation and walking) Inspiration, vibes: librarian chic, academic french, parisienne minimal chic, classic feminine, ingenue
Seeing real people with real life needs was so enlightening. Thank you so much! I have no idea what my type or essence is. I just want to make wiser choices on clothing in the future. You inspired me to go shopping today just to try on different shapes than are in my closet.
Woohoo 🎉 Love the summer / soft dramatic examples thank you for including - I think the metallic shoes and shiny fabric are a great examples of how to add drama
Love how you change the cupboards with every example! The attention to details, the framed pictures 😂👌 As a Soft Summer Soft Dramatic, I felt the struggle! I think hair/makeup/accessories and shoes can play a role in creating the drama we need. As for the essence video, yes please! My vote goes for dramatic to go in order with the kibbe spectrum. But let's be honest I'll watch any essence! I join the previous comment about inclusivity: being overweight/underweight can change the way we dress. You mentioned in one of your videos how we should pinpoint what part of our body we want to highlight: maybe you can show examples that highlight the top part of the body vs one that highlights the legs? This is up to you of course, just a suggestion. Good day!
Loving these videos! Not 100% sure my stats, but think I am soft classic kibbe with deep winter color and ethereal essence (w/maybe some classic and natural ?) Basically I want to be a comfortable and functional elven princess 🧝♀️ 😂 I'm a professional musician (violinist), so I always need functional all-black dressy outfits for performances, and then comfortable teaching outfits for giving music lessons. Love to see new ideas!
This is soooo helpful! 💗 looking forward to more videos like this. 😊 I’m a kibbe romantic with Romantic ethereal classic essence and a soft autumn (though my hair is slightly dark so I stay toward the medium value colors in the palette). My style inspirations are birth of Venus/classic paintings, 50s glam, and Bridgerton/royalty vibes. I also like to dress modestly. I’d love help figuring out how to incorporate all this in both everyday casual looks and date night looks! 💕
Just seconding natural essence. I’m a Kibbe R and really look forward to this :) I’ve finally settled into my go to hair look which is basically the relaxed easy volume you spoke about and everything feels easier now. The hardest thing for me to find for my body type and essences are accessories-shoes, bags and sunglasses mainly-because I feel like I want them to have a barely there effect for my dominant essence but my bone structure is so delicate that to have that effect the accessories practically need to be non-existent.
Kibbe: soft gamine Seasonal colour analysis: deep winter Essence: unsure, but some blend of gamine and ingenue, and maybe some dramatic? will work on this with your tips :) Lifestyle: uni student, walks a lot Clothing dealbreakers: overly frilly things, prefers natural fibres Style adjectives: - Powerful: commanding authority, a polished look (I like lots of menswear because of this, especially in tailored jackets and in oxfords/other menswear-inspired shoes) - Sophisticated: smart, multidimensional, being put-together without being stuffy - Offbeat: creative, juxtaposing extremes (tailored menswear jacket with a girly midi skirt, that kind of thing), some novelty (patterned socks, fun accessories, etc.)
Loooooved this video. The section at the end where you showed ingenue essence with various Kibbe type examples was so helpful. I gave some parameters of mine on the last video but I'll elaborate here. I think I'm starting to get the hang of things, but I'm building my wardrobe from scratch and it's a challenge. I am a very petite Romantic (5'1") and I like a decent amount of modesty- nothing too short or tight, but I need waist emphasis and prefer low-ish necklines. I'm a Soft Summer (fair freckled skin, blue-grey eyes, long wavy 'bronde' hair) and at this point I think my essence blend contains Ethereal, Ingenue, Natural and some Romantic. I have been told I look like a fairy throughout my life, but also tended towards being a bit of a hippie chick, though as I'm nearing 30 I want to look more put together. I need my wardrobe to be versatile and indelicate- I'm a stay at home mom, homesteader, and budding entrepreneur, so I need to be able to move comfortably and look good, with a reasonable amount of boob access for breastfeeding. My style board would include cottagecore inspo, scenes from Pride & Prejudice 2005, Parisienne cool girl styles, and depictions of famous female mythological beings, like John William Waterhouse's Circe. Natural materials are non-negotiable and I'm not afraid to have a wardrobe consisting mostly of dresses, jeans, and tops and provide variance through seasonal outerwear, accessories, and hair and makeup.
Your videos are so fun! I'm a 5ft (and half an inch😋) korean, soft gamine, soft summer, with ingenue ethereal essence I think. I'm an opera singer so looking for a great audition dress that shows me off without looking to costume-y! Love the editing!! And you!
I love these videos, they’re so informative. I’d love to be considered for any future videos! I am a dramatic classic with a deep autumn seasonal color palette. I’m still trying to figure out my essences, but I do believe I have some gamine and natural, and some ethereal reflected in smaller beauty choices like makeup and nails and jewelry. I find it easy to put together outfits when it’s colder but always struggle in the summer to make outfits that feel comfortable enough to withstand the heat and are still different and stylish. I also struggle with my ID in that I find a lot of the styling tips and inspiration posts to be kind of boring or plain. I’m 29, 5’7” and have a somewhat thin body with a straight torso, and can get a little pear-shaped when I gain weight. I have a job in arts publishing and for the most part, I work from home but do occasionally go into the office. The dress code in my office is… there is none. Pretty much anything goes! I value comfort as much as style and prefer to wear looser bottoms and balance it out with more fitted (but not constricting) tops.I don’t mind playing with different fabrics but have noticed that I prefer heavier-weight bottoms and can handle more variety with tops. I want to look put together, easygoing, and creative. I like dressing in a way that is stylish but still utilitarian. No frills, literally and figuratively. My style influences are the 90s, street style, and a bit of y2k fashion. I’ve been loving some of the more sort of dorky looks Bella Hadid has been wearing occasionally. I love layering and creating interesting color stories with my garments but tend to keep a base of black even when using color. I have quite long and curly 3C hair, but alternate between wearing it curly and wearing it straight. It falls around my lower back and I always wear it down with a center part. I don’t like hair accessories or hats because I’m prone to headaches. I don’t really like wearing much jewelry but do always wear earrings when leaving my apt. I don’t like dainty or whimsical patterns like polka dots or any florals. I like stripes, grids, and plaid. I also like unique, all-over prints kind of like the kind found on some older cop.copine tops from the 90s. I also prefer pants over skirts, and only rarely wear dresses. x
I am very glad you did this video, your hard work is evident, and I admire you for it, please keep going!! My prefrences : Kibbe type : Romantic Essences : Classic, naturel, ingenuine Seasonal color : Deep winter Body type : Between inverted triangle and rectangle but also a petite since i am 5.3. The third crucial point is that I have scoliosis in my lower back and would like to attract attention away from it. I am a first-year architecture student who is unsure about how to shift from an adolescent to a young adult in terms of style. I prefer comfortable clothing, and I enjoy some 90s French or Italian style, with no more than two or three colors in one look. I'm also not comfortable revealing much skin. Thank you for helping !
Wow, I loved this video! Especially the part about trying out the essences one by one. I also loved the outfits you designed for each woman with the explanations. I have learned so much from you. You are so good at what you do.
I’m an SG with predominantly Natural, Romantic, and some Gamine Essences. I’m an Autumn not sure of the subtypes. Style parameters: nature/floral, edgy, relaxed but fitted, and low/no heels. Love your content! ❤
Ooo, I love this as someone who has explored the different systems but has found I had take elements from different systems to make it work for me especially as POC. Here's mine if you do another one: Body type: Petite (5'2), hourglass, south asian with light-medium skin and dark brown hair Kibbe ID: Romantic Essences: Classic, Romantic, Ingenue, Ethereal Colour palette: Soft summer who can lean into soft autumn occasionally Make-up/Hair: I like glossy skin with matte lips and soft eye shadow for everyday and shimmery for occasions. I have long hair with soft waves and I like to leave it at that most of the time. separate Style Adjectives: Elegant, sensual, thoughtful Wardrobe considerations: This is where it gets tricky. I work in a lab setting so I need to always wear pants and boots and things I can move easily in as i'll be mostly on my feet. Additionally, the clothing will be less revealing. For more going out, I am inspired by cottagecore, renfair styles for day time events whereas, for night time events I am more into fabrics like velvet and leather. Also, in general I prefer wearing boots/sneakers to heels which I reserve only for formal occasions.
Your videos are so insightful!! I would 100% pay for personal styling with you. For the next videos, I’d love to know more about the classic and natural essences.
I'm a soft natural, deep autumn - I believe my Essences in order of dominance are Natural, Dramatic, Romantic. I love effortless looking styles with a "pop" of edge. I love mixing fabric textures that are completely opposite. Think leather and lace, suede and denim etc. I love one bright bold color surrounded by neutrals. I DONT love accessories - maybe one or two but I feel clownish if I have multiple pieces on; they almost distract from ME.
Another awesome video!!! Thank you for the summer soft dramatic shoutout and I loved the outfit you put together for the featured SD parameters, especially the blazer!! Statement jackets are so cool but hard to wear, so I appreciate it 🤩 A video on romantic essence would be my vote!
Oh wow! I didn't know there's a continuation... I really love this video!! Hope I have a chance to be included (even tho mine's confusing). Kibbe body type: Pure Classic Essence: Classic and Ingenue Color season: Actually, I'm neutral. But I lean towards a summer palette. I'm a teenager who's still trying to find the type of fashion that'll look good on me. I go more with comfortable, lightweight, refined and minimal clothes. My currect clothes right now are dresses, blouses, skirts, t-shirts, and pants. I live in southeast asia and it's hot 24/7, so if I wear thick and heavy clothes, I sweat a lot and it's so uncomfortable. What I wanna focus on is going for a more casual or tomboy style of clothes. That's something I have a hard time on because of my Ingenue essence. One mistake I did in the past was buying oversized shirts, but it overwhelmed me because of my Classic body type. Don't know if it's possible but I hope you would consider! -Trixie
Thank you for doing these videos! They help me to understand how to blend the elements. I am a soft natural with bright spring coloring. I am a writer and filmmaker. So, my style parameters are tricky. I need outfits to work from home and go out on dates with my partner. However, I need outfits that make me stand out when I'm filming. I try for refined and elegant, but sometimes my romantic essence (especially with my hair and curves) takes over. My essences are romantic, classic, and ethereal (I think). "Selfishly," I would like you to examine the ethereal and classic essences more.
Love all these helpful videos, it's really taught me to embrace my body instead of wondering why I always look worse in outfits than other people, or being ashamed that I'm not as petite, or dramatic, or xyz as others... thank you 🖤 I hope it's not too late to add to the list! I'm a flamboyant natural, with potentially Romantic Ethereal Gamine essences (not pinpointed yet- I look amazing and classy in lace bodysuits, goddess dresses and button-down tea dresses. Fave outfit of all time is a burgundy velvet playsuit with cutouts plus a choker and chunky shoes). Despite having a natural frame I hate anything with a natural essence within the blend including the dreaded boho lol, preferring slightly grungy, regal or even classic looks. I also have a soft autumn palette. My style goals are to look effortlessly stylish, timeless, and relaxed but smouldering. Mood board descriptors: Think a red silk shirt with a low neckline; a tight skin-coloured roll neck top with dark sparkling eyeshadow; a mysterious woman draped over a plush armchair. I also love art deco interior design so could borrow some elements from there. Constraints: -My 'safe' outfits veer towards classic but never look quite right. -I struggle with being busty and sometimes looking frumpy e.g. in pure romantic prints or t-shirts, or conversely looking like a teenager e.g. crew necks or street style. -I'm uncomfortable in skirts or dresses, and due to my cooler climate need closed shoes or boots. Requirements: My requirements are comfort, a mix-and-match approach, and easy to dress up or down. I'd love to see an outfit for hosting a casual dinner party, or for work. I work from home so only need the top half to be professional, however would still want to look put together as well as comfy.
Ha, its funny! I actually didn't. I just have my hair pulled back so you can't see the lighter dye in my hair and my outfit has a very high contrast look so I look ULTRA pale.🙃 But I'll take it- love Snow White
These are so fun and informative! Thank you for the time that goes into making them. I recently had a lifestyle change going from a teacher to a stay at home mom and having my third son. I would love to be considered :) here is my breakdown: Comment: Body type: petite 5’3, long torso and short legs Kibbe: soft gamine Essence: ingenue with a little natural and classic Color palette: clear spring Desired vibe: sweet and sporty, but also a little teeny tiny sexy edge Wardrobe considerations: stay at home mom with three little boys. I love to look feminine but need athletic clothes to play catch, go on walks, help with baseball games, etc. Influences: the movies Clueless, Legally Blonde, White Christmas, Kathryn Hepburn, Hailey Bieber, balletcore/studio to street style Thanks again for the awesome videos :)
I love these types of videos, you can really see the variety within the kibbe types that come with personal styling preference! If you do another, I'd love to hear how you'd tackle mine My preferences: Body: petite theatrical romantic with a strong double curve. Color season: soft autumn. Characteristics: wheatish skin, dark brown/black hair, dark brown eyes. Essence: primary ingenue essence, secondary classic essence, tertiary ethereal essence. I have quite a bubbly personality- so people really pin the ingenue first; I'm often seen as cute or child-like. I like a girly style, but as I've aged I dislike being referred to as childish, so I'm not sure how to include the ingenue into my wardrobe without being thought of as childish; in the past, I tried to go for a more dramatic, grungy look, but my face didn't fully match my body. These days I prefer to go for a different look that's more harmonious with my features and strive to honour the classic essence more Adjectives: elegant, casually refined, romantic Non-negotiable: flat shoes/a small heel/ or platform. Otherwise I'll break an ankle. Everyday styling: hair is shoulder length waves with a long see through curtain bangs, and go-to make-up is a small brown winged eyeliner, a soft MLBB pink, and smear of shimmery eyeshadow Fashion inspiration: Kpop idol Jennie's general/airport style, and Kpop idol IU (Lee Jieun)'s airport style I think she might be a TR too. I'm 25y.o. and work from home, casual/smart casual is my day to day, have no particular colors that I prefer, I just find that busy small sized-prints don't harmonize well with me, and too many elements can easily bog me down
Omg i loved this video Gabyy, i am a Flamboyant natural, a REALLY curvy one, so i struggled a lot between soft dramatic and Flamboyant natural, but i'm more muscular, broad, and have this strong look of the flamboyant natural body type. Also, my parents are Flamboyant natural and soft natural, so i think that's a point. I figured out my season first and i am a deep winter. And recently i've been figuring out my essence and i think it's principaly dramatic and romantic, because of my imponent presence, kinda mysterious(? And prominent lush yin. And secondary a classic-ethereal look, because of my elegant aura and old soul vibe)? Kind of another time. Something as reinassance clothes look good on me. I feel this is too much text but this is my personal analysis. Thank you so much for everything girll
Curvy Flamboyant Natural here as well! I do have the measures of an hourglass figure, but overall my bone structure is more dominant than my softness. Clothes that accomodate a vertical line and that follow my waistline looks best (follow the waist line is not cutting off with a contrasting belt etc. That makes me look out of balance somehow.). I think because of our curves, we can lent some of the clothing recommendations of Soft Dramatics. My essence is ethereal/angelic, and because of this, I can easily wear shiny and glittery fabrics (which are often recomended for Theatrical Romantic, not for FN). And as a soft summer I should keep it cool😉, but not too cold.
Yay thanks for including the summer soft dramatic thread from last video! Also I was binging project runway this weekend and was shook when I saw you pop up on the screen 😂 I was like huh she looks like Gabrielle.
Thank you for these informative videos! body type: dramatic classic essence: natural/romantic seasonal color: deep autumn style: still figuring out my style, but I want to look put-together but relaxed. I work in a casual office setting, and in the weekends, I like the model off-duty look
Kibbe: Classic Essence: Mostly Classic, with a bit of Ingenue and Romantic Personal Style: timeless, classic and elegant Adjectives: same as personal style except for the last one, it's "neat" Season: Deep/dark winter Lifestyle: I live in the Philippines, so clothes that are weather appropriate (AKA doesn't make me sweat), comfy, allows movement and high quality is what I need. I hope my style parameters get featured! I rlly, _rlly_ like your vids!
When it comes to creating outfits for your personal blend AND liking, it gets tricky easily. So this video is really helpful just to understand everything better and don't stress too much about it. I am more of an intuitive picker. Which just means: I pick outfits and combinations intuitively depending on the occasion. E.g. for my wedding I wore a dress, hairstyle, make up etc. that really underlined the ethereal in my essence blend (even though I didn't know anything about this at that time). When I look at the photos today, I can really see that. The color, the shapes, the materials and the overall look was perfect to make me look exactly the way I wanted to that day. Which is funny enough coz for most occasions I wouldn't wanna look that airy and otherworldly. Oh, by the way... the ethereal essence is something I rarely wanna show to other people. When I wear absolutely no make up and wear light colors from my palette, I look insanely ethereal (pale eyebrows, pale lashes, upturned big eyes - which all doesn't show as much as soon as I wear make up) but other than that it barely shows unless I want it to. I love how your outfits, hair and make up can really highlight or conceal parts of your essence blend. I do have Ingenue within my blend too and loved to highlight that when I was younger (still not knowing my essence back then) but prefer not to nowadays. I'm actually very happy to be a SN with nice structure to my face and body that I can also easily highlight or downplay with clothes, hair and make up. And while I thought I had no Gamine essence at all, the template you offer on your website tells me I do have quite a bit of Gamine essence which would explain why I tend to go for gamine-ish elements in my style and like how they look at me. The template also tells me I have barely any romantic, dramatic or classic. I do love accent pieces in my wardrobe (I got a leather jacket with studs and lots of structure but a collar that is nice for a natural type that I love to wear and while it would probably look amazing on a flamboyant gamine, I feel like it's just perfect for my style too) but overall my wardrobe consists of rather natural appropriate pieces with a touch of gamine (accidentally tbh and barely anything that feels "boho" coz that's totally not my style). I think sometimes when you just go with what you like on yourself, you'll accidentally choose a mix of clothes that actually fits your personal blend of everything naturally. And when you then learn how to put those pieces together to honor your overall natural shape and look, you will end up with dressing confidently and feeling just like yourself.
I GET SUPER EXCITED WHEN I SEE YOU'VE UPLOADED!!! edit: the 'test run' was good! also in the essence video how to create harmony in two seemingly clashing essences; dramatic (vertical and, ka pow!) and romantic (soft and lush)
That makes me so happy! And yes Ill include those topics in the individual essence videos. I'm thinking maybe we do a whole troubleshooting video eventually. How to make an essence more casual, what to do if your kibbe id and essences don't mesh, how to use a color outside your palette, or anything else you guys might need help with or have questions about.
I know there’s a long list but i don’t mind the wait 💜 love this series! Kibbe: romantic Essence: ingenue, romantic, classic Season: true summer (leaning soft summer if my hair is lighter) Personal style: i take a lot of inspiration from Monet and i tend to wear a lot of blues, greens & purples (though i like a good neutral). I’ve definitely noticed that i look best in lightweight fabrics and anything high rise or with waist emphasis, but i’m also pretty casual in my lifestyle (i’m a middle school counselor). I like to look put together, but not overly formal or restrictive. Desired vibe: feminine (some balance of my ingenue and romantic essences) and approachable If you decide to use my info, i’d love to see what you’d choose for me as a first date look, or any look featuring a coat! 😊
I'm bella😆 I'm so excited to be in this video. I really love what you suggested, especially that you also mentioned about hairstyle and nails! Love the idea of adding grunge nails! Totally my style! I wasn't really blouse type of person but def gonna try some!
Oh i'm so glad you like it! And yes, hairstyles and accessories or nails can really help cement an aesthetic. Thank you so much for contributing your parameters ☺️
Wow what an amazing video! I would really appreciate if you could do romantic soft summer really girly and romantic essence but also edgy and gothic without losing the girly romantic. Thank you!
This is great !! I'm a soft Dramatic and a bright spring. I think an ethereal or dramatic essence. I want to be comfortable, relaxed and refined with low maintenance in mind (no big overly styled hair for me). Being 6 foot and a F cup means no heels and clothes that are modest enough. I want to completely redesign my wardrobe. I'm a paediatric therapist and mom and enjoy putting in some extra effort of weekends. I don't usually like prints and love teal. I like clean monochromatic outfits but also the grunge/alt styles too. - Mac ❤️
I haven’t seen anyone do anything like this, so this is great. It can be really confusing trying to put all of the recommendations together. I’m a soft natural with a dark autumn color palette. I haven’t quite figured out my essences yet but I think I have some mixture of romantic, ingenue, and something else. My style varies from y2k to dark academia.
Hey, you seem to be narrowing your horizons by refercing trendy aesthetics so I would go through your online wishlists and ask yourself why you like each piece. Also 'Heaven Sent Honey' on yt has a video on finding your aesthetic and it's really in-depth :)
@@oldaccxunt is it this video th-cam.com/video/GDntxS3NCuoT/w-d-xo.htmlhanks btw, I do wear other aesthetics but I tend to gravitate toward 90s fashion and more academia pieces. I’m still exploring other aesthetics so I appreciate your response.
I love these! If you decide to do another one, I'd love to hear how you'd do mine: Body type: Petite (5'1"), pear-shaped, short torso, narrow shoulders Kibbe: Soft Classic Essences: Classic, Romantic, Natural Colour palette: Deep winter Rita's 4 quadrants: Right/Down Wardrobe considerations: WFH so need a comfy look that's professional on camera. Creative field. Early 40s. Canadian, so wardrobe needs to be winter-friendly. I usually shop in petites section to find clothes that fit.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Colour palette: ETA: I said Deep Winter as shorthand but the truth is I've never been able to quite find my palette in the seasonal system. I'm a very pale freckled redhead with cool pink-toned skin and green eyes, so definitely not typically what you'd think of for DW colouring, but in my experience, lighter and warmer shades wash me out and make me look sickly. One thing I've often struggled with is that many of the more yin-leaning recommendations for Soft Classic, Romantic, right/down in Rita's system, etc. are often these light pale pastels, which are some of the worst colours on me. Reconciling these two seemingly contradictory things is insanely hard!
Your videos are so informational! I really like your approach to Kibbe and style :)) I think it would be interesting to see a video where you style the pieces in your wardrobe that are not part of your essence (like the gamine pieces for exemple)
Cool this content is so informative especially on the essences 😍 Thank you for putting the work into it. I also want to put myself into the mix: Height: 5‘7 Body Type: SD Color Season: Soft or Deep Autumn Essences: Natural, Romantic (maybe Ingenue) Body: long legs, short torso Style: a mix of select, elegant, streetstyle pieces Job: Working remotely as a trainer/coach, I mostly go for walks or meet people at home/ in parks, but I still prefer to look like care has gone into my outfit. Vibe: in need of clothes that make me appear simultaneously stylish, desirable and respectable. While the clothes have to remain mostly comfy.
Love this!!! In case you also want to try this for men I'll give it a shot Kibbe: theatrical romantic Essence: don't know, but seeing as I look great with pigtails I suspect ingenue is in there Season: soft autumn Style: I like androgynous looks Korean fashion, more specifically Taemin in his Move era Non-negotiable: I always travel by bicycle and work a minimum wage job with lots of walking and work with food, so shoes should preferably be durable and hair should be up. I live in West-Europe which typically has a lot of drizzle going on, although it seems to get dryer in recent years. Also I'm in the process of growing out my hair and don't want to cut it whatsoever. I have tremendous difficulty finding anything that fits either my Kibbe type or my essence, let alone both. Also I want to keep my natural straight hair as much as possible.
I really love these videos! And you, you do it in such a nice, fun and approachable way. Thank you for your work! If you do more of these, I would love to be included eventually :) I am a soft classic with a soft summer seasonal color palette. I haven't completely figured out my essences, I've always been quite versatile, but right now I would say my dominant essences are: Classic, Dramatic and Ingenue. I have medium to light blonde long hair, dark blue eyes and my brows are darker compared to my hair color. I'm 24, 5"4/ 164cm and a soft hourglass. I'm a life coach and my business runs online so I usually work from home. I love getting dressed up for myself though. I like looking sophisticated and elegant, but approachable and relaxed with a bit of a sexy vibe. I don't like it when things look too stiff/ conservative. I quite love Korean Fashion, both the more laid back as well as the more dressed up type and Dabagirl is the brand I find my style the most in. My go to make up is a subtle brown winged liner and a bit of a red lip (sometimes bold but day-to-day just a bit tinted). I like wearing my hair open and with a slight wave, or in a nice high ponytail with my fringe out (I have see-through curtain bangs). I prefer varying with texture over pattern (although a nice smaller floral, stripe or polka dot are welcome), I like a good bold ruffle and I'm a sucker for dress pants and midi skirts.
I think I might have to correct myself! I learned more about my essence when I went to the jungle and wore different clothes than usual, and now I'm almost sure my essence might be Classic, Ethereal and Natural :o
Love this series! I’m a soft natural and a dark winter. Not sure how to combine those two yet. Not totally sure about essence but I’m petite and I’d say I love a dark fairytale vibe… but I work in a conservative office!
Amazing video! Would love to see more examples like these. I particularly identified with Bella since I'm a romantic with classic undercurrent but as a teacher can't really wear things that accentuate my curves. I tend to go for classic looks and leave the more romantic outfits for the weekend.
Really enjoying these and playing with figuring out my essence ratio. I was really convinced of a heavy ingenue, but I have to accommodate a larger bust and higher necklines don't work super well. I think I'm definitely on the subtler, less cutesy side of ingenue. I'll have to give it a try. I did enjoy the examples you gave! Very helpful I'd personally love to see ethereal or romantic, especially choices that are more casual.
Yes in the in-depth essence videos I will give some more examples on how to make them more casual. I don't think ingenues have to rock higher necklines, but they can go that way. I'd play around with some of the subtler feminintity options- maybe some antique style prints, or lighter colors/laces, delicate trim etc.
thank you so much for this video! im a romantic with ingenue essence, and its so difficult to be consistent and look put together. im so short (5) and live in a tropical climate, so only a few of the traditional western outfits really apply to me. im still on my journey and can’t wait for your breakdowns, but this has already helped me breakdown my outfits and style.
I'm an interior designer, and your videos and the education on style parameters has changed the game in my designs. I've been able to take the information you've given me and utilize it in interiors to create spaces that emphasize the individual. It's helped me design in a way that makes the client look like they truly belong in their space. Thank you for helping me level up 🖤
What a cool idea! Maybe you could collaborate with Gabrielle....
Oh my gosh! This is soo cool to hear, thank you so much for sharing that. Means a lot to help a fellow creative and designer!🥰
the people want this content!!
Im asian but definitely not Ethereal 😂
Love your extra thoughts here on expanding definition of Ethereal!
Link to the reddit please? I guess that would be real helpful
This is so fun! I love guessing what you’re going to suggest and then be … totally wrong. What a great series.
Haha! Well at least I keep you on your toes with guessing 😊 I hope to do another one of these soon!
Also I can't wait for when you do a soft classic look book on your blog. That is my kibbe type! I can't wait for your insight!
Ok, I'll do that one next!!
Seriously!!!! TYSM I'll look out for it!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign ditto from another soft classic!
Thirded on the Soft Classic!
Me too.
I really love this! It really takes in so many things into consideration!
I'm a....
Kibbe: soft classic
Essence: classic, ethereal
Color: muted/soft summer
Vibe: sweet and feminine, elegant without looking too serious, slightly mysterious
Wardrobe non-negotiables: not too revealing (no deep necklines or very short hemmings), higher waisted bottoms, waist emphasis is preferred, no sleeveless or tight upper arm (my fat goes to my arms and I'd like to hide that)
I have been told before that I feel intimidating to approach when I'm alone and expressionless.
I'll add it to my list!
I was tired of watching the same kibbe old videos over and over and this is the new ,original content we were looking for 🎉🎉
I also have a little struggle being a dc but not being able to wear neutral colors, I’m a winter ( probably true winter) and browns and beige look awful on my light olive cool skintone.my essence is also classic and gamine ( which initially confused me in my id journey).
It’s already helped me a lot 😍
i want more of that! need to see some FGs, misunderstood people
What can I say??? WOW just, WOW!! You are more informative than google - and I mean that in a good way!! I have never seen such an informative video on styling and creating outfits EVER!!! Where on earth have you been?? I can see this channel going places!! This is AWESOME!!! Thank you for taking the time to create this demonstration, and putting it all together. I appreciate it must have taken such a long time to do.
Thank you so much!! Means a lot 😊
This is so much fun to watch! It's like the outfit version of making a mixtape for someone! Not sure if you're still taking real examples to add to your list for future videos, but just in case...
- Romantic (Kibbe)
- Hourglass
- Mid size to plus size
- Main three essences: ethereal, ingenue, romantic (in fairly equal amounts)
- Soft Summer
- Style keywords: earthy, imaginative, gentle, free-spirited
- I'm still working on my personal style map but so far it's just pictures of fictional characters who are style inspirations to me, including Jackie from That '70s Show, Lucy from A Room With A View, Chuck from Pushing Daisies, Alexis from Schitt's Creek, Molly from Uptown Girls, and Mandella from 10 Things I Hate About You.
- I'd love to see an outfit that is casual and comfy enough to wear around the house but can quickly be done up a little for going out during the day.
added to the list!
What an awesome video, just as useful as the last! Loved how you demonstrated how an essence could be added bit by bit, that is such a helpful tool in finding how much to lean one way or another. Would love to see an in depth ingenue essence vid. In case you need more for your list!:
Kibbe/essence: ingenue-gamine (but not a highly contrasted G, facial feature-wise)
Season: deep autumn
Vibe/style: flirty, otherworldly, effortless, chic (but not stiff)

Daily life: fresh graduate, inner city living, hybrid internship work (not corporate), social outings.
Your videos are amazing. Yeyy this video was great! 😍👏
I'm a soft classic, soft autumn with romantic classic essence.
I will try to include more winters!
Oh I'm so glad it has been helpful in your style journey and you've narrowed down your essence blend further! That's amazing to hear🥰

Oh I'm so glad! Thank you!!
The trial run was great, would totally appreciate more videos like that. 👍
For an in-depth essence video, maybe Natural? That seems to be the one that's hardest to pin down.
Ethereal was in the lead but Natural is quickly catching up!
Love that.)
It's interesting you bring up unfitted shapes, simplified internal structure, and fabric weights. Two of my recent inspirations, Isadora Duncan and Martha Graham, would agree with you. (Eighty percent of the time I ask myself "Could I dance in this?".)
Hurrah for boiler suits! I have been eyeballing the possibility of a tuxedo-flavored boiler suit in midnight blue. My main gripe about this: Midnight blue either ain't the current fashion or it's simply too expensive.
This is a great format!
My preferences:
I’m a Dramatic and my Essence is Natural-Ethereal-Dramatic, with curly hair. Thank you! 🥰
Woohoo 🎉 Love the summer / soft dramatic examples thank you for including - I think the metallic shoes and shiny fabric are a great examples of how to add drama
I'm glad it helped! There are definitely more ways but texture and scale contrast can really help. Larger scale prints could also be effective
Good day!
That’s a great idea! I’ll try to find a good way to include this 😊
I love the "trial run" portion of this video. Seeing how the different kibbe lines would be translated with a specific essence. Super helpful.
Loving these videos! Not 100% sure my stats, but think I am soft classic kibbe with deep winter color and ethereal essence (w/maybe some classic and natural ?) Basically I want to be a comfortable and functional elven princess 🧝♀️ 😂
I'm a professional musician (violinist), so I always need functional all-black dressy outfits for performances, and then comfortable teaching outfits for giving music lessons. Love to see new ideas!
It's so much fun to watch👏👏I would love to see Soft Classic in trendy and fun outfits🎀
Great idea!!
I love the things you did at the end of this video! And your videos in general. Thank you so much!
I identified with Rachel and then you recommended the hot pink velvet suit that I own so I feel very validated rn 😇
Kibbe: soft gamine
Seasonal colour analysis: deep winter
Essence: unsure, but some blend of gamine and ingenue, and maybe some dramatic? will work on this with your tips :)
Lifestyle: uni student, walks a lot
Clothing dealbreakers: overly frilly things, prefers natural fibres
Style adjectives:
- Powerful: commanding authority, a polished look (I like lots of menswear because of this, especially in tailored jackets and in oxfords/other menswear-inspired shoes)
- Sophisticated: smart, multidimensional, being put-together without being stuffy
- Offbeat: creative, juxtaposing extremes (tailored menswear jacket with a girly midi skirt, that kind of thing), some novelty (patterned socks, fun accessories, etc.)
Thank you! I've added it to my list!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign aaaa I'm so excited!
this is gonna sound so weird but these videos are so satisfying to watch.
😂 that actually makes me feel better since they take awhile to make
@@Gabriellearrudadesign they definitely seem so!!
You did a fantastic job on Jane, dandy meets femme fatale! I was thinking, what on earth is that going to look like, but you did it!
Ha, thank you!
That was great video!
thank you!!
I really think your videos are so well worked-through and have so many helpful perspectives. Also LOVE the trial runs at the end. They help a ton.
Thank you! I’m glad they are helpful 🥰
My prefrences :
Kibbe type : Romantic
Essences : Classic, naturel, ingenuine
Seasonal color : Deep winter
Body type : Between inverted triangle and rectangle but also a petite since i am 5.3.
Thank you! Added to the list!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign thank yoouu ! YOU ARE SOO AMAZING !
Wow, I loved this video! Especially the part about trying out the essences one by one. I also loved the outfits you designed for each woman with the explanations. I have learned so much from you. You are so good at what you do.
Thank you, that is such a kind thing to say!
so many examples, so helpful! you deserve everything you want in life cus the way you help us in unbelieveblé
Hey Gabrielle, your videos are guiding me a lot. Thank you for all the effort!
I’m an SG with predominantly Natural, Romantic, and some Gamine Essences. I’m an Autumn not sure of the subtypes. Style parameters: nature/floral, edgy, relaxed but fitted, and low/no heels. Love your content! ❤
Omg this pure gold.
Ooo, I love this as someone who has explored the different systems but has found I had take elements from different systems to make it work for me especially as POC.
Here's mine if you do another one:
Body type: Petite (5'2), hourglass, south asian with light-medium skin and dark brown hair
Kibbe ID: Romantic
Essences: Classic, Romantic, Ingenue, Ethereal
Colour palette: Soft summer who can lean into soft autumn occasionally
Make-up/Hair: I like glossy skin with matte lips and soft eye shadow for everyday and shimmery for occasions. I have long hair with soft waves and I like to leave it at that most of the time.
separate
Style Adjectives: Elegant, sensual, thoughtful
Wardrobe considerations: This is where it gets tricky.
Statement jackets are so cool but hard to wear, so I appreciate it 🤩
A video on romantic essence would be my vote!
I'm so glad you liked it!! And I'll note the romantic vote👍
Oh wow! I didn't know there's a continuation... I really love this video!! Hope I have a chance to be included (even tho mine's confusing).
Kibbe body type: Pure Classic
Essence: Classic and Ingenue
Color season: Actually, I'm neutral.
These videos are EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you for your time and effort!
Thank you! I’m so glad to hear it 🥰
Love all these helpful videos, it's really taught me to embrace my body instead of wondering why I always look worse in outfits than other people, or being ashamed that I'm not as petite, or dramatic, or xyz as others... thank you 🖤 I hope it's not too late to add to the list!
Constraints:
-My 'safe' outfits veer towards classic but never look quite right.
Requirements:
My requirements are comfort, a mix-and-match approach, and easy to dress up or down.
I'd love to see an outfit for hosting a casual dinner party, or for work.
I work from home so only need the top half to be professional, however would still want to look put together as well as comfy.
'the dreaded boho look' lmao ikwym
Paused 40 sec in- Gaby coloured her hair? You look like snow white today, beautiful🤗🍎❄️ok continuing to watch snd learn🤓💓
Ha, its funny! I actually didn't. I just have my hair pulled back so you can't see the lighter dye in my hair and my outfit has a very high contrast look so I look ULTRA pale.🙃 But I'll take it- love Snow White
Your videos are so cool
thank you!!
These are so fun and informative! Thank you for the time that goes into making them. I recently had a lifestyle change going from a teacher to a stay at home mom and having my third son. I would love to be considered :) here is my breakdown:
Comment:
Body type: petite 5’3, long torso and short legs
Kibbe: soft gamine
Essence: ingenue with a little natural and classic
Color palette: clear spring
Desired vibe: sweet and sporty, but also a little teeny tiny sexy edge
Wardrobe considerations: stay at home mom with three little boys. I love to look feminine but need athletic clothes to play catch, go on walks, help with baseball games, etc.
Influences: the movies Clueless, Legally Blonde, White Christmas, Kathryn Hepburn, Hailey Bieber, balletcore/studio to street style
Thanks again for the awesome videos :)
Thank you- I've addeed you to the list and will try to include this one in the next video like this🥰
god i love your channel!!!! so relatable and funny and it’s everything 🤩✨
Thank you so much!!
I love these types of videos, you can really see the variety within the kibbe types that come with personal styling preference! If you do another, I'd love to hear how you'd tackle mine
My preferences:
Body: petite theatrical romantic with a strong double curve.
These days I prefer to go for a different look that's more harmonious with my features and strive to honour the classic essence more
Adjectives: elegant, casually refined, romantic
Non-negotiable: flat shoes/a small heel/ or platform. Otherwise I'll break an ankle.
Everyday styling: hair is shoulder length waves with a long see through curtain bangs, and go-to make-up is a small brown winged eyeliner, a soft MLBB pink, and smear of shimmery eyeshadow
Fashion inspiration: Kpop idol Jennie's general/airport style, and Kpop idol IU (Lee Jieun)'s airport style I think she might be a TR too.
I'm 25y.o. and work from home, casual/smart casual is my day to day, have no particular colors that I prefer, I just find that busy small sized-prints don't harmonize well with me, and too many elements can easily bog me down
I would love to see classic essence on the different body IDs in a way that isn't boring
This is incredible and you are a genius!
Thanks ☺️
Yay thanks for including the summer soft dramatic thread from last video! Also I was binging project runway this weekend and was shook when I saw you pop up on the screen 😂 I was like huh she looks like Gabrielle.
haha, oh yes... not my finest designing moments but hey🙃
really nice ❤
Thank you for these informative videos!
body type: dramatic classic
essence: natural/romantic
seasonal color: deep autumn
style: still figuring out my style, but I want to look put-together but relaxed. I work in a casual office setting, and in the weekends, I like the model off-duty look
I've added it to the list!
Thank you so much for the video, it shows you put a lot of time and effort into it ❤
Thank you so much!!🙂
Kibbe: Classic
Essence: Mostly Classic, with a bit of Ingenue and Romantic
Personal Style: timeless, classic and elegant
Adjectives: same as personal style except for the last one, it's "neat"
Season: Deep/dark winter
Lifestyle: I live in the Philippines, so clothes that are weather appropriate (AKA doesn't make me sweat), comfy, allows movement and high quality is what I need.
I hope my style parameters get featured! I rlly, _rlly_ like your vids!
Great Video!! Loved the new part essence by kibbe type.
Kibbe: romantic
Essence: ingenue, romantic, classic
Season: true summer (leaning soft summer if my hair is lighter)
Personal style: i take a lot of inspiration from Monet and i tend to wear a lot of blues, greens & purples (though i like a good neutral). I’ve definitely noticed that i look best in lightweight fabrics and anything high rise or with waist emphasis, but i’m also pretty casual in my lifestyle (i’m a middle school counselor). I like to look put together, but not overly formal or restrictive.
Desired vibe: feminine (some balance of my ingenue and romantic essences) and approachable
If you decide to use my info, i’d love to see what you’d choose for me as a first date look, or any look featuring a coat!
I would love to see more of a gamine essence especially when it applies to opposite Kibbe types like romantic and natural.
Love the idea of the trial run and it would be great if this was explored in more detail :)
Wow what an amazing video! I would really appreciate if you could do romantic soft summer really girly and romantic essence but also edgy and gothic without losing the girly romantic. Thank you!
We read the lessons, this video is like exercises with correction, next is the final test (typing and styling ourselves)
Ahh yes, I love that!!
Oh my goodness you included me!!!! That’s me!! 🤩🤩🤩 thank youuuuu🥹🥹🥹🥹❤️🩹😍🤗🤗thank you🌹
I love these! If you decide to do another one, I'd love to hear how you'd do mine:
Body type: Petite (5'1"), pear-shaped, short torso, narrow shoulders
Kibbe: Soft Classic
Essences: Classic, Romantic, Natural
Colour palette: Deep winter
Rita's 4 quadrants: Right/Down
Wardrobe considerations: WFH so need a comfy look that's professional on camera. Creative field. Early 40s. Canadian, so wardrobe needs to be winter-friendly. I usually shop in petites section to find clothes that fit.
You got it, I've added it to the list!
Really good idea.
That could be fun! I'm going to add this to my idea list, thank you!!
Cool this content is so informative especially on the essences 😍 Thank you for putting the work into it.
I also want to put myself into the mix:
Height: 5‘7
Body Type: SD
Color Season: Soft or Deep Autumn
Essences: Natural, Romantic (maybe Ingenue)
Body: long legs, short torso
Style: a mix of select, elegant, streetstyle pieces
Job: Working remotely as a trainer/coach, I mostly go for walks or meet people at home/ in parks, but I still prefer to look like care has gone into my outfit.
Vibe: in need of clothes that make me appear simultaneously stylish, desirable and respectable. While the clothes have to remain mostly comfy.
You're so welcome, I'm glad it's helping. And I added you to the list!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign yay thank you 😍😊🎉
Love this!!! In case you also want to try this for men I'll give it a shot
Kibbe: theatrical romantic
Essence: don't know, but seeing as I look great with pigtails I suspect ingenue is in there
Season: soft autumn
Style: I like androgynous looks Korean fashion, more specifically Taemin in his Move era
Non-negotiable: I always travel by bicycle and work a minimum wage job with lots of walking and work with food, so shoes should preferably be durable and hair should be up.
Love this, I'll definitely give it a shot! I've added it to my list
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thank you!
Update: got my essence typed and I'm mostly natural with either dramatic or ethereal. Ingenue is not or barely part of my essence.
I really love these videos! And you, you do it in such a nice, fun and approachable way. Thank you for your work! If you do more of these, I would love to be included eventually :)
I am a soft classic with a soft summer seasonal color palette.
Love this! I've added it to my list🥰
That seems like a good way to approach it! I plan to do another one of these next!
That was a lot of work! Well done.
Thank you!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign thanks for the advice 😊
I’d love to see the Dramatic-Gamine or Dramatic-Natural-Gamine essence covered! 😬
thank you so much for this video! im a romantic with ingenue essence, and its so difficult to be consistent and look put together. im so short (5) and live in a tropical climate, so only a few of the traditional western outfits really apply to me. im still on my journey and can’t wait for your breakdowns, but this has already helped me breakdown my outfits and style.
Glad it was helpful!
