  • How to make aroma bead air fresheners - ordering from a new company
    Hi Friends, I've been listening to all your comments and emails complaining about the price of shipping and the length of shipping time from the company I mentioned in my first video. I have a solution! Watch the video for all the info. Links below to where I ordered from, too.

    Thanks for sharing your videos... I’m a newbie and just trying to gather all my purchases 1st... then I’ll get to the cooking part. I’ve ordered scents from a company in Keller Tx. Hope they’re are good as the names sound! And hopefully I can make a stop by their shop on my next visit to Tx. Thanks, Sandie

    Hi! I want to start off by saying I love your videos. I have learned everything I need to know by just watching your videos. They are my favorite. I do have a question though and I don't think you covered it but I could be wrong. How do you add decorative pieces to the candles? I've seen some cute ones that add feathers, flowers, ribbon, and mini bandannas but I can't figure out how this is done. Would you just use a hot glue gun when its completely cooled off from the oven or would you attach these items when the candles are still warm?

    • @CookingandCouponing
      @CookingandCouponing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Michelle Franson hi! Thank you 😊 I did do a video showing how to add bottle caps and things to the center. You can add whatever you like, just add it as soon as it comes out of the oven while it’s still hot and sticky. For feathers, just push them in wherever you want them. I need to do another video showing this. Thanks for watching!

There was zero way to get them out without damaging my cookie cutter. :( Any advice? They didn’t stick to the pan. Just the cutter. We had several people attempt to twist, wiggle, and dislodge it.

    Does anyone know what the clear plastic bags that retailers place these finished air fresheners in? They aren’t the same plastic as ziplocks, they are crystal clear and more “crunchy” when you grab them, they do zip closed at the top.
    Thanks!

      Look in any hobby/craft shop or on Amazon for polypropylene bags, which is what you’re referring to. They’re designed to keep contents fresh and are great for ensuring as much scent retention as possible for things like wax melts and air fresheners.

    Does the flashpoint of the fragrance oils matter?

    • @AngryBeeScents
      @AngryBeeScents ปีที่แล้ว

      The flashpoint of candle fragrance oil is the temperature at which point it becomes combustible if exposed to a spark or flame. The flashpoint is generally only important for those making gel candles and for determining shipping methods. Certain gel waxes require fragrance oils with a flashpoint of 170° or higher.

    Hi..newbie here..ive been doin what i seen and heard everyone was doin i did about 4oz of beads to a TBS of oil some i even added way more oil lol and within 4hrs they were not stickin heck some were not stickin in 2 hrs does tht mean i didnt use enuff oil? I went back and added more b cuz my very first batch smelled good BUT not smelling in my car at all unless i grab it and smell it up close tht way so what am i doin wrong i dnt want to keep wasting..i cant afford to keep messing up ya know..like i said aprox..4oz some have less cuz im just learning and kind of practicing i guess bit dnt want to waste plus i gotta get more oil i heard some ppl use 1oz of oil to me tht seems like alot more than 1TBS but i did add more oil in order to get smell out more prominent and it just doesnt seem to be sticking to jar very long id say within 2-4hrs some arent stickin uugh lol

    • @CookingandCouponing
      @CookingandCouponing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1. Make sure you’re using quality oils. Some of the cheaper ones do not have a good “throw” of their scent. 2. Let them cure for a few days even after the oils dry. 3. Try cooking them on lower temp for a little longer if you’re still not getting a good scent. That works with some brand of oils. Those are a few options to try.

    • @mtblondie0036
      @mtblondie0036 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi ty for replying so quickly..i thought the same about oils cuz a few are fragrance oil and not actual essential oil but its happening no matter which oil i use i just dnt know why there drying so fast is it maybe tht i got a good batch of beads? Idk but i just made another batch today and i put it in car and 4hrs later my car smelled so good so yay it worked so im gonna go with i have to use more oil uugh well at least until i get better oils..but again most of them are good essential oils..well i did find out this is not a cheap craft..or hobby or small business thing to do thts for sure now i see why most ppl charge what they do. The oils and the amount u have to use is costly thts for sure lol..ty for ur opinion and hell i am gonna try it again i ordered some more beads from stay fresh with peanut so fingers crossed tht the beads are good and it al works out lol

      Try using parchment paper on the pan if you're going to use traditional cookie cutters to make sure they are completely cooled before taking them out. Or I would suggest switching to a different type of mold.

    Do I have to worry about fragrance flashpoint when heating?

    • @CookingandCouponing
      @CookingandCouponing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cindy Artz I’ve never had an issue. My understanding is you only have to worry about the flashpoint of the oil if it comes into contact with an open flame. Since we’re mixing the oil with beads prior to heating and we’re not pouring the oil into a heated wax, we’re good. PSA, always read the warnings on the oil you’re using.

    • @carol-annmarshall576
      @carol-annmarshall576 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CookingandCouponing the flashpoint happens because of the temp being to high. i make candles and even plain uncented wax has a flashpoint and its always in a melting pot of some kind. Its not to do with bare flames, proper candle fragrance oils are alcohol free also. id imagine there would be quite a bit of fragrance burn of at such a high temp even for 7 minutes.

    • @AngryBeeScents
      @AngryBeeScents ปีที่แล้ว

      The flashpoint of candle fragrance oil is the temperature at which point it becomes combustible if exposed to a spark or flame. The flashpoint is generally only important for those making gel candles and for determining shipping methods. Certain gel waxes require fragrance oils with a flashpoint of 170° or higher.

      maybe baking too long. I did that when I began and ruined the cookie cutter with beads that were glued to the sides. over cooked. You can also spray pam onto a paper towel and lightly wipe the inside of your cookie cutter but be sure NOT to use much. i bake mine at 325 for around 8 minutes and so far it's been perfect.

      This is quite common with newer beads. If they have been sitting for awhile, they won’t smell. As you produce the beads, they have a vinegar smell, or silicon smell. It will dissipate once the beads are scented and baked.
