Glad you liked it Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments 👌 In general, your air freshener should release fragrance for about 4-6 weeks. For commercial formulation, longevity of your fragrance depends on few factors. To make your air freshener last longer you can adjust the formulation and usage strategy as follows: 1. Use a higher percentage of fragrance oil (e.g., 3-5%) to ensure a prolonged scent. 2. Use a combination of fast-evaporating top notes and slow-evaporating base notes. This creates a sustained fragrance profile over time. 3. Increasing Propylene glycol percentage slightly (e.g., to 3-5%) can improve longevity. 4. Adjust the HPMC/ CMC level to create a thicker gel or a slow-release matrix. 5. Store the air freshener in a container with a small opening or perforated lid to slow down evaporation. Hope that helps😊 Have a nice day 😍
Hi Thank you for watching and for your comments Yes, you can replace CMC with xanthan gum in your air freshener gel, but there are a few things to consider: 1. Xanthan gum creates a different gel texture compared to CMC. 2. Xanthan gum can sometimes affect the way fragrance is released, so you might need to adjust the concentration of fragrance for optimal scent diffusion. Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

Hi Friend, today I made a large batch with HPMC and followed the directions of this video and adjust the percentage for the batch. But today a small portion of the gel rose the top and it separated from the liquid . When I remove the top layer of Gel . I noticed another layer of gel on the bottom portion of the container. So there for top layer of gel and liquid in the middle. Do you have any suggestions or ideas why this is happening?? I made sure I added plenty of HPMC and also made sure it was mix properly.
@foreman4900 Hey there Welcome back It could be because of a few reasons. Are you using hot water to dissolve HPMC? Below is my reply from 3 days back where I explained the procedure for dissolving HPMC 1. Sprinkle HPMC powder gradually into the water (room temperature) while stirring continuously. 2. Stir with a whisk 3. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour. 4. Once HPMC is hydrated, gradually heat the solution to about 60-70°C (140-158°F) while stirring gently. This activates the HPMC and causes full hydration. 5. Continue stirring until you achieve a smooth, lump-free gel. 6. Once gel is fully formed then you can add remaining ingredients one by one stirring in between Generally HPMC forms a very stable gel. So please make sure to follow the waiting time and stir continuously while heating Hope the helps Have a nice day
Hi Glad you liked it. 😊 Thank you for watching For personal use recipe you can increase the quantity of gelatin to make it thicker For commercial formulation try replacing the thickener CMC with HEC ( Hydroxy Ethyl cellulose) or HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) in same quantity as CMC in video. Hope that helps 👍♥️ Have a nice day 🤩
Thank You! One more thing I’d like to ask is that in commercial version does the gel turns similar to what we get to see in branded gel fresheners like My Shaldan or Areon etc.
Hi Maximum it lasts for about 50 to 60 days. The gel reaches to bottom of the bottle and becomes thicker a bit. Over time, the gel still smells of perfume but it's dispersion to the surroundings become less. And this is also the case with commercial ones. I am not particularly sure about those brands though If you are looking forward to use it in cars then it won't last that long coz of harsher conditions. Please remember car freshener gels are formulated bit differently to work effectively in fluctuating temperatures and confined space. Hope that helps 👍 😊 Have a nice day 🤩
Hi mam, Can be use carbopol 940 instead of cmc. If it is OK, how to mix color, fragrance. Can I add some alcohol for fragrance diffusion. I want make commercially.
Hi We can easily use Carbopol 940 for making air freshener gel. But it will be totally different formulation. There are few things to consider 1. Carbopol forms a gel which is much thicker. Usually 0.2 to 0.5% of Carbopol is sufficient for a gel 2. Carbopol requires neutralisation. You will need to add Triethanolamine to raise the pH 3. Carbopol can be sensitive to high salt concentrations, which can reduce thickening 4. So overall you will need a completely new formulation If you want to replace CMC with some other chemical - HEC(Hydroxy ethyl cellulose) and HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) are better options. You can use exactly same formulation as shown in the video. Please remember HEC can be easily dissolve in cold water while HPMC needs hot water to dissolve. HPMC forms thicker gel compared to HEC Yes, you can use denatured alcohol (Ethanol) for fragrance diffusion. Amount of alcohol used should be 10 to 30% of your total formulation. Please remember adding alcohol may reduce the viscosity of gel. In case that happens, increase the amount of HEC or whichever thickener you decide to use Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
Thank you for watching and for your comments 💕 Try increasing percentage of CMC until final product reaches the required consistency. Hope that helps Have a nice day🤩
Hi Thank you for watching and for your comment. 🙏 If you are making for personal use, when gel becomes thicker oil won't really float on the top. If you are making for commercial purpose then 1. Use water-soluble fragrance. 2. Oil based fragrances do require an emulsifier to mix with water based products. 3. You can use polysorbate 20 as an emulsifier. Mix it with fragrance oils in 1:1 ratio before mixing fragrance oils to the gel. Hope that helps. 👍 All the best for your project. ☺️ Have a nice day 🤩
Thank you for watching and for your comments👍 In this video there are 2 different parts. 1st part is for house use. So only safety measure required is to check if gelatine not enough. 2nd part is for commercial purpose. In this temperature of mixing is very important for it's consistency. Hope it helps🤩
Thank you for watching. 💕 I never personally used agar agar gelatin for this so I am not sure about it but we can always give it a try. 👍 Hope it helps ♥️ Have a nice day🤩
Saw the full video. I intend to use it in car . Please let me know if the commercial purpose formula will last in hot conditions as well? Generally with gelatin it tends to become full liquid. Thank you
Thank you for watching and for your comments💕 I haven't tried using commercial formulation in car freshener personally. But it should work well as Carboxymethylcellulose is used in car freshener gel as well. Hope that helps😊 Best wishes for your project👍
Hello we are conducting a research and we decided to create a Citrus aurantifolia (lime) gel air freshener, how can we create a product made out of natural ingredients? we've tried it but the scent doesn't come out at all😭
Hi Good to know about your research. 🥰 Thank you for asking. ☺️ You can either use the first recipe which I showed in video or you can use following ingredients 1. Distilled Water: 90% 2. Agar Agar or Carrageenan Powder: 1-2% - A natural gelling agent 3. Essential Oil of Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime): 3-5% - For fragrance. You may adjust this amount depending on your desired scent strength. 4. Natural solubilizer, like Polysorbate 20 or Solubol. These ingredients help essential oils mix into water without separating. For a small batch, try adding 1 part Polysorbate 20 for every 1 part essential oil (a 1:1 ratio) and stir it well before adding to the gel. 5. Natural Preservative: Leucidal Liquid (made from radish root ferment) or Grapefruit Seed Extract. Use according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. Instructions 1. Heat the water to around 80-90°C (176-194°F). 2. Slowly sprinkle agar agar or carrageenan powder into the hot water, whisking continuously to dissolve fully. Keep stirring until the mixture is thickened and slightly gel-like. 3. Let the mixture cool slightly 4. Add citrus E.O to equal amount of polysorbate 20 in a separate container 4. Once the gel has cooled to around 40-50°C (104-122°F), add the lime essential oil and solubilizer mix and stir well. 5. Add preservative according to the usage rate. Hope that helps Please feel free to ask in case of any confusion All the best with your project 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
To avoid lumps 1. Never add water to CMC. Always add CMC to water. 2. Keep stirring water while adding CMC. 3. If some lumps still persist try using electric mixer and continue mixing until no lumps are left. 4. If it still gives problem please try using HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) in place of CMC Hope it helps😊 In case of any problem please feel free to ask All the best for your project👍
Hi! Thank you for watching and trying. Really glad you asked! 👍 1. If you're using the home-based recipe, the separation happens because oil and water don't naturally mix. To help, you can try making gel more thicker and stirring the gel gently before use. 2. If you are using commercial formulation, you can try adding an emulsifier, like Polysorbate 80 or liquid lecithin (in 1:1 ratio) , to the essential oil before mixing it into the gel. Hope that helps😊 Please let me know how it goes or if you have more questions! Have a nice day 😍
Hi Thank you for watching. 😊 I am glad you asked 🙏 Formulation for 100ml 90% distilled water 2% CMC Note: Please try using HEC (Hydroxy ethyl cellulose) or HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) as thickener coz many viewers find it difficult to dissolve CMC in water 0.5% Sodium benzoate 1.5% Propylene glycol 5% Fragrance 1% NaCl (common salt) Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
Hi mam. I need to know the colour which u use. And here what is the thickening agent bcz on video u sed CMC it got thickened soon in video itself. U suggested to use HPMC. I tried but I don't see it is thickening while I am working. How long we need to allow time for thickening mam.
Hi Thank you for asking ☺️ I used soap dye for colouring Yes I recommended replacing the thickener CMC with HEC ( Hydroxy Ethyl cellulose) or HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) in same quantity as CMC in video. ( Actually CMC quality I used is very different from the one commonly sold which I didn't realise while recording ) 1. HEC can be easily dissolved in cold water and you can see thickening within 10-20 minutes. 2. HPMC needs hot water to dissolve but forms harder gel. Once you dissolve it in water, keep aside for about 30 minutes and you will see very nice gel formed. 3. You can also increase the percentage of thickener to get desired consistency but as far as I know the percentage I gave in video is good enough. Please try again and let me know if you still face any problem. Will be glad to help. All the best for your project 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
@@diy.personalcare thank you so much for your response mam . I tried using HPMC in hot water as per the % suggested by u in the first comment . I set it aside for 48 hours still it is in liquid state !
Hi 1. Sodium benzoate works as preservative as also mentioned in the video 2. Propylene glycol works as solvent and helps in even distribution of the fragrance throughout the gel 3. Sodium chloride works as stabilizer and helps to keep the gel stable for a long period of time Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
Sodium Benzoate: helps to keep the air freshener gel fresh and safe to use for a longer time. It prevents the growth of bacteria and mold, which could spoil the gel. Propylene Glycol: helps to mix everything together nicely. It makes sure that the fragrance spreads evenly throughout the gel, so every part of freshener gel smells the same. Sodium Chloride (Salt): makes the gel stable, so it doesn't become watery over time. How that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
Thank you for watching and for your comments 💕🥰 May I know which type are you trying to make. 1. For the homemade recipe If it is staying in liquid form even after 2-3 hours that means you need to increase the quantity of gelatine and adjust it accordingly 2. For commercial formulation please change Carboxyl methyl cellulose(CMC) to Hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) and if you still face similar problem then increase the percentage of HPMC. Hope that helps 👍 ♥️ Have a nice day 🤩
Hi! There are only few reasons I can think for gelatin to not thicken over time 1. Gelatin is not fully dissolved 2. Overheating: Heat the gelatin mixture until it dissolves, but avoid prolonged boiling. Once the gelatin is dissolved, remove it from the heat. 3. Expired: If the gelatin is old or expired, it may have lost its effectiveness. 4. If nothing works, try keeping in the fridge for an hour Hope it helps 🤞 Best wishes for your project 👍♥️ Have a nice day 🤩
Thank you for watching and for your comments💕 All the ingredients used in commercial formulation are easily available on either Amazon or any other online Shopping App used in your country Please feel free to let me know if you are still unable to get it. Hope this helps. 👍 Have a nice day 🤩

Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments🥰💕 Here is the Commercial recipe: 1. Take 170ml distilled water Heat water to about 75°C 2. Add 4g carboxyl methyl cellulose (CMC) or Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) 3. Stir well until homogenous gel if formed 4. Add 0.3g Sodium Benzoate as preservative and stir well 5. Add 2 ml Propylene Glycol & stir well 6. Pour gel into bottles and add fragrance & colour 7. For commercial purpose, fragrance oil should be (10-15)% of gel volume or as directed by the fragrance supplier 8. At last add 1/2 tsp common salt in each bottle & stir Hope that helps👍 Please feel free to ask in case of any doubt 🙂 All the best for your project👍 Have a nice day🤩
@@eralevant4276 Thank you for watching and for your lovely comments 🥰 💕 Yes, we can mix salt after adding sodium benzoate. When we make for commercial purpose it's always better to mix all the ingredients in bigger container before we pour into the bottles. Hope that helps 👍 Have a nice day 🤩
@@diy.personalcare Hi Friend , I try a recipe but the gel from more solid on the surface, but still had a liquid state in the bottom portion. Any suggestions?? Also can one mix CMC & HPMC to from a more solid gel ?? I’m also trying different ingredients such as carrageenan and potassium chloride, calcium acetate, water , fragrance and preservative. @foreman4900 hey there Welcome again This is likely due to uneven hydration Actually later only I realised that the CMC was giving issues to lot of viewers. So I will recommend using only HPMC. Both can be mixed yes but it's a tricky process. Please try with HPMC first. Procedure 1. Sprinkle HPMC powder gradually into the water while stirring continuously. 2. Stir with a whisk 3. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour. 4. Gradually heat the solution to about 60-70°C (140-158°F) while stirring gently. Thank you for watching and for your comments 🥰💕 There can be few reasons for air freshener gel to become week in 4 days 1. Gel is still in liquid state. If that's the case please increase the percentage of CMC 2. Fragrance oil is not mixed properly so it remained on the top and evaporated quickly 3. Your fragrance oil percentage is less. Percentage of fragrance oil used should be at least 10%-15% of total gel weight 4. Fragrance oil used is going to expire soon so losing it's strength 5. Also please remember air Freshener gel always work better in confined areas like bathroom, car or closed rooms. Hope that helps. Please feel free to text in case of any doubt👍 Best wishes for your project ♥️ Have a nice day🤩

If you are looking forward to use it in cars then it won't last that long coz of harsher conditions. Please remember car freshener gels are formulated bit differently to work effectively in fluctuating temperatures and confined space. Hope that helps 👍 😊

Hi mam,
Can be use carbopol 940 instead of cmc. If it is OK, how to mix color, fragrance. Can I add some alcohol for fragrance diffusion. I want make commercially.
Hi
We can easily use Carbopol 940 for making air freshener gel. But it will be totally different formulation. There are few things to consider
1. Carbopol forms a gel which is much thicker. Usually 0.2 to 0.5% of Carbopol is sufficient for a gel
2. Carbopol requires neutralisation. You will need to add Triethanolamine to raise the pH
3. Carbopol can be sensitive to high salt concentrations, which can reduce thickening
4. So overall you will need a completely new formulation
If you want to replace CMC with some other chemical - HEC(Hydroxy ethyl cellulose) and HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) are better options. You can use exactly same formulation as shown in the video.
Please remember HEC can be easily dissolve in cold water while HPMC needs hot water to dissolve.
HPMC forms thicker gel compared to HEC
Yes, you can use denatured alcohol (Ethanol) for fragrance diffusion. Amount of alcohol used should be 10 to 30% of your total formulation.
Please remember adding alcohol may reduce the viscosity of gel. In case that happens, increase the amount of HEC or whichever thickener you decide to use
Hope that helps 👍

For commercial purpose, how can I make it harder like gelatine?
Thank you for watching and for your comments 💕
Try increasing percentage of CMC until final product reaches the required consistency.

Hello,
Essential oil & Fragrance oil will not mixed with water base product what to do. Pl.
Hi
Thank you for watching and for your comment. 🙏
If you are making for personal use, when gel becomes thicker oil won't really float on the top.
If you are making for commercial purpose then
All the best for your project. ☺️

I liked it. What safety measures is required when we make gel? Is it chemical used in this product
Thank you for watching and for your comments👍
In this video there are 2 different parts.
1st part is for house use. So only safety measure required is to check if gelatine not enough.
2nd part is for commercial purpose. In this temperature of mixing is very important for it's consistency.
Hope it helps🤩

I haven't tried using commercial formulation in car freshener personally. But it should work well as Carboxymethylcellulose is used in car freshener gel as well. Hope that helps😊

Hello we are conducting a research and we decided to create a Citrus aurantifolia (lime) gel air freshener, how can we create a product made out of natural ingredients? we've tried it but the scent doesn't come out at all😭
Hi
Good to know about your research. 🥰 Thank you for asking. ☺️
You can either use the first recipe which I showed in video or you can use following ingredients
1. Distilled Water: 90%
2. Agar Agar or Carrageenan Powder: 1-2% - A natural gelling agent
Instructions
1. Heat the water to around 80-90°C (176-194°F).
2. Slowly sprinkle agar agar or carrageenan powder into the hot water, whisking continuously to dissolve fully. Keep stirring until the mixture is thickened and slightly gel-like.
3. Let the mixture cool slightly
4. Add citrus E.O to equal amount of polysorbate 20 in a separate container
4. Once the gel has cooled to around 40-50°C (104-122°F), add the lime essential oil and solubilizer mix and stir well.
5. Add preservative according to the usage rate.
Hope that helps
Please feel free to ask in case of any confusion
All the best with your project 👍

Mam CMC is not getting dissolve in water there are many particles that are not dissolved
Lumps ban rahe hei
To avoid lumps
1. Never add water to CMC. Always add CMC to water.
2. Keep stirring water while adding CMC.
3. If some lumps still persist try using electric mixer and continue mixing until no lumps are left.
4. If it still gives problem please try using HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) in place of CMC
Hope it helps😊
In case of any problem please feel free to ask

Mix cmc with 5-10 times of glycerin then add under mixing
Mene bhi bnaya pr essential oil pani me melt nhi huva upper a gya sara aur nicha gel niche jam gya
Hi!
Thank you for watching and trying. Really glad you asked! 👍
Hope that helps😊
Please let me know how it goes or if you have more questions!

Hi mam . Can you provide the % amount of each products like for 100 ml of distilled water how much % cmc , sodium and kther chemical we need to use.
Hi
Thank you for watching. 😊 I am glad you asked 🙏
Formulation for 100ml
90% distilled water
2% CMC
Note: Please try using HEC (Hydroxy ethyl cellulose) or HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) as thickener coz many viewers find it difficult to dissolve CMC in water
0.5% Sodium benzoate
1.5% Propylene glycol
5% Fragrance
1% NaCl (common salt)
Hope that helps 👍

@@diy.personalcare thank you so much 🥰
Hi mam. I need to know the colour which u use. And here what is the thickening agent bcz on video u sed CMC it got thickened soon in video itself. U suggested to use HPMC. I tried but I don't see it is thickening while I am working. How long we need to allow time for thickening mam.
Hi
Thank you for asking ☺️
I used soap dye for colouring
Yes I recommended replacing the thickener CMC with HEC ( Hydroxy Ethyl cellulose) or HPMC (Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose) in same quantity as CMC in video. ( Actually CMC quality I used is very different from the one commonly sold which I didn't realise while recording )
All the best for your project 👍

@@diy.personalcare thank you so much for your response mam . I tried using HPMC in hot water as per the % suggested by u in the first comment . I set it aside for 48 hours still it is in liquid state !
Excuse me can u tell me what sodium benzoate, propylene glycol, sodium chloride for?
Hi
1. Sodium benzoate works as preservative as also mentioned in the video
2. Propylene glycol works as solvent and helps in even distribution of the fragrance throughout the gel
3. Sodium chloride works as stabilizer and helps to keep the gel stable for a long period of time
Hope that helps 👍
Have a nice day 🤩
@@diy.personalcare can you tell me more about them?
Sodium Benzoate: helps to keep the air freshener gel fresh and safe to use for a longer time. It prevents the growth of bacteria and mold, which could spoil the gel.
Propylene Glycol: helps to mix everything together nicely. It makes sure that the fragrance spreads evenly throughout the gel, so every part of freshener gel smells the same.
Sodium Chloride (Salt): makes the gel stable, so it doesn't become watery over time.
How that helps 👍

My fresher stays liquid form whenever I try where is the fault
Thank you for watching and for your comments 💕🥰
May I know which type are you trying to make.
1. For the homemade recipe If it is staying in liquid form even after 2-3 hours that means you need to increase the quantity of gelatine and adjust it accordingly
2. For commercial formulation please change Carboxyl methyl cellulose(CMC) to Hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) and if you still face similar problem then increase the percentage of HPMC.
Hope that helps 👍 ♥️
Have a nice day 🤩
@@diy.personalcare I tried to increase the amount of gelatin by doubling it still it's not working
Hi!
There are only few reasons I can think for gelatin to not thicken over time
1. Gelatin is not fully dissolved
2. Overheating: Heat the gelatin mixture until it dissolves, but avoid prolonged boiling. Once the gelatin is dissolved, remove it from the heat.
3. Expired: If the gelatin is old or expired, it may have lost its effectiveness.
4. If nothing works, try keeping in the fridge for an hour
Hope it helps 🤞

Hi Friend , I try a recipe but the gel from more solid on the surface, but still had a liquid state in the bottom portion. Any suggestions?? Also can one mix CMC & HPMC to from a more solid gel ??
I’m also trying different ingredients such as carrageenan and potassium chloride, calcium acetate, water , fragrance and preservative. Would be a good mixture??
@foreman4900
hey there
Welcome again
This is likely due to uneven hydration
Actually later only I realised that the CMC was giving issues to lot of viewers. So I will recommend using only HPMC. Both can be mixed yes but it's a tricky process.
Please try with HPMC first.
Procedure
1. Sprinkle HPMC powder gradually into the water while stirring continuously.
2. Stir with a whisk
3. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to an hour.
4. Gradually heat the solution to about 60-70°C (140-158°F) while stirring gently. This activates the HPMC and causes full hydration.
5. Continue stirring until you achieve a smooth, lump-free gel.
Hope that helps😊

HI Mam, How to make commercial air freshener to keep smelling for 30 days and more. The freshener is getting weak after 4 days.
Thank you for watching and for your comments 🥰💕
There can be few reasons for air freshener gel to become week in 4 days
1. Gel is still in liquid state. If that's the case please increase the percentage of CMC
2. Fragrance oil is not mixed properly so it remained on the top and evaporated quickly
3. Your fragrance oil percentage is less. Percentage of fragrance oil used should be at least 10%-15% of total gel weight
4. Fragrance oil used is going to expire soon so losing it's strength
5. Also please remember air Freshener gel always work better in confined areas like bathroom, car or closed rooms.
Hope that helps. Please feel free to text in case of any doubt👍
