      @@gracemunich1476 They did show empathy though. They gave them a full refund and even offered them 500 dollars (if I'm remembering right) credit on their next food order. They could have just not returned anything and been jerks about it but they didn't. I agree they should have called but maybe the person who was driving didn't tell them about it right away since they said they came back and got back to the restaurant around 5...still should have called right at 5 to let them know, that they would be late and to inform them of what was going on but they had empathy.

      That was my first thought. Other than being unprofessional, it’s just plain common sense; if there’s a job to be done and an individual is unsure of something, there should be a line of communication to ask. That’s like traveling to Europe for vacation and because there’s an issue with locating the hotel🏢, the party leave and come back to the states. 🛩✈️CRAZY 🥴and UNACCEPTABLE❌🚫!!
      Glad the beautiful couple was able to overcome this disaster. They were too cute!!🥰❤️

      I believe it 100 percent. They forgot! And because their wasn’t a contract they really forgot. Because the amount of money spent in advance and amount of time prepping, cooking, and presenting that food. Catering companies have to recoup the rest of their funds and profits. The down payment/deposit only pays for the food supplies itself but it does not pay for the cooks time and effort preparing the food. they get the rest after they deliver.

      It sounded like a bunch of excuses. They all should have agreed on a specific time that the caterer should arrive at the venue with the food. Since the venue is an hour away, the caterer should've left at least two hours in advance. Why didn't they contact the plaintiffs immediately when their car broke down? Probably because it was an excuse. They didn't have any food prepared that they could bring, or the caterer just didn't wanna do it.

    I remember 26 years ago waking up with strep throat on my wedding day... in the middle of July, 98 deg... and the venue's AC went out that morning. They had recently finished a renovation. We had the ceremony downstairs and the reception upstairs with huge fans blowing everywhere. Their elevator also wasn't working... my matron of honor has MS and was wheelchair dependent. We had to leave her chair downstairs, and have her carried around upstairs, fortifying a chair from the venue's lobby with table dressings so she could sit somewhat comfortably. She insisted in not missing the reception. Fortunately, everything else that day went fine... the guests were amazing making the best of it all. And the venue did credit the facility rental fee and discounted the catering right off the bat. It was a tricky day to get through for me, but it's a great story to tell!

    I don’t think the caterers were heartless but they were thoughtless in the moment. The catering director should’ve called the owners, who in turn should have gotten in their cars right away and completed the delivery. Had they called the wedding planner/maid-of-honor/best man (whoever was their contact person) I’m POSITIVE they would have snuck off to pick up the food OR arranged for someone to go pick it up for them. Even if she (Director) left “late” at 3:00, there was plenty time to get there before six. Smh.

    • @thatvalensteingirl
      @thatvalensteingirl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The catering director *should* have made those calls, but we don't know if they ever did.
      If they didn't, the owners had no reason not to think things were going smoothly until their director showed back up with a carload of food.

    The defendants should have been made to pay for the extra $500 for the chicken and sides too. I truly believe they forgot about their wedding and blamed the lady who was supposed to deliver. Plus, if her vehicle broke down with all of the food, she should have had enough sense to call for transport to deliver. What happened to the food? They are lying. REALLY? They suck!

    They should have gotten their wedding paid for completely because of the pain and suffering. Especially because of the lame excuse as to why no one showed up at all! To make a bride cry on her wedding day and be left with no food that the groom has to go pout and get food and pay for it out of pocket? She should have included pain and suffering and given the plaintiff at least $5,000

  • @TANATOR02
    @TANATOR02 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am late to the party but I agree totally with other comments here, they did not prepare the food at all. They probably forgot because there was no written contract.
    Hints that they forgot:
    - the restaurant owner did not blame her organizer at all (I would blame her if it would cost me 2000 bugs and she was the one who had to deliver the food)
    - she said they were late (so there was a time schedule they just forgot)
    - what happened with the food then? Surely they had to throw out or use the food
    in some way if it really was prepared (no word about that at all)
    - they did not call the bride and groom (did not answer that also)
    - and the poor explanation "we did not know when the food should have been served" bs, because you have know it for the cooling chain. It's bs, so unprofessional
    I loved the guests and family though! So glad they all went out their way to help the bride and groom on their day

  • @randys6220
    @randys6220 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Likely no one called because there was no food prepared and they didn't have the courage to tell the truth to the wedding party with "Oops, we are very sorry, WE FORGOT". There is no way a "Catering Director" that those 2 defendants described as having, "Won awards in the past, she's fantastic!!", would not have known what to do and would have simply let all that food go to waste. Both an Uber & Lyft XL size vehicles could have been ordered at the same time thru fast downloadable cell phone apps. It only becomes an impossible task when there was no food prepared in the first place.

    My uncle has a restaurant. I worked there when I was young. When people asked about catering. As an employee there. We had to know the Date, time and what they needed. Because we need to order the meat and vegetables separately just for that order. We needed to know the Date obviously to see if we can on that date and call in more employees to help with that order. The time so we can leave and get there 15 minutes ahead of time. Because we don't know how bad traffic will be that day.
