Actually, the LL has 30 days after tenants leave to give them a certified letter explaining what was taken out of the deposit, and month to month, the tenants can leave within 30 days of notice to move out.

I was in the middle of a divorce and was too stressed to deal with a cheating landlord too. The second time the landlord kept ALL of my security deposit and I took them to court. I won! They lied at the court hearing saying there was all kinds of damage and I had kept very careful documentation that included dated move out pictures. I don’t care how nice you think your landlords is. In NC 90% of the time they are crooks. Document and take pictures! (And a warning: DON’T rent in N.C.!).

They left disgusting furniture and mail that was addressed to other people , and clothes. Not to mention, they never mowed the grass. We had been renters a couple of times and always left the houses better than they were when we moved in. I would never want to be a landlord again!

I love and admire this lady judge. She is smart and quick thinking. She is very articulate and she is very beautiful too. She is a classy LADY!
She has her times 😂 but she does do the “motherly thing “more than I’ve seen a judge do it😂

That right there tells you that they're telling the truth about the date.
The landlord is selfish and full of nothing but excuses. Even if the tenants gave 60-day notice I still think he would have given plenty of excuses as to why he didn't want to give the deposit back. And lastly to think he could have saved some money just by giving the deposit back based on the type of person the tenant was and that he had no issues. Just selfish

Omg as a Landlord I hope people do not tent from this Landlord. He is shifty as hell. Yeah he helps people out by renting them section 8 apartments in some of the worse neighborhoods

I don't think the landlord can go more than 30 seconds without lying. Meanwhile he spends the other 30 seconds bragging about what a great guy he is.

I hope they did a walk through before moving out to see what was wear and tear and what was damage to the property. Some Slumlords will milk the system and cheat the tenants out of their deposit. Always do a walkthrough and discuss the property damage and get a certified list from the LL and get it within 30 days of moving out.
