I have a question, in the video and in the book there is emphasis on achieving adult to adult transaction. But in the book, Brene writes that it is natural to have a parent to child transaction since every individual has the 3 ego states in them. My question is, when does parent to child transaction become toxic or unhealthy and when is it considered normal? Is it normal to arise in a conflict every once in a while or should we seek to eliminate it at all times?
I like your presentation style. I also find TA very helpful when reflecting on relationship interactions. I do find the background music very uncomfortable, repetitive and distracting however! I do hope this will be taken as constructive criticism!
In a customer service environment, myself trying to diffuse a confrontation, the goal be to read the customers and my ego states. From that point, would my goal be to respond in a fashion to arrive at a cross transaction then a complimentary transaction, and then ultimately arriving at a compromising adult ego state?
Great video Donna! Thanks you! I was daunted and incredibly distracted by the background music which had little to no connection to your very interesting delivery .
In fact I find your videos are so informative and your style of teaching is magnificent.
