As someone who grew up with the clone wars and still loves it. This is one of the best videos I ever seen. It can be difficult explaining to non star wars/clone wars fans why I like a “kids show” but you explain it so well.
personal anecdote incoming : I literally grew up with this show (along with lots of other people). I remember being a kid and being so scared for r2 when he got abducted and replaced by goldie, I remember seeing kit fistos apprentice being killed and how crazy it felt to see a Jedi be killed by grievous. My parents at the time were in the middle of separating and each episode of this show was my escape. Obiwan, Anakin, Ashoka and Rex were my closest friends during that time. I remember asking my mom if I could buy a cheap lightsaber to practice my reverse grip like Ashoka. I owe this show so much. It raised me in some ways and helped me see life as less black and white and with more nuance. I cried so much during the series finale. These characters felt so real to me and a part of me was mourning a part of myself that I had suppressed for a while. I cant say enough about this show tbh, we could all go on all day but we can all agree just how much of an impact this show has had on everyone’s lives and how truly thankful we all are for this show.

Excellent video covering my all time favorite series! Honestly, as much as I’m grateful that we got a seventh season, I would’ve taken the full seasons 6-8 over all of the shows that we’ve gotten so far on Disney + as the unfinished arcs were going to be absolutely fantastic! Clone wars is one of my favorite pieces of Star Wars storytelling right next to the original trilogy. The film came out on my birthday and it was such an experience growing up with this show.
One thing to say about the series revival is that now there is the belief that other canceled shows can be revived, too. Samurai Jack in 2017, Young Justice getting more seasons, Clone Wars, and just recently the X-Men series from the 90s getting a sequel series. I don't know if this is because they're banking off nostalgia, the creators wanting a chance to finish their projects, or both.

I absolutely love the movie to this day and s1 and 2 old a special place watching them so many times on Cartoon Network with all those ads the show had and the breaks in between commercials. And how it continued to build everything up in the later seasons was done so well. What a time to be a kid
You did insanely well summarizing this masterpiece whilst taking so many different aspects into consideration. Those 3 hours enabled me to really remember what growing Up with this series felt Like. I think what enabled me as a dopamine addict to watch straight Up 3 hours of this was really how you had this clear structure, great Story telling, high quality interpretations whilst and this is especially important for me really capturing the Feelings, the emotions connected to each Episode/ Arc. I was born in 2009, therefore I watched Clone wars in a very Young age and I can still remember that i felt so many strong emotions whilst watching Clone wars but I couldn't underestand what made me feel this way. This Work of Art finally gave me the opportunity to fully understand and feel nostalgia. Thanks for this❤
I was born in 2008, so the show has been around my entire life. My dad (as many other dads lol) was a die hard star wars fan, he was born in 1972 and he grew up watching the original movies. So when the prequels and Clone Wars came out, he was totally invested. The Clone Wars was probably the first show I ever watched. I remember being five years old and watching the new episodes that were coming out, and watching back the old seasons on DVD every single weekend. I didn't even watch the original movies before watching the series, but it totally won little me over. I was continuously invested until I think season 6, which we couldn't get on DVD and it wasn't aired anymore when I wanted to watch it (in like 2017/18), so I lost interest, and season 7 came about much later. I knew s7 existed, I think I watched the episode where Ashoka returns online, but never the rest, I only saw some snipbits of Ashoka fighting on Mandalore and escaping with some clones. I watched other Star Wars shows briefly, like rebels, but I never got as invested as in TCW. Just looking back is extremely comforting, mostly because of nostalgia I think, but having positive nostalgia about a show is enough for me to still like it. It also is probably the reason why I'm still such a big history nerd, especially WW2. My current favourite show is Band of Brothers, which unlike Star Wars is a true story, but also follows a single company of soldiers, rather than the heads of the countries that are involved in war. A Bridge too far and Saving Private Ryan are also very close to being my favorite shows, and maybe TCW is even the reason I'm a history major now, who knows.
Just got around to watching this video and you nailed everything spot on! Amazing watch. When I was a child around 5/6 I my dad was desperate for me to watch star wars as he watched a new hope in it's theatrical release and I couldn't get into it but then I watched the clone wars, every year I would get the dvds off my nana and grandma who are no longer with us for Christmas up until season 6. This show was the main reason I got into star wars and I am now 21 with an unhealthy addiction to Lego star wars and funkos, it's lovely to hear about other people's stories about this show that have similar stories to me or ones that are so different. Star wars always has a special place in my heart and fond memories of my childhood. It makes me try and see the best out of all things modern star wars because I know if this show came out today, it would have been canceled at the movie or season 1 which would have meant we would never have this classic of a TV show!
So glad i was able to watch season 7 before watching rebels. Siege of mandalore was such a spectacle and with me having no clue about alot of the new media coming it made it so much more heart wrenching
Clone Wars as a kid reminded me that Anakin was also too not invincible like how I thought he was prior. We see Anakin fail nearly even die and get captured on many occasions needing to be saved by others like Ahsoka or even Padme...It builds on just why Anakin cares about Padme and how realistically he would fear her dying so much in episode 3.
The thing that I will always remember about The Clone Wars is how even though I knew exactly what was going to happen with Anakin at the end, somehow this show at times during those last couple episodes, actually had me thinking "Is it gonna be different this time". Maybe it was just me, but I thought that was pretty good writing.
What a beautiful video. I followed every Friday the premiere of every chapter of the clone wars ( I was 18 when the first season aired) and represent a significant part of my life. Awesome work in the production of this video
Hear me out: Comically evil villains are needed for Season 1 so the subtle reveal of nuance throughout the season has greater effect. The villain losing each episode is fitting for Star Wars taking after old serials The Pantoran episode is very well done. Peace is won *because* the genocidal colonialist is removed from power. Anakin's change from AotC to TCW makes perfect sense. Once he was knighted and felt respected, he was able to mature
Hey gold man! Long time no comment! I’ve been in a bit of a lull in my Star Wars fandom recently but these videos got me watching the clone wars again and it’s so nostalgic. They’ve done a great job giving a retrospective about this incredible show that clearly has meant so much to our generation of Star Wars fans
As someone who doesn't like the sequels, I think an animated show centred on them would be a good idea, though I think it should be set before the trilogy, not after. I know there's books and stuff that goes into it, but the actual movies really suffer from a lack of context
Nobody would watch that. Just like the other bajillion shows that they make en masse nowadays. Clone Wars was different in that there were no such projects like that before.
@@rakzparkingu2353except that beside the acolyte (which still got decent if lower numbers) everything Disney has released on D+ has done perfectly good ratings wise and the moment you leave the fan echo chamber you realize the average more casual fan does actually like Finn Rey and Poe Doing a animated show based on the First Order Resistance war or in general more media expanding that era is a good idea lol
@@SkyTreeStudio”perfectly good” is a bit of a stretch when they’ve gone down in viewership each show since boba fett. If people love the characters so much then then the trilogy wouldn’t have lost money each film. Just speaking from statistics
@@SkyTreeStudio you sure about that?💀💀 TFA was the most profitable at 2 billion. tLJ less so at 1.3 billion and rise of skywalker less than that at just over a billion. Speaking from statistics
I was born 2yrs after the Clone Wars came out, finally getting around to watching it now. I'm only on season 2 and it's awesome (last one I watched was where Rex encounters a clone deserter) I know what happens in the end, but I'm still compelled to watch it for how good it is (even in the episodes where it was still more light-hearted than anything.)
Tales of the Jedi and Empire are a bit annoying being short stories like that, but the stories told in them are so good, so I can excuse the 0 attention span gen alpha format
Still it would had been better to replace that arc with crystal crisis because it gives more development for Obi Wan, Anakin and Grevious + Anakin's emotions after Ashoka left the order. Martez sisters could just had been introduced in Bad Batch instead.
I barely watched this series in 2025 and I always considered myself a Star Wars fan but didn’t realize that I was missing out until I watched this series. I am all for watching more animation series. Just ❤the break downs.
The Trace and Rafa arc was not sexy, but it was good for the street-level character development. We get to see the regular people affected by the space wizards and politicians. It is why Andor is so good.
As someone who hadn’t grown up with the Clone Wars, who was just a little too young, but I watched it on YT before the copyright stuff got truly harsh and I loved the show for a few reasons: it was honest, it usually took itself seriously and it was absolutely BRUTAL for my 9 year old mind
Hi Gold Man! I love your videos (and Star Wars, obviously) so much and I really want to see you make this type of video series, but this time about the Bad Batch. There is so much to unpack in this show, and I really feel it's kind of underappreciated within the fandom, which is sad. P.S. A similar video series about Andor before the second season releases could also be amazing!! I love this show, it's my all-time favourite!
I was 26 when The Clone Wars started, but I very quickly fell in love with the series even as an adult. To this day I consider it my favourite TV show of all time (ok, together with Battlestar Galactica, Lost and Andor). And I agree that Siege of Mandalore would the best Star Wars movie. It’s so good I still can’t believe it.
Me and my partner are watching all of the films in order and we are on TCW show because it wouldn’t be Star Wars without it, and they love it I can only imagine what it’s like to watch it thru the first time AND have the seventh season, and they are heavily avoiding spoilers.
wow what an incredible video. I absolutely loved your commentary on the second arc of the seventh season with the sisters. Seeing Ahsoka actually interact with young women her age is so impactful
During the discussion of Season 1, you talk about the transition from Episode 2 Anakin to the Clone Wars Anakin. I can recommend the book Brotherhood. It takes place right before the beginning of the Clone Wars film :)
What does the clones wars mean to me? Literally everything. What does it hold for the future of the franchise? The key to success. This show was quite literally the first star wars i ever watched. Back before Disney+, i would do anything to get just one more episode to watch, to find it somewhere i could access. I remember vividly where i was when it was brought back, and i will never forget watching the siege of mandalore for the first time. To me, the clone wars is what star wars is meant to be
Amazing video and thorough analysis. Love going back and watching arcs of the Clone Wars. Siege of Umbara is a favorite of mine and ofc the Siege of Mandalore is a great arc that looks absolutely beautiful. I have gotten friends addicted to the Clone Wars show but tell them to stick passed S1 because it is the worst and to skip the R2 lost arc if they are having a really tough time with it
U did forget to mention how when Anakin taps in the dark side the imperial march plays which one good theme for a dark side user 2nd its also very good foreshadowing
Ok, so I’m on the younger side, as of today I’m only 14, however, I love the clone wars, and I have loved the series for most of my life, hell, I only recently started to grow my hair out because I used to only do buzz cuts like some of the clones, and I was excited like many others when the 7th season came out and I loved it, and as I got older and matured and rewatch the series I grow to appreciate it more and more, like Umbara, I used to love it because it was action packed and that was it, but now I love it for yes the action, but how the clones are portrayed, they aren’t just clones, they’re people, they’re not droids, they’re not lab rats, they’re their own independent characters. So I agree with your statement that the clone wars will only get better and better, as younger generations such as myself will grow and see the messages the series conveys, and we will only learn to love the series more, this series has, a place in my heart and will always have one, and although as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten even more questions, like a lot of problems could be fixed with the force, like when Ahsoka lost her saber, why didn’t she use the force to force pull the saber back to her when she had a clear line of sight of it, or why don’t the Jedi just crush Grevious with the force, etc, etc. but other than that I love the series and will definitely continue to watch, share, and enjoy it
Shadow Warrior was produced before the Mon Cala arc in Season 4, also with the intention of it taking place before the Mon Cala arc. But it was pushed back to have a more action-packed opener in Water War. I think they also added something that makes it take place explicitly after the Mon Cala arc, but I don't know what that was and I don't really remember something along those lines. I still consider Shadow Warrior to take place before the Mon Cala arc in my headcanon.
If i was in charge of s7 and 8 production, this how i would have done it Start 7 with bad batch like the orginal, exciting episode to draw us back into the series. 2. Ahsoka walkabout 3. Crystal crisis 2 explain utapau 4. Bounty hunters, last time we see boba until in the empire. 5. Dark deciple (pt1) 6. Son of dathomir great end to the season 17-18 episode season. Rate it 7.9/10 Season 8 a slow but interesting start with 1. Kashyyk, to explain yoda relation with wookiee 2. R2 & rex top gun fun episode 3. moncala pt 2, xplain the plot of removing palps from office 4. Yuuthan vong, story picks up 5. Dark deciple pt2 ending ventress story until bad batch. 6. And finish it off with siege of Mandalore 19 episode send off, rate 7.79/10 xplains almost everything going into ROTS, Rebels, and into the empire trilogy. Give me your thoughts and opinions about this if this works
Hi The Gold Man, what a great job you have done with all 7 of your Star Wars The Clone Wars deep dives. Would you ever consider doing a The Bad Batch Season 1 to 4 video like you did with the Clone Wars? Keep up the good content 👍
@56:24 Bro thanks for pointing the Hut and Zero arc out. Because I watched this show like 8-9 times from 2016 to 2024 and it's only in late 2023 early 2024 that I've only come to understand it's a back and forth through time because my guy @StupendousWave been explaining the lore so well. So I get it when you say your friend was confused about it. Because as much as I been watching this show I never got it.
For me i feel like the sort of spiritual ending to the clone wars was Gregor's death in rebels, a clone who died not because he was forced to or because he was programed to, but because he chose to. The sort of culmination of the clones growth. It was enough to make a grown man cry.
Have you heard of Skywalker Stories? He creates animations between Star Wars characters just expressing their feelings, views in the force, and life in general. I feel it would be right up your alley as you’ve said you love in Star Wars when it’s just characters expressing their feelings to one another and that’s his main thing with excellent dialogue and philosophical messages in there as well.
2:21:55 this is such an interesting point because I personally took it as the jedi’s continued fall from grace and not being able to see a way different from the war that shaped them but there’s also a super interesting story to be told if they did to something about it. Like what if they tried to have the jedi stay away from their troopers? They could have shown further dehumanization from the people the clones have to trust as well as furthering anakin’s mistrust of the council by taking away his only non-evil friends. Or they could have sent someone to investigate more while trying to keep it secret and giving a new or old character a spot in the spot light? The clone wars was my entire childhood and I’m usually unable to take criticism of it so thank you for your pov!
1:06:41 an idea I think should have been implemented better is how the Republic is technically winning when it comes to combat, but ideologically the Separatist cause keeps getting stronger as more and more systems leave the Republic. That would’ve been a more interesting way of both showing us our heroes winning and also keeping it so the war is still messy for the Republic, I think
I always interpreted the stagnant feeling of the war as intentional. It doesn’t feel like the conflict is going anywhere because palpatine is orchestrating the whole thing and he doesn’t want it to go anywhere until he has more time to consolidate power
im 100% with you on season 6 on how the clone wars series makes the jedi look, you would think they would do some kind of investigation on their own in secret or maybe they were but by the time of episode 3 it was too late kind of thing. but still i thought they didn't handle that well. a rare moment for the clones to suddenly kill a jedi and the council was like "oh well, i hope that doesn't ever happen again"
Gave the whole series a very good breakdown. 8 Quality videos on many of our favourite era of star wars. It's a gold mine for content, and here we all are lapping it up 😅
The way TCW and Revenge of the Sith handle Grievous is so infuriating - they turned someone that was a tragic vengeful warrior turned hateful Terminator with lightsabers in various EU/Legends material into a one dimensional moustache-twirling villain.
It’s funny cause as a kid I found the shower to be better in the earlier seasons but as you mature you realize how fantastic the later seasons really were.
Ahsoka leaving the order was a brilliant plot point even if there were cavern-size plot holes. I just wish Ahsoka had "scolded" the council a bit more because there are things they need to know about themselves and their great arrogance. I also wish we had gotten Rex and the other Clones' reaction about her framing and refusing to leave the order. I also wish Ahsoka and Rex stayed together since each drifted a bit after the way. They were much more dynamic together.
thanks for the full compilation can't wait to rewatch them and hope you do something for the bad batch when your ready. for once I'm early so I wanted ask what do people think of the bad batch, tales (stuff) and other animated things that follow the clone wars? and also here are my own thoughts and ramblings (warning possible spoiler below) - this has made me want to rewatch clone wars now, but also want to get the lego game out had it on the Wii and DS great game played a lot. love the battle system played it with my brother a lot we banned that one super tank and try and split the map in half one of those weird understandings we had. just like the big battle. but my favourite episode/archs tended to be about the clones. love the animation style I haven't seen anything else like it or use it. - for me bad batch was good overall but the animation was great some of my favorite parts are those one shot fight scenes like in their season 7 arch. I'm also surprised that they let the dead die but am annoyed at some story bits and unfinished things think they left things open for other shows like a rex rebel clone show thing. but I think bad batch being stuck with only 3 season it did good (HATE the 3 season rule). I think some of the most memorable episode where about crosshair like the one with Cody or mayday. - rebels got to watch properly (haven't finished it and out of order) but don't hate it from what I remember/seen wish the clone stuff was a bit different. - haven't watched tales. (note it's late for me so respond will might be slow or confusing)
I completely agree about a animated Sequel series. I'm kind of tired of the franchise always going back to the Clone Wars. Some are great and I enjoy them but I think it's time to move on. A post sequel anthology series would be a great way to reinvent those characters and stories. Many people probably thought a show about the prequel era would've bombed and look how well that turned out. I would prefer more Star Wars animate projects than another live action movie. Just imagine seeing Rey trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, Finn possibly joining her, Poe trying to live in a galaxy that's bit in a war. The new threats that can arise. The idea is filled potential.
16:45 thats the whole reason the separatists lost the war, the whole movement was flawed, and eventually doomed, by its greedy military and political leaders who often put personal gain and lust for power over the very confederation they were (suposedly) fighting for. Of course it all played right into palpatine's hands, and that was his plan from the begining, but no one but him knew this. The CIS lost the war because of its poor, greedy, incompetent, manipulated, inconsistent, overly power-hungry, and somewhat evil, and more greedy, both political and military leadership. So, whether that was the intention or not in season 1, its actually portrayed pretty well. A little goofy but well.
Isn't there expanded material on general grievous? How he would train with Duku, who would humiliate him at every turn he could. Teaching Grievous the Jedi ways so he could exploit them. Teasing they'd make him a Sith but never do. I'm sure Duku taught him to fight erratically to counter the guiding aspect of the force. Then to make sure Grievous doesn't get that leg up either the Emperor or Duku zap him and fuck up his respirator permanently like Vader. Like yeah, in the movie and show hes kinda just Proto Vader without the force. But all his behind th scenes lore is really interesting.
I’m actually not opposed to a Rey-themed anthology series in the style of Clone Wars. Probably the biggest thing I’d want them to do, that you implied with your list of things they should do, is TELL US HOW THE EVENTS IN THAT ERA IMPACT THE REST OF THE GALAXY. That was one of my bigger complaints with the sequel trilogy was how isolated it felt; as flawed as the prequels were at least they made the galaxy feel legitimate and lived in. I would absolutely love to see the same treatment given to that era, and maybe some long overdue retribution by incorporating prequel elements into that era. I personally feel like that could work
I‘d recommend you reading the novels for Ep 1-6 if you‘re into novelization it gives you much more details and maybe helps you appreciate the movies more
You once said that the problem with Disney Star Wars was that it had very little romance. In my opinion, it is not that or the 'woke' stuff people complain about, but that Disney is not willing to truly commit to something if it doesn't seem profitable or faces backlash. Lucas got a lot of heat for the prequels and the special editions, but he continued to create content around that era instead of reeling back into the original trilogy era. He put passion over profit and didn't let massive backlash keep him or those under his employ make what they wanted. Disney let the backlash from the Last Jedi change the direction for its sequel by bringing back an old character. They have yet to make a series or games around that era like Lucas did the prequels because they fear it wouldn't be profitable. They rely heavily on prequel and original trilogy era content and have made some forget the existence of the sequels and not give it a chance to grow. Despite how bad the Acolyte turned out, Disney quickly gave up on it, basically making other writers and directors and actors have doubts about working on a project if it is that easy to pull the plug. In short, Disney needs more backbone and to commit to something instead of giving up when things are rough. If Lucas had been like that, the prequels would still be incredibly hated to this day.

A Bridge too far and Saving Private Ryan are also very close to being my favorite shows, and maybe TCW is even the reason I'm a history major now, who knows.
Oops Saving Private Ryan and A Bridge Too Far aren't shows😂
such a cool story. I hope to have a relationship like that with my own kid one day. Thanks!
I will be pulling a nine hour over night shift tonight this will be on for a third of it
Just got around to watching this video and you nailed everything spot on!
Oh hell yeah. I was gonna make a playlist of all the videos. This is even better
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hear me out:
Comically evil villains are needed for Season 1 so the subtle reveal of nuance throughout the season has greater effect.
The villain losing each episode is fitting for Star Wars taking after old serials
The Pantoran episode is very well done. Peace is won *because* the genocidal colonialist is removed from power.
Anakin's change from AotC to TCW makes perfect sense. Once he was knighted and felt respected, he was able to mature
Just finished watching the video and it was great ❤ thanks gold man
Thank you for watching! It means so much
@thegoldman25 kid 🤡 rey worst character ever she mary sue you have been debunked
Im keeping that click speed
Hey gold man! Long time no comment! I’ve been in a bit of a lull in my Star Wars fandom recently but these videos got me watching the clone wars again and it’s so nostalgic. They’ve done a great job giving a retrospective about this incredible show that clearly has meant so much to our generation of Star Wars fans
Great to see you back!
Never clicked a TH-cam notification faster, it’s 1am and ima watch this whole thing!!!
@@rakzparkingu2353except that beside the acolyte (which still got decent if lower numbers) everything Disney has released on D+ has done perfectly good ratings wise and the moment you leave the fan echo chamber you realize the average more casual fan does actually like Finn Rey and Poe
Doing a animated show based on the First Order Resistance war or in general more media expanding that era is a good idea lol
@@SkyTreeStudio”perfectly good” is a bit of a stretch when they’ve gone down in viewership each show since boba fett. If people love the characters so much then then the trilogy wouldn’t have lost money each film. Just speaking from statistics
@ the sequels did not lost money lol
@@SkyTreeStudio you sure about that?💀💀 TFA was the most profitable at 2 billion. tLJ less so at 1.3 billion and rise of skywalker less than that at just over a billion. Speaking from statistics
I was born 2yrs after the Clone Wars came out, finally getting around to watching it now. I'm only on season 2 and it's awesome (last one I watched was where Rex encounters a clone deserter)
I know what happens in the end, but I'm still compelled to watch it for how good it is (even in the episodes where it was still more light-hearted than anything.)
Tales of the Jedi and Empire are a bit annoying being short stories like that, but the stories told in them are so good, so I can excuse the 0 attention span gen alpha format
I mean, I'd argue that it's closer to the original microseries
The Martez sisters were important to show how hated the Jedi were by the public. And of course, they help Rex reconnect with the Bad Batch later on.
Still it would had been better to replace that arc with crystal crisis because it gives more development for Obi Wan, Anakin and Grevious + Anakin's emotions after Ashoka left the order. Martez sisters could just had been introduced in Bad Batch instead.
Never clicked that fast, thank you for this it was a great walk through my childhood! I’ll definitely be sticking around to watch your future videos!
Thank you!
Sideous showing up. Murking Savage and leaving Maul broken was peak TCW.
I watched all 7 separate videos you made and then still watched this one all the way thru. Love the content bro
I barely watched this series in 2025 and I always considered myself a Star Wars fan but didn’t realize that I was missing out until I watched this series. I am all for watching more animation series. Just ❤the break downs.
What a great video man, awesome job!
Thanks a ton!
God the umbaru ark was just something else, I remember watching that for the first time and realized how perfect this show was
Am I the only one that wants an arc of Grevious killing Jedi on his way to taking the Chancellor to his ship right before ROS
1:35:06 Padme taught him, of course. I mean, if you’re stuck loving such a malajusted guy, you might as well make sure he can hit on you properly.
I appreciate that, thank you!
To me, the clone wars is what star wars is meant to be
I’ve tiered up for this show
Absolutely incredible video, glad to have watched all of it
Glad you enjoyed it
Amazing video and thorough analysis. Love going back and watching arcs of the Clone Wars. Siege of Umbara is a favorite of mine and ofc the Siege of Mandalore is a great arc that looks absolutely beautiful. I have gotten friends addicted to the Clone Wars show but tell them to stick passed S1 because it is the worst and to skip the R2 lost arc if they are having a really tough time with it
Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh it's... beautiful
U did forget to mention how when Anakin taps in the dark side the imperial march plays which one good theme for a dark side user
2nd its also very good foreshadowing
I watched the series for the first time at 28 and enjoyed the hell out of it
Thank for all these videos about Clone Wars
As an a normal uk adult the confort and different world feeling and Star Wars has made my life so good keeping up with all the stories and adventures
So I agree with your statement that the clone wars will only get better and better, as younger generations such as myself will grow and see the messages the series conveys, and we will only learn to love the series more, this series has, a place in my heart and will always have one, and although as I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten even more questions, like a lot of problems could be fixed with the force, like when Ahsoka lost her saber, why didn’t she use the force to force pull the saber back to her when she had a clear line of sight of it, or why don’t the Jedi just crush Grevious with the force, etc, etc. but other than that I love the series and will definitely continue to watch, share, and enjoy it
3:01:21 as a certified sequel hater. Giving them a Clone Wars esque companion show to improve them sounds like a great idea
Hate Disney forever for cancelling clone wars. Imagine how dark it would have got if it continued.
Really! Obi wan was given Anikan as an apprentice right after being knighted.
If i was in charge of s7 and 8 production, this how i would have done it
Start 7 with bad batch like the orginal, exciting episode to draw us back into the series.
2. Ahsoka walkabout
3. Crystal crisis 2 explain utapau
4. Bounty hunters, last time we see boba until in the empire.
5. Dark deciple (pt1)
6. Son of dathomir great end to the season 17-18 episode season. Rate it 7.9/10
Season 8 a slow but interesting start with
1. Kashyyk, to explain yoda relation with wookiee
2. R2 & rex top gun fun episode
3. moncala pt 2, xplain the plot of removing palps from office
4. Yuuthan vong, story picks up
5. Dark deciple pt2 ending ventress story until bad batch.
6. And finish it off with siege of Mandalore
19 episode send off, rate 7.79/10 xplains almost everything going into ROTS, Rebels, and into the empire trilogy.
That's the plan! I want to cover the bad batch in february or march. Closer to the 1 year anniversary of season 3
Hi! Had a blast watching these.
Will you cover the bad batch?
Eventually
Also very embarrassed to say that I thought that “eu” meant that europe had a different canon than north america….
Thank you for your videos bro you are on of my favorite TH-camrs
I appreciate that! Thank you for being a supporter!
im 100% with you on season 6 on how the clone wars series makes the jedi look, you would think they would do some kind of investigation on their own in secret or maybe they were but by the time of episode 3 it was too late kind of thing. but still i thought they didn't handle that well. a rare moment for the clones to suddenly kill a jedi and the council was like "oh well, i hope that doesn't ever happen again"
great effort from you on 8 videos. well made. entertaining.
Glad you like them!
Gave the whole series a very good breakdown. 8 Quality videos on many of our favourite era of star wars. It's a gold mine for content, and here we all are lapping it up 😅
@alexblaylock9984 agreed
1:34:41 it might just have to do with how much backlash some shows get especially if they aren’t just “normal” relationships
And with that it's over 😔 but low-key can't wait for your sequel retrospective video
still debating on if i will do that video
great video! coming from a person who grew up with the clone wars
Remember guys, IMDb doesn't give individual scores for the seasons
The way TCW and Revenge of the Sith handle Grievous is so infuriating - they turned someone that was a tragic vengeful warrior turned hateful Terminator with lightsabers in various EU/Legends material into a one dimensional moustache-twirling villain.
It’s funny cause as a kid I found the shower to be better in the earlier seasons but as you mature you realize how fantastic the later seasons really were.
A video i can watch while writing and drawing 💯
Clone wars is a complete success of story writing to keep an amazing saga going 😊
Krell is one of the most memorable characters in the whole show and hes literally dropped.
thanks for the full compilation can't wait to rewatch them and hope you do something for the bad batch when your ready.
for once I'm early so I wanted ask what do people think of the bad batch, tales (stuff) and other animated things that follow the clone wars? and also here are my own thoughts and ramblings (warning possible spoiler below)
- this has made me want to rewatch clone wars now, but also want to get the lego game out had it on the Wii and DS great game played a lot. love the battle system played it with my brother a lot we banned that one super tank and try and split the map in half one of those weird understandings we had. just like the big battle. but my favourite episode/archs tended to be about the clones. love the animation style I haven't seen anything else like it or use it.
Fire series. I may disagree with some point you made but regardless loved watching the whole thing.
Great job Goldman loved the series and can't wait for more
More to come!
@@thegoldman25 what are the future Star Wars series going to be you think I know you have other projects but do you have any Star Wars ones planned
I'll review Skeleton Crew when that finishes. But in the meantime nothing else star wars
@@thegoldman25 ok can't to see your next videos also sadly I can't join your stream Sunday but I'm sure it'll be awesome
I went back to the whole show recently and was unpleasantly surprised at some of the animation in the droid wars arc in season 1
Yeah it wasn’t great in S1
The reason the Expanded Universe was great is that it was an amalgamation of ideas across many minds and multiple media.
Great video, so much better when an actual CW fan breaks down all episodes.
That part with the star destroyer maneuver was actually a Venator
CW still holds up. It gives so much lore while making it entertaining.
what is the difference between a beach and parking lot? You can go swimming but there is no water and a moving vehicle will shout abuse at you.
The force is strong in this video.
Thank you!
2:08:30 They did cancle everything that was to dark. This is also the reason why we never got 1313
I personally feel like that could work
The Clone Wars is better than nearly every movie from Star Wars! There’s always something good that you can turn on with that show!
I‘d recommend you reading the novels for Ep 1-6 if you‘re into novelization it gives you much more details and maybe helps you appreciate the movies more
This feels like bait
If Lucas had been like that, the prequels would still be incredibly hated to this day.
this is actually such a good point that’s i’ve never taken into consideration
2:36 You know what else is MASSIVE?
LOWWWW TAPER FADE!
MY MOM!
Thank you for this
Im not going to lie. My favorite pieces of star wars media of all time: KOTOR2, Siege of Mandalore Arc, and Andor. Am i the crazy one?
