- New Furniture and Décor Alert!!! In this video, I show you a ton of furniture and décor items that we received for the breakfast nook, den, and porch.
Some of the stores/websites featured in this video are Target, Birch Lane, West Elm, World Market, and Ballard Designs. This includes dupes for Serena & Lily and Pottery Barn. While going over all the furniture I purchased, I go into detail about having buyer's remorse with a piece of furniture I purchased.
I also take you out on the porch to see the work of some rogue birds in our neighborhood. You won’t believe what you see!

Hi Tanelia. I too love a traditional design with a touch of contemporary mainly why I’m drawn to your channel. You can make the sofa work with your style the cognac color is traditional and will look great when add your style. Your home is coming together nicely.😊
Traditional design is so classic and timeless to me. And I think once I start to design the den, the couch will grow on me. I guess seeing all the brown (couch, floor, and bar) is throwing me off. Lol But I can't wait to show you all what I come up with. 🙂

I think the couch will grow on you. It is beautiful, and you said it's comfortable. Midcentury style furniture tends to be very versatile, so I think it'll blend in once you add more design layers.
I agree, I just need to decorate around it to enahnce it. I think it will grow on me then.
Love the leather couch 🛋. You could put a blanket in that basket 🧺 and place it beside the couch to warm up the room.
Quite a few other people said they love the couch too. 🙂 After I decorate the room, I'm hoping to start loving it too. 😍
Tanelia....you have some beautiful pieces throughout your home. Sometimes when we are trying to bring a space together, it's trial and error. But at the end it all comes together. I think everything will come together nicely...tfs

Yes, the glass table isn't functional anymore. And thanks for the compliment. I can really start to see the transformation from house to home. 😍
Those poor chairs are going through some things. First the kids used them for toy storage and now the birds are trying to live mortgage free!!😂

The sofa is beautiful. After you add a rug, lamp, pillows and other accessories maybe you will love it in the space.
That's what I'm thinking. The rug that I ordered should arrive in a week or 2, so I can't wait to see how it looks in the space.

Get the 8 feet rug snd the corners to the floor with the double sided tape.
I already ordered the 6' rug...had to take advantage of that BOGO Memorial Day sale. Lol But I'll see what it looks like. If I don't like it, I'll find something else.
If you put out one of those fake plastic owls it might scare the birds away from the chair! Or put out window box planters with flowers and they’ll choose that for a nest instead
I've really been considering those planters. I think they'll be beautiful. And as you said, provide double duty with keeping the birds away.
Btw, where are fake owls sold? Amazon?

regarding the birds, they are super annoying. they will build nest anywhere and particularly love rafters. I have tried several bird sprays and they dont work. what has been incredibly effective is anything reflective. I purchased reflective discs from amazon and hung them by my rafters and near a window that a particular bird liked to peck on and no more birds or nests in these areas. give it a try
Now that you mention it, I've heard of that hack.
We moved the chair to another spot and the birds haven't been back. Go figure. 🤷🏽♀️
