For me, is to much white on white. You don't have a focal point, the fireplace blended in to the wall. Yes is more light and breathable but blank, almost sterile

It’s lovely but I don’t like that the beautiful mahogany wood fireplace and mantelpiece is now white - the entire grand character of this room has been lost.
So many people say not to paint the wood. This video was a huge step in a positive direction as to why it SHOULD be painted. Wood tones in all sorts of colors are not always befitting to more modern living. What you have done by painting it white makes it look classic and TIMELESS. And it lends itself to all sorts of types of decorating. So for all you naysayers out there... check this out! Sharrah will definitely change your mind!
My favorite thing to do in my living room is look out the window to spot the wildlife. We enjoy watching quail, hawks, squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, javelina, deer, and the occasional bobcat! 👀

Every homeowner has to add their own touches to make their new home reflect them. You have done a beautiful job from paint, lighting, and furniture. I have a battery operated shade in our bedroom and just love it! Well worth the investment.

I like the way it looks… but I was really hoping we’d get to see how you worked with the wood not painted white. All you see these days is older houses getting painted white. I think a bigger challenge is taking the wood older charm and making it work with out covering it.
Painting dark wood always makes the biggest difference.....and you need to just paint over the naysayers who say ' you can't paint wood!'. Sure you can... and look at the great, light, fresh, clean and modern look you get! Everything else is wonderful also: great job!

Favorite thing to do in my livingroom is curl up in my lazy boy chair and watch TH-cam videos on my laptop while I have HGTV on the T.V...that's during pandemic time...if it was normal times, favorite thing to do, would be to have a party and watch a sporting event on on the T.V.
The wall color and painted wood look amazing, however the trendy furnishing resembles that of a California apartment. Overall it it light, bright, and definitely a step in the right direction

So many people don't want the woodwork in historic homes to be painted. If that's your opinion and you own one, don't paint yours. It's very oppressive looking and feeling, and I would be painting it just like Sharrah did in her home. It is GORGEOUS!
I've ordered some of the shade samples from Lutron... which ones did you order? What color? Are yours Sheerlite or Translucent? I need blackout in the bedroom, but in my living room I don't need anything more than just not allowing people to see in at night. Would their Sheer range at 3% accomplish that? We live in the forest in northern Canada so I love to look outside with my daughter at our beautiful view and teach her about all the plants, animals, etc!

I'm a dark wood person, but what you had was REALLY dark. So I do prefer what you did. Very light and cheerful. However, I would prefer that those very dark doors upstairs match the lighter wood of the stair banister. I would not paint them white because a contrast always looks better. Nice job, Sharrah!

I personally loved all the dark wood… I find that the soul has disappeared.Everything looks the same now…no contrast…so blend… you need some colour… some life …it has no personality at all.Love your electric blinds,the floors… the two beautiful paintings on the wall look lost,they don’t pop at all…I would change the frames or maybe that wall needs another colour..To me it seems like you were in such a hurray to get rid of the dark wood you just painted over everything in the same colour just to improve your mood…. This house was an absolute treasure before you changed it. Sorry if I’m blunt but opinions are sometimes contradictory.I have the feeling you are far from finish from decorating this room…Am I right?
I am not trying to be negative, just sharing my opinion but I preferred the before (with the wood dark), it had more a luxurious feel. Personally I dont like the white on white although I normally love your choices :)

The house itself is superb, the wood flooring so warm and with beautiful pattern. You have done an amazing job but personnally I would not put a side board infront of that wonderful bay window, nor painted the chimney wood sorround, it was great and original. I wish you wouldn't recommend spraying furniture with stain resistant chemicals. They are very detrimental to your health.
I'm normally a purist and against painting wood trim but you were right. Big job though!
