      I believe teeth can heal. With proper oral hygiene. Every ‘cavity’ I have had was caused from a Dentist ‘cleaning’ my teeth. I have regrown a molar naturally after the dentist made mistake and broke it.

      Currently I have a tooth that desperately needs to come out. My experience with dentists has been horrific for me and I am so afraid to open my mouth for another one. Lies and greed have caused me to not trust them. The injected numbing doesn't work anymore due to the abuse I have received. I need help.

      @@wasabi6507 Listerine is available and Crest. Just these 2 items made a world of difference! Keep in mind it's the way you brush your teeth and massage your gums while at it which is also key to gum health. Watch her vids on how to brush teeth properly. ACT Anticavity rinse is available too so I ordered it immediately when it was stocked online BUT before that pending availability I used a Flouride rinse from a different brand that my Kid uses in the proper formulation of .05% Sodium Flouride. This coupled with Xylitol mints or gum after meals have made a huge difference! I'm puzzled by the fact that the Closys website says, "Disrupts dental biofilm" because I'm positive she said that we want to keep that biofilm... ACT is just a mouthwash with more sodium fluoride (concentration 0.05%) like toothpaste has (most toothpastes have sodium fluoride concentration 0.24%), so its about giv8ng sodium fluoride time on your teeth. If I didn't have ACT, I'd just brush with alot of toothpaste (one inch strip at least) and let the brushing foam mix with my spit and swish it around in my mouth for a few minutes. Then spit it out and not rinse my mouth for 20 min, to give the fluoride spit mixture time to soak into my teeth

    I’m 55. I am excited about dental care these days. My gums and teeth look so good. I have taken pretty moderate care of my teeth for my adult life, most of my problems started when I was a kid, my mom didn’t teach me to take care of my teeth and when I went to the dentist all they did was drill n fill, I feel like the dental field is generally a rip off and all about fixing teeth not preventing or educating like you do. My daughter has had one cavity and she’s an adult now. I have told my family and friends about your system, it’s very affordable and accessible for nearly everyone. I can get just about everything I need in a few trips around town or online. Bless you, Dr. Ellie ❤🦷❤️

    I came across this channel just this past week. Feeling guilty of doing a self-inflicted filling in teeth#13 just 3 weeks ago.
    My Story: I’m 37 and was never been to a dentist until 34 when it was suggested by my doctor during annual check up. My visit to dentist revealed a cavity in #13. I got mouth debriment and root planning at the time but refused the filling even though the dental office called several times during the next year to remind me of filling. I eat clean and was hoping the cavity won’t progress.
    Next year I switched job and a got new dentist for routine cleanings. They said I have periodontal pockets and should be getting more frequent cleanings and a filling in #13. I had to leave that dentist due to unnecessary works they were sugge to do.
    This year, I got a swollen gum around #13 just 6 weeks ago even though I had been using string floss and toothpaste based on my dentist recommendations. I believe that flossing caused the injury and teeth #13 started to become more sensitive. I quickly signed up for a new dentist and the exam and x-rays revealed the cavity is of slightly bigger size and approaching nerve gradually. They suggested to get a filling or I will lose my teeth. I panicked and during my due diligence, both the internet searches, and in-person folks I talked to suggested to get one and forget about it for next several years. I was skeptical until the last minute but since they numbed my gums for recent deep cleaning, I said go ahead to a big composite filling.
    My post filling sensitivity issues in #13 led me to Dr. Ellie’s protocol and I’m so mad on my decision. I postponed this filling for 3 years, hoping it will heal/remineralize on its own with my disciplined diet and routine brushing and flossing. Now I got the filling with similar sensitivity issues and no chance of natural healing. I just wrote this comment upon trying oral care routine the very first time. My mouth feels so good and clean. I feel so bad for my tooth and this self inflicted wound.
    Remaining optimistic, I hope this filling could withstand a decade while on this oral care routine and won’t create problems in future. Though the dentist said that since it was big its life could be 3-5 or max 7 years.
    If anyone with composite filling could comment on fillings lifespan on Dr Ellie’s oral care routine.
    I promised to my 31 pristine teeth that I won’t be doing harm to them.

One thing I'd like to know is how to know when it is too risky to remineralize and instead should do a filling. @10:19 you mentioned if you feel pain that your nerve is at risk but then @10:37 you said that it is already affected so pain doesn't seem to be a good gauge to prevent a root canal.

      In my office, unless someone had serious toothache that lasted over 2 minutes each time they ate something - even if we knew the tooth would eventually need a filling - the tooth will be easier to fill, and the new filling will have a far better chance of success, if you have a healthy mouth at the time the filling is done. I usually allowed my patients about 3 months before we ever did ANY non-emergency treatment.

    We have been taught to brush our teeth twice a day and go for dental checkup every 6 months or so.
    During those visits, when I'm on the dentist chair and the doctor says I have a few fillings to do. I would usually comply because they are the professionals.
    But then deep in my thoughts, wouldn't it make a deeper hole as you drill. How long will the filling last? Do they need to drill and fill in again? I'm afraid my tooth may even wear out faster!
    Thank you, doctor. Today I learned demineralisation and remineralisation. As they say, 'Prevention is better than cure'
    I would rather observe a complete system of mouthcare than to have, sometimes, unnecessary treatment.

    My wife (75) and I (83) are giving parts of your system a try. At my wife's annual cleaning, her dental hygienist remarked that her teeth were noticeably cleaner after just a week on Xylitol and Crest. I have severely receding gums and have been following part of the system for about a month now (Xylitol, Crest, Cool Mint and Act, stopped flossing, twice-daily brushing including massage of the gums using Oral-B electric w/Floss Action head).
    My teeth look and feel cleaner and the gums seem to be responding a little to the massaging, but I recently noticed progression of recession on numerous teeth that I never noticed before. I am also concerned that the gums do not appear to be bonding well to the teeth but am resisting the urge to floss. We are giving the system three months before deciding whether to continue or not, and sure hope we don’t regret it.
    My questions I have are: 1) what part of the system promotes redevelopment of the bond between the gums and the teeth, and how can I assess progress there; and 2) is any of this system bad for my high blood pressure?

    Ellie, I need to be empowered. Just before I found you I went to a specialist. I had infection, receding gums, and bone loss. I had several teeth pulled, as well deep cleaning under the gums. After my gums and pulled teeth were healed I went back for a check up. I was told I still had problems under the gums and would need to be cut open to remove the infection and that they won't make a temporary/permanent for me until after the surgery was completed . It was after that that I found you. I purchased all of the products you recommended and began using it faithfully. I feel great improvement if not almost 100 % since. My teeth have tightened up, are cleaner and have become stronger. I really do believe my gums are coming back too. With all that said I still need to go back for my temporary/permanent. I wouldn't go back to them at all because the temporary fits very well but the temporary is short two teeth necessary for connecting with two bottom teeth for chewing. At the time when I realized this I didn't think it was a problem since I would soon be getting my temporary/permanent teeth but as I said they won't make them until after I have the surgery. My teeth have improved so much that I don't think I need the surgery on my gums. I am going to call them requesting another check up but feel I need more information and empowerment to back me up. Being professionals I fear they won't listen to me. Where can I get proof and empowerment to fight the fight I may have ahead of me. People have commented that you are only out to make money. I think you really want to help us have better hygiene, teeth and gums so I hope you will give me some good advise to approach the professionals in this matter.

    I had a tooth which had a bluish tint and I found the tint accidently as it was covered by my cheek. The dentist told me it did look like a decay, even though I take super good care of my oral hygiene. He had it grind and discovered that it was like the leftover of mercury filling replaced with white filling?? No idea but it was NOT a decay! Because of that, I had so much of the tooth removed and replaced with new white filling and caused sensitivity for a while. Thankfully it went away and now I am ok. BUT he should have done X-ray first!!! Unnecessary cost for me too!

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I cannot answer that - it all depends on how they drilled and filled the tooth.
      i'd say it is always worth 6-9 months trying my system and see what happens.
      Be sure to use the toothbrushes that I recommend and brush these areas well - as they are often plaque traps that can stain easily.
      Staining would be the most likely problem - but either you or a dental cleaning would clean this off ....so yes, I'd recommend giving this a try.

    • @is9893
      @is9893 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your reply, Dr Ellie! I don’t understand what you mean by staining is the most likely problem. I’ve been using your system for a week now and noticed that my white fillings that I only had installed a few months ago are noticeably brown and there is also some brown staining on my other teeth. Are the rinses staining my teeth?!

    • @SunrayStar
      @SunrayStar 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@is9893 No, it is not likely that the rinses are staining your teeth. Dr. Ellie meant that those areas of the old white fillings are plaque traps because white composite filling material attracts the growth of plaque. Then, they can stain easily because the staining is normally old dead plaque bacteria that has died off quickly and in a large amount due to your mouth conditions suddenly improving. That die-off leaves staining, which she said can be removed by either you (brushing those teeth harder with one of the approved medium-firmness toothbrushes), or else cleaned off by a hygienist at a dental cleaning.

      Every six months? I'm no expert, but that seems like a lot. Did they give a reason for that frequency?

    • @SunrayStar
      @SunrayStar 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Here is some info on X-rays that I wrote down years ago:
      1) Always have the hygienist use the thyroid cover over your throat area in addition to the lead apron whenever they take X-rays.
      2) To reduce your exposure to radiation, refuse panoramic X-rays unless there is a true actual need for one (many dentists do them just because insurance companies will now cover them).
      3) Ask the technician to take only 2 bitewings of your mouth instead of 4 if you are not at a big risk. Oftentimes, 4 bitewings is completely unnecessary, and particularly if you have a smaller mouth.
      4) Take Vitamin C right before your appointment.
      5) I don't know if this has changed by now or not, but at the time I wrote this down, the then-current FDA guidelines for adult dental X-rays recommended bitewings every 2-3 years (instead of yearly or, heaven forbid, every 6 months), if you have no tooth decay and are not at high risk for cavities.
      6) It does not matter if your dentist wants you to do really frequent X-rays; you are under no compulsion to have to do anything that the dentist suggests if you don't want to. You cannot afford to be passive when it comes to issues vital to health and quality of life. It is your own health, not your dentist's own health, that he is affecting or putting at risk, so you should take control of your own health and not risk just putting yourself in the hands of others or accepting whatever is standard practice. Your doctor should work with you, but you should be in charge of your own health and stand your ground. Don't be afraid to explain how you feel and assert your own wishes, even if it makes for an uncomfortable situation.

    I’ve been using this system for just over three months and my mouth is now a mess! I don’t understand. I have checked several times that I am using the right products, and I stopped flossing as she recommends.
    I now get gum sores that come and go. My front teeth are getting stains (from tea) like never before. And I now have at least 2 teeth that are sensitive to temperature (more hot than cold).
    Prior to using the system, I had used natural products for at least 20 years. I even went 8 years at one point without a dental visit and they were shocked because I had no plaque build up nor any cavities.
    I changed to this system after watching many Dr Ellie videos and wanting to ensure that I have strong, healthy teeth well into my senior years. Now I’m wondering if I made a mistake?!?
    Again, I follow the system exactly. Using the right products and even time myself using a stopwatch, for rinsing and brushing. Nothing about my diet has changed. I eat little to no added sugars, lower carb, and plenty of fresh, organic foods with plenty of fiber.
    What could be going wrong? Should I stop using this system?

      I’d suggest my strategies that strengthen enamel. The stronger your surrounding enamel the less you will notice these white spots, and in some cases they may get better and possibly disappear.
      The time for this is between 3-6 months - so it’s certainly worth a try before thinking about veneers or cosmetic options.

      Can you at least get plain xylitol granules or crystals that come loose in a 1-pound bag? It is very reasonably priced that way, and if you could at least start using xylitol, and take at least 6 to 7 doses every day (1 gram or about 1/4 teaspoon for each dose, put into your mouth and swish around for 2 to 5 minutes before you swallow it), you would actually get a lot of benefit just from doing that. Someone else here on this page in the comments said that he had painful tooth decay and that when he started using xylitol, it immensely reduced his pain. If you can't do anything else in Dr. Ellie's program besides the xylitol, then rinsing with salt water is actually a very good thing to do. I will pray for you also.

    Hi Dr. Ellie Phillips, I damaged the enamel on my two front lower teeth many years ago and that seems to be the only place where I have plaque build up now.
    From what I've researched there is no hope of repairing the enamel.

    My theory is to make my mouth alkaline after every meal and snack. I chose the method of eating celery after every meal and snack., Then after the celery I use Xylitol to produce the saliva for remineralization. I'm hoping this strategy will reverse two small cavities. I like your Xylitol products because you don't put glycerine in them..

    I used this system for a short time, and then noticed that my teeth were becoming sensitive. There's a technique used by dentist where a compound (I have no idea what it is) on a Q-tip is pressed onto the tooth, to see if a nerve is alive. My teeth felt like that - sensitive roots while swooshing. Also, my bottom teeth are becoming discolored and are no longer smooth. I'm not sure which of the 3 treatments are causing this, but I would appreciate if I could get some advice. Thanks!!

      @@dr.elliephillips I am definitely using the exact formulas that are listed in your program. The ACT rinse does say 1Xdaily, and I'm doing everything twice a day. Could that be the problem? Doctor Ellie, i got dark stain between all teeth 2-3 weeks after dental cleaning and 2 months on your system. I do floss some places were food stucks and front lower teeth where i have orrhodontic wire to retain their allignment. I saw the dentist to clean plaque around wire and some stain. No new plaque since, but the stain is now the worst i ever had. I only eat 2-3 times a day, no snacks. Should i double zellies? Or clean again and then double?

    • @dr.elliephillips
      @dr.elliephillips  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I’d recommend checking your toothbrushes - that you are using the resilient ones I recommend & have enough to let them dry for 24 hours between uses. Don’t soak your brush in anything - allow them to air dry. Otherwise they get too soft.
      I think you just need to brush these areas of staining a bit more vigorously.

    I have gum disease 50% top 70% bottoms. Im 62 and known for my big smile the periodontist said he wants to do scaling and root planting does this help? He also told me hes not able to build up the bone around my teeth but will do the deep cleanings. Is this my only hope. He did say I had no cavities except two very tiny cavities he wants to fill. He wants to remove a very healthy molar because its in the way of cleaning my gums around it. Does this sound right?

    • @kimclark5736

      I'm 64 and had scaling and root planing. It didn't really help to be honest. Every subsequent appointment, I still had deep pockets, cavities, etc-- even though I was flossing and using a water pik. After losing yet another molar (which had previously been filled and crowned), I started this system. My gums have grown back like the dentist said they never would, and my teeth feel great. I wish I had known about this long ago. I've learned to despise most dentists. Their "work" has caused me much suffering.

    I am wondering if it would be possible to use other brands/flavors of mouthwash as long as they have the same ingredients? For example, the green FreshBurst Listerine has the same ingredients as the Cool Mint. Additionally, Rexall has a dye-free antiseptic mouthwash that has identical ingredients to the Cool Mint Listerine, minus the dye! Is there any reason not to use these other mouthwashes if the ingredients are identical? Please advise.
    Here is the list of ingredients from the Rexall dye-free mouthwash:
    Eucalyptol 0.092%,
    Menthol 0.042%
    Methyl salicylate 0.060%,
    Thymol 0.064%
    water, alcohol (21.6% v/v), sorbitol, poloxamer 407, benzoic acid, sodium saccharin, sodium benzoate, flavor.

      If you decide to mix these around - you may get different results - I just can't know.
      I know what I know and I trust this system.
      Why not use the strategies I recommend and get your mouth in ultimate oral health status - and then you could experiment and see what else works.
      This would be especially good advice if you currently have any dental concerns you want to fix.
