Thank you so much for this video!! My dentist recommended to remove my root canals (3) to put implants. I didn’t feel comfortable with the idea of implants for my teeth. This video helped me make my decision.

I had 4 root canals but three of them after many years got infected and my dentist recommended implants. Every person is different, but for me eventually implants was the way to go. Just keep in mind that root canals the chances to not work down the road are real. Good luck.

My friend’s dentist told him to just get an implant to avoid the potential of the root canal going bad. He said he was saving him money and time bc it was just a matter of time. Ideally I just want to avoid any decay and damage to my entire body. I don’t like getting any body parts removed and don’t like certain materials in my body. Japan came up with a way to regrow teeth in mice. There’s a video about blocking USAG-1 by Aija Mayrock.

Unfortunately, I recently had a tooth extraction. It all started with being talked into getting a crown for my # 3 molar because my regular dentist said the existing filling was worn out and there wasn't enough tooth area/surface left for a replacement filling to grab onto. I got the crown, and less than a year later, after repeated infections (and I try to keep a very clean mouth), I had to have an emergency extraction because I couldn't take the pain, which was going on for days. A different dentist at the same place I go to had taken a look at the tooth and said she would be willing to do a root canal, but because of the existing infection, wasn't confident it would be successful, so in a panic from the pain, I opted for extraction. Now I'm into this situation for thousands of dollars because dental insurance doesn't cover implants. And on top of that, I've got sinus issues and had to take 6 to 8 advils per day for over a month and a half (that can't be good). And that's just from the extraction. I have yet to have the implant put in, so that'll be another month or two of pain and pain management when that happens. Moral of the story: Do not let your dentist talk you into anything unless you're experiencing pain or some other issue. My # 3 molar wasn't bothering me. I was just going by my dentist's "expert opinion" that it was time to deal with an aging filling. What a mistake.

Please switch your pain management to Arnica, Montana 30X HPUS, it is much safer. I was doing exactly what you were doing with the Advil every 5 to 6 hours and got a blood clot that could have killed me. Don’t listen to anyone that tells you it cannot happen with Advil. Taking NSAID several x a day for more than a week can (and it has) cause blood clots! Do your research - there is info out there on this topic. I feel your pain - I will keep you in 🙏.

I wish I'd seen this a fortnight ago! Just before a holiday I'd had a bad toothache (absess), and had an emergency root canal + temporary filling. On return I was given the option of a crown or removal of the lower molar. I've never been happy with crowns, and asked if the molar could be consolidated with resin filling...just how you advise. But my dentist warned against it ~ she said there is a tendency for nerveless teeth to crack, without a crown. I then opted for an extraction. It took 25 minutes (!) for her to remove the molar, and I was broken hearted when I saw the roots of the tooth when it had been pulled...they were perfectly pink and healthy looking. I realized that even without the nerve, the tooth was healthily embedded. The sequelae of infection, spicules, blocked salivary glands and stress followed.

    • @irap21
      @irap21 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

Your story sounds bizarre. Firstly, a completed one visit root canal for an abscessed tooth is highly unusual. Secondly, if that was accomplished then a crown is certainly indicated as a final restoration. Now these days, it can also be restored with a fiber enforced composite or even an inlay-onlay. Finally, it is malpractice to suggest extracting a tooth after a successful root canal procedure. What is going on here?

    • @JoannaLouise200
      @JoannaLouise200 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@irap21 Ultimately I was improperly advised by the young dentist, who gave the impression that the tooth would be structurally weakened by not having a nerve. I wish I had insisted on consolidation of the structurally sound ennervated tooth with a composite/resin material (which was my instinct), but it seems this was not the norm for that dentist. Clearly a 'good' tooth was removed. This is a lesson hard learnt and next time anything like this occurs, I will specifically seek an endodontist as the compassionate Dr Ellie advises.

I have a crown on a tooth that has not had a root canal. It's always been a problem but my dentist says there is nothing wrong with it and refuses to do a root canal. It's very cold sensitive and I can't chew anything slightly hard on it because it doesn't feel strong enough. It's uncomfortable. I have brought this issue up with my dentist multiple times and they refuse to acknowledge it. She's making me feel like I'm crazy and there's nothing wrong with the tooth. I've asked her to do a root canal because it's so sensitive. She says, is it waking you up in the middle of the night? No, it's not but it's still not right. I spent a lot of money on a crown and I don't know what to do next.

Hi. I had similar issues, my cousin was my dentist and ignored me for years. I ended up going to another upscale dentist office and they wanted to do the root canal right away. Scheduled it for the next day. Turns out that wasn't the main issue. I had a mid face abscess they all missed. Ended looking like a saggy balloon and a monster.
They called to see how was doing that evening and asked me to come back because I was even worse. drilled the root canal again plus other teeth that ended up being healthy. So they sent me to get emergency anibiotics, which did absolutely nothing but make it even worse and huge bill only for the er doctor to say there is nothing they can do either.
The root canal surgeon called the next morning and sent me to a MAXOFACIALL dental surgeon to do a 3D scan of my whole head. where upon seeing me he instantly knew i had a classic case of non symptomatic mid face abscess. It was clear as day on the scan on my whole head but not the one on my teeth. It cost me way less than the root canal and emergency room. I went back to get the fill and they had to open up the tooth yet again and put medicine in it. I'm currently waiting to heal, if it does not then they have to pull and check my bone for infection. This could have been avoided had i known years earlier or not been ignored and dismissed.
My brother just went and paid 340 for it and was told he was clear and not to worry and it was a hairline fracture but he needs to have a new crown put in because it failed and to do it before any infection sets in. I highly suggest anyone being ignored to go get this 3D scan or if you have a pad or nerve pain on your cheek and especially ptosis that comes and goes. Apparently the Maxofaciall surgeon thinks I've had it for years and I think it's been triggering my autoimmune this entire time. Learn from me, I'm in thousands of debt now due to this. So 340 is peanuts and the surgery is 940. What grinds his gears is that he said he could have saved my tooth from Day 1.

I had that years ago and they couldn't find anything wrong. But then I confessed I was using a store-bought grinding guard from the local drug store that goes on your back molars when you sleep. It was a semi-hard semi-soft material and when you fall asleep you're constantly biting and biting and biting on it and it's simply inflamed the nerves and made the tooth sore! It felt exactly like it was infected had a cavity become a hot cold sensitivity etcetera but actually nothing was wrong, it was my fault

I am somewhat unsure about what you have stated about root canals. I had two root canals done by the best Endodontics practice in my area and I had intermittent pain in one which eventually subsided but ten or so years in, they both failed with excruciating pain needing emergency surgery to pull both teeth. I was always told my dental hygiene was wonderful at dental visits but still, this happened. I then had another dentist put in zirconium implants (incorrectly, sadly) and they both failed only months after. I ended up having to live with two missing back upper molars on one side to this day which has resulted in jaw clicking and I can't chew on one side. I do not trust these dentists whatsoever. I am thankful I have used your system for a year now and have had beautiful results but the fact remains that root canals can't possibly kill all bacteria in the tooth and they can be reservoirs of infection. I know for myself, I felt so much better after they were pulled and I had been having health issues that must have been related that they caused. Also my sinus was broken into during implant surgery and I have had recurrent infections ever since. I just do not think the "science" is quite there as to understanding how a tooth is a live organ and can't be left in the mouth or that an implant is like a real tooth. I don't know what the answer is, but I do know the nightmare I went through due to this whole thing.

In some families people don't live long enough to get cancer so you might not see 80 year old with cancers. Also dementia happens to half the people who live to a very old age. I agree to some extent about real teeth being better. But there's also another factor. People who have healthy teeth are more likely to eat nuts fruit, fresh vegetables etc. if there's pain or wrong denture fit, they might not eat what they should

I had a tiny cavity on the very edge my #8 tooth at age 38. My 1st cavity. The dentist drilled in too far and killed my tooth. No one explained what a root canal was. I was supposed to know ? My tooth turned gray eventually (8 years later) because I didn’t get the root canal. I had no pain. The dentist could not clean the inside of the tooth to make it white again. I had to get a crown. It broke after 2 years because the post was my shaved down tooth.
I had to pay for the entire 2nd crown because insurance only pays for one crown every so many years. I asked if I could get testing for allergies to metals before they did the crown and post. She said “the post is titanium. Most people are fine with that”. She didn’t tell me the crown would have silver in it. I had a bad reaction to silver jewelry years ago so I avoid silver jewelry.
She put the crown back too far and when I would bite down my crown hit my bottom teeth. She shaved the back of the crown and exposed the silver. She shaved my bottom teeth down all crooked.
I had some discomfort (because it was in wrong!! And my bite was off!) so she sent me to the endodontist. He tried to convince me I had an issue with the tooth next to it (my eye tooth). I kept saying the discomfort was above the crown. He did a “preventive” root canal on the perfectly good eye tooth. There is no such thing. It was insurance fraud. He has done this to many others. He has some very bad reviews. Once I saw the ones about the “preventive” root canals I posted my bad review and said what he did to me.
My crown post broke (because it was put back too far) and now I can’t get another crown. I need bone grafting and an implant. But they want to attach the implant to the tooth next to it since it’s in the front. That one has no root thanks to the endodontist. So they want to do a crown with a metal post and attach them. No way.
If the crown has an issue I’d have to get the implant redone as well.
They want $6k to do this. My insurance covers $700. We don’t have that kind of money and we don’t qualify for any loans and couldn’t pay a loan because right now we don’t have extra after bills are paid.
I’m walking around with a tiny part of my tooth sticking out of my gum (part of the old post) looking all nasty. And it’s right in front next to my front tooth. I don’t smile anymore. I HAD perfectly straight teeth from braces and the dentist would always say I had beautiful teeth. That crown being positioned incorrectly caused my front tooth to move back some. Now it hits my bottom teeth when I bite down. I need braces again!! No way they could put an implant in and have it look right since my front tooth is now jacked up as well.
I look hideous. It’s been 3 years now. I don’t even like talking outside the house because sometimes you can see that nasty thing. I’d rather have an empty space than that part of the tooth showing. I’m a people person so it totally sucks not being able to smoke or laugh in public without grossing people out. That endodontist should lose his license and that original dentist should be paying for all this work I need. It’s all her fault. The 2nd one didn’t help either. She should be paying for braces for me. lol

My wife and I have been on your mouth care regimen for close to six months. One problem I've run into is with the Zellies mints. I've tried them, at two different times, and had the same results. I have ulcerative colitis that, I get infusions with Entyvio. It keeps my colitis in check. But with the mints, I had bleeding. Just wondering if anyone else, has had a reaction like that. I've not used the mints anymore, and hope the rest of the regimen will still work for me. Thank you, be well.

The answer for anyone who is unable to consume xylitol is to use the crystals - and literally brush your teeth with some of these crystals, using a toothbrush - either at the end of a meal or at the other times when you would normally have a mint.
Xylitol is an important part of the process - and you will loose much of the benefit without using some.
By brushing with the crystals, you will spit out - but leave the residue in the saliva in your mouth.
Xylitol FEEDS the good bacteria in your mouth - which makes a big difference to the healing of your gums and teeth.
Crystals are available on Amazon (Zellies does not sell any of these)
Use the toothbrushes that I recommend - the MOUTHWATCHERS flossing brushes - and wet the brush first - then add the crystals.
You do not need to add any toothpaste - you can simply brush with the xylitol crystals.
Here is a link to the crystals which come in small packets - you need less than a quarter of the packet at each brushing - aim for one packet per day.

  • @MrDukeeeey

No science exists that says it's possible to fully sterilise a root canal tooth, infection remains indefinitely in these teeth. Root canals are waaaay more complex than the simplistic diagrams that dentists provide. They have many lateral and accessory canals, which are basically impossible to clean mechanically or fill. This is ignoring the problem of dentin itself, which is compeltely porous and will start to grow anaerobic bacteria. Dentistry has done basically no research into the safety of root canals. Basic stuff such as cutting open these teeth to see what they are growing, looking at cadaveurs to see the bone health around these teeth. The literature that is published on the subject is far from glowing with regards to keeping these teeth. I agree with what you said about implants though. Peri-implantitis is very common, and without a periodontal membrane infection basically spreads deep into the bone.

Hi most of the time we don’t realize that our teeth are alive

I changed dentists a couple years ago due to a change in insurance and on the first visit the new dentist diagnosed a silver filling that he said is leaking and he wanted to do a crown saying that the filling is too large to repair. He said if I don't, sooner or later it will turn into a root canal and that I should be proactive and do a crown. I have been using Dr. Ellie's system for several months now and virtually eliminated plaque and tartar build-up which had been a problem before. The hygienist was amazed when I went for a cleaning since starting the system. It's been a couple years and I still haven't gotten the crown that the dentist recommended. Not sure if I should. I don't want to give up the tooth unnecessarily and not sure if the dentist is being honest about the leaking filling. I've had this silver filling most of my life. No pain, sensitivity or anything at all with the tooth. Seems hard to believe that it's suddenly failing just when I changed dentists and my prior dentist didn't notice it. Any thoughts? Should I get the crown or leave the silver filling alone and risk that it ever turns into a root canal down the road?

She can't give you dental advice on your situation. I would say get a second opinion.

I am a retired dentist Anyone telling you that a filling is leaking is fraudulent. A large filling can last a lifetime. Only work on a tooth if you can demonstrate a problem such as decay seen on a x-ray. Always remember that any procedure done to a tooth can lead to a problem in the immediate or distant future. Run away because this dentist is looking for work.

So once you get to your seventh decade, what would be the point of putting an implant (screw) into increasingly osteoporotic bone?

It all depends.....That's why it is always good to weigh your options - and in most cases there will be three options you can consider for almost every dental situation. Search them out....weigh the pros and the cons.

Biologic dentists do not recommend root canals????? They say the infection cannot be completely removed so you are filling a dead tooth with infection still in it????

Thank you. Now how do i convince these dentists here, that i want to keep my root (upper part gone), and not out, and put in it an partial implant? They won't do it, they don't want to. (I don't have enough money atm anyway though.)

I have a missing tooth, a molar🦷 between 2 others in my upper jaw, actually root canals. Shall i have a bridge or an implant?
Thank you doctor Ellie for your insights ❤

Wait until an implant fails especially in the molar region? Was not 🤬fun!! It took 7 weeks of sheer agnony to finally heal. Not the same as a tooth extraction. The gums were the worst trying to reattach to the bone. I’d never go this route again! Not worth the money and pain.

Well, I lost some teeth for orthodontic care and also wisdom teeth being extracted. About 5 years ago I lost another tooth to resorption. The x-ray showed the tooth literally dissolving from the inside. What causes this may not be clear, but it happens, but it can't be prevented no matter much you care for your teeth. I had two choices: Root canal or extraction and then the implant. I chose the implant route. The problem with a root canal is the tooth might continue to dissolve. The endodontist strongly suggested the extraction and implant. It's worked out for me, but implants do take a while. If I end up losing my mind because my brain is getting as much stimulation, oh well. :/

I especially found the section on the peridontal ligament, it's connection to the decision center in the brain, and the importance of chewing - this is why I would rather chew my food rather than make smoothies and drink it, plus I enjoy the flavor of my food more by chewing.

I started your brushing system almost 2 months ago. My teeth feel so much better and i definitely notice my receded gums filling back in. I also have afib. and noticed that it is fading away. Do our teeth have any connection with this? Maybe it's just coincidence. Im 65 and take no prescription medicine. I also follow Dr William Li.
