Down South Trip, chapter Wind Farm Albany

The Albany and Grasmere wind farms are situated on the coast about 12 kilometers (7 mi) south-west of the city. The windfarm is located just outside Albany City Centre along Frenchman Bay Road. Take Sand Patch road off of Princess Avenue five kilometers outside Albany. Located on the south-western side of the Torndirrup Peninsula only a short way from Natural Bridge and The Gap natural stone formations, the Albany Wind Farm is easy to work into a day's adventuring in the Torndirrup National Park.
They are in an elevated position at approximately 80 metres (262 ft) above the Southern Ocean. The height and locality is designed to maximise exploitation of local wind conditions, and combined with the short distance to the main electricity transmission system make this an outstanding wind farm site.
