In all fairness Lex is the embodiment of disliking Superman. Hate, disdain, bitterness, annoyance, Lex feel's all of it for Superman and is vocal about it in all of his different incarnations.
I was a Superman neutral...then I read All-Star Superman. Superman is THE best Superhero. He's an inspiration. It's more than his power, it's *who* he is. If your young child does not look up to Superman, you are doing something wrong.
A lot of people see Superman as a power fantasy but that misses his entire point. Superman is the penultimate hero. He's a hero not because his powers allow him to be a hero, he's a hero because of his own ideals. He's a hero because Clark Kent is a good man who would go out of his way to help people even if he was just a Smallville farmboy. The fact that he is Superman is secondary to the humilty and heroism inside him.
Same, It took me until last year to change my mindset on Superman since then I watched MAWS, the first Reeves movie, and read All four Seasons. I hope Superman gets his chance to shine when his movie comes out.
Superman is a morality character. he has flaws like any other person would with any human emotions. The best stories talks about not him being the most powerful, but being the most empathetic and human despite being from another planet. Too many really miss out on that concept because they are looking for the flash in the pan/ dark characters , instead of true substance. (I’m apologizing early for blowing up the comment section. I love the commentary.)
In the next movies the should show that his true “weakness” is not the kryptonite or some strong mf but the fact that he’s so kind and empathetic that gets depressed when he can’t save everyone, they should challenge him not on the physical level but on the emotional one
@@Deathsoul1720 I remember that one justice league movie where one of his villains exploited his kindness by pretending that he was someone about to commit suicide. Honestly, at least on the screen, villains don't use that fact about him to their advantage enough.
From Captain America to Superman, the big blue Boy Scout character is my favorite archetype because they're inspirational. In this cynical present day, their ideals are more needed than ever.
We at least got that archetype coming back into animated shows at least maws and I think x 97 did a good job (even mcu cap isn't that bad or innacurate really)

What I love about Superman is how humble he is. He's the type of man to punch alien conqueror one moment, and then save a cat from a tree the next. No job is too big or small for him. He sees someone in need, he'll help.
@@Chuckles_The_Echidnathat’s why I really liked the last death battle with them because they are basically sparring partners and they do a wholesome fist bump at the end
I'm just sick of the evil superman trope. Injustice almost ruined him for me. I also like how the hypocrites are cry OP then say X character beats him. Power scalers are boring as hell. Superman's optimism is what I love and the world needs it.
Shows like Death Battle did some damage to characters like Superman and other popular comic characters. It wasn’t intentional on their part but it did help create the power scaling feuds we have now. Would Superman win a fight to the death with so and so? Hypothetically yes but he would never actually do that. Also power scaling is dumb as a concept because you cannot apply real science to fictional characters. You can try, and boy does Death Battle try, but it just won’t work. There is always something that gets overlooked in order to give one character an edge over the other. Power scaling also defeats the purpose of a lot of these stories because it is not about the amount of power the hero needs to beat the villain, it is about the journey the hero goes on. Injustice Superman was neat the first time as an Else-world story but when everyone else started to copy the evil Superman trope, it got lame quick. The only one that I thought handled it pretty well was the Red Son storyline. Which ends with Superman realizing he was wrong and working to save humanity from all the trouble he caused. I really hope the James Gunn Superman turns out well and does not end up a Superman Returns part 2. Supes and the other DC heroes really need to get out of Batman’s shadow.
Injustice has tainted the public perception of him. Same with Snyder. They missed out on the Superman Animated Series, which is what made me love him in the first place as a kid. He's so interesting because of WHO HE IS, and what he represents. Superman's good, and that IS good. I guess maybe I'm just old-fashioned. Edit: And yeah, Superman and Batman are better as friends, rather than as enemies.
I still can't believe WB wasted the first ever moment Superman and Batman meet in live action just to have Batman try to kill Superman. As if their relationship is only defined by the Dark Knight Returns. We could've had an amazing World's Finest teamup, but WB screws it up every chance they get.
@@nont18411 if you can't understand what they were trying to go for with Zack's superman then there's no point in giving my point of view because you're just gonna leave the conversation the same way you came in
Snyder is correct and incorrect about Superman. Clark has killed when his back is to the wall, but he already decided long ago that he would never kill. Superman and Batman are not heroes because they kill, but because they choose not to. They believe in redemption and the ability to influence their enemies into rehabilitation. As many times as Lex Luthor and the Joker have tried to kill them, they still believe that they are worth saving.
I love superman especially as a father teaching his son Jonathan Samuel Kent Superboy as his little 10 year old self being a great hero and honestly to take a quote from my favorite line from superman vs the elite dreams save dreams help us and i swear by my soul I will never stop fighting which is amazing speech in my opinion.

For her it came down to "truth, justice and the American way" (we're South African, and there's a lot to unpack with that MO lol) and at the time I didn't have a good comeback, having only really watched the Snyderverse movies since I was a kid. That argument got me to pick up the comics and really get to grips with the character... he's now easily my second favourite superhero. Its a shame he's so misunderstood, his sincerity is sorely missed in modern superhero movies, and society too. Hopefully his movie gets him the respect and understanding he deserves

"He's too overpowered" literally all this people watch anime and every modern shonen has broken powers and abilities but they clap like seals then but SUPERMAN???? Nah too boring
You can't just say cause they watch anime and end it there. We know what these characters went through to achieve that, and they are sometimes given good reasons to achieve that power and how their personality matches it. Most of the time, Superman gets powers or feats to beat the big bad world, no substance. Sure his characters good but the man is op, and due to DC not ending the books with superman (like any other manga once the characters have achieved their goals and gotten stronger), they continue and its why most ppl don't care for superman like that.
@@faith4657this is a very vapid point that almost always stems from people just not having experience reading the character. Superman’s whole idea is that he’s a power fantasy - everything “mundane” about him is turned up to 11 and is fantastical and grandiose, and yet there’s humanity and real struggles at the center of his superhuman world. Superman struggles with his identity and sense of self, he struggles with grief and living up to the hopes and dreams of a dead world while pushing a living world forward and protecting it, he deals with loneliness and isolation, and the uniqueness of his challenges and scope makes him feel alien to a world he’s always known. Characters are more than the baddies they can put down, or how powerful they are. The Lanterns are right next to Superman in strength and yet they have endlessly engaging narratives and stories. And an ironic twist is, the people who say Superman is boring are almost always huge Batman fans, who are perfectly fine with him being smarter, more capable, and always controlling the narrative. They say Clark is too strong but gush about Bruce having some super duper secret contingency that takes out a team of planet busters. It’s even funnier when you consider that Superman’s villains beat the snot out of Supes 24/7, and the Justice League’s villains are actually just Superman’s rogues gallery. Batman fans will gleefully eat up scenes of Bats outsmarting Darkseid though…. But that’s not a problem exclusive to casual fans, it’s an issue established comic writers have had with believing Superman to be boring until they actually sit and write the guy. Casual fans have gotten a gross overexposure to Batman compared to any other DC hero, and Superman has an awful characterization in the DCAU where he is very much sterile and boring. Adaptations shape perception, and Batman has just had a better streak is all.
@yourarchnemesis8453 I know Superman, but i highly doubt you understand anime, especially with this guy. Makes an absolute statement and passes it off as truth.

2:40 didn't know about that statement from Gunn, this only gives way more hope that he will make something very good with Superman 2025, it's a simple thing but very important to understand
As a kid, I used to find Superman lame because I thought I used to think he was too OP and too perfect, but as I grew older and bothered to read Superman's comics and the first movie, I started to feel great respect for him for the same reasons I grew fond of Ultraman (the Japanese silver giant, not the earth 3 supes), the powers are cool and all, but what made them both great is that they use their powers to protect us because they love us, flaws and all, and want us to be our better selves.
Glad to hear a defense of Lois too. People forget that she's actually a legitimate fighter and has military training thanks to her father and the fact that she grew up around the military.
People tend to forget her dad's a general in the army in Justice League Dark Apokolipse War when she sucker punches Harley Quinn when Harley asks her "Nice hit where'd you pick that up?" Lois: "I'm army brat" so her dad obviously taught Lois how to protect herself.
People will hate on anything if it’s popular enough. That’s why they’ll call Superman boring, call Wonder Woman irrelevant or weak, and call Batman a facist or complain about him not killing people while at the same time accusing him of killing people. There are very few genuine critiques of these characters, because 90% of the backlash is fueled by contrarians who just wanna feel special, so they’ll just parrot the most nonsensical schizophrenic arguments of all time.

The modern canon characterization of Batman only beats on anyone like that when they're armed or if they're threatening serious harm to innocents.
I admittedly never had that much of an opinion on superman But I just started getting why he's so loved. He gave me hope There was a comic that I found out about where Superman was talking to a jumper and she made him promise that he wouldn't catch her after giving her some time to think. when she decided to come down after hours, a firefighter/police asked if he'd really not catch her; and we didn't see superman's face just the reaction of the officer. And the starman videos
The funniest thing is that so many braindead people were condition to assume Goku and Superman are so opposite to one another into the point of forever enemies in fiction but in reality they're a lot more alike than ever, hell they basically have the same origin story for crying out loud lol The only big difference is that one is the archetype of Western superhero fiction while the other is the archetype of anime pop-culture fiction. THEY'RE BOTH THE MOST INFLUENTIAL CHARACTERS IN FICTION MEDIA EVER MADE. Like why do we put most of our efforts into making them fight each other all the time? Why couldn't we just appreciate how cool they are and being the biggest catalysts for new/modern universes & characters that we know now? Sometimes I wish there's a holiday for them to celebrate that.
This video popped up on my feed and have I say THANK YOU! Superman and captain America are my favorite superheroes who get a lot of hate that they don’t deserve. This was a great video that I’m subscribing!
Ironically enough I think superman needs a "dark knight" movie in the way that superman and his villain have philosophical battle over a character (this time however superman should win)
Sometimes we see that starman waiting in the sky. Thinking he's going to blow our mind. But really he's really there to lend his hand. To make us understand That he's really just kind. That's our Superman
One of the most important aspects of Superman's character is his humanity despite being from another planet, as well as his compassion and how he acts as a symbol of hope. Yet despite all that, his haters constantly ignore that and claim he's flat and boring.
Video idea: characters that need to be in the new dcu. Dc hates and disrespects the justice league dark Dc hates and disrespects superboy Worst opinions on green lantern Dc comics that need to be adapted part 2
Superman is one of the main influences in my life, he is one of the examples that make me who I am today, helping others, no matter who, without wanting anything in return, nowadays, in a world surrounded by hate, altruism and kindness in its purest form has become something strange, or even outdated, which makes me think that Superman is even more necessary today, this guy makes me get out of bed and say: "today I will be better than yesterday", this character is without a doubt the greatest example of all time, he is kind, respectful and innocent, this guy has the ability to shape a man's character, and also his personality, in my case at least. He's not dated, he's not boring, and never will be.
I don’t get the hate. The “he’s boring” argument is such a basic b**ch opinion at this point. He’s far more relatable than Batman. I don’t know about you but I’m not a billionaire orphan with deep trauma who’s also the smartest man in the world. But Superman has a day job with deadlines and a boss breathing down his neck, relationship problems, and parents he constantly ask for guidance. And almost all the complaints they have for Superman can be applied to other heroes. Most of the Justice League is also OP and other “boyscout” characters like Captain America and even Spider-Man don’t get called boring for that.
You ever notice it's the same people who complain about superman being too over powered that over hype how strong their favorite shounen anime character is.
The issue isn't his morals, it's his inconsistent levels of power. At one point he's lifting the Universe and brushing off multiversal spells and the next he's worrying about Lex Luthor and the Joker. He had Kryptonite for a while, but comics are making him resistant to THAT too. Superman has no weaknesses and thus, no stakes. He's more so a powerscalers wet dream than a character we're meant to care about. Being a "boyscout" won't cut it, neither would being all gloomy like batman if that's what Superman was instead.
Superman will forever be my goat I really hope the new movie shows non believers what i see in superman I dont need to see him get bitched out by kryptonite for the millionth time, i wanna see full strength superman. One thing that bugs me about justice league stories is they treat him as the best of anyone and unbeatable, but any story where that aspect isnt the focus hes getting bodied instantly so he cant just solo the entire story. I think superman being the most powerful or one of in any given story is important because the point is he uses every ounce of his time and energy for good.
I've grown to like Superman, my first exposure was TAS and Reeves... both goated and showed proper 'humility'. That wich is scarce in our current lives 😵💫
Superman is far from my favorite superhero. I'll take watching/reading something about Goku, Batman or the X-Men first. But I do find the Superman slander mind-numbing stupid. "Superman is boring" just because he doesn't wear blackish-colors and/or doesn't kills people and/or f**ks all the time. "Superman is too op" because he isn't constantly fighting new bigger and stronger foes every other moment. "Superman isn't relatable" because he's not showing to be a constantly angry teenager and/or isn't seen abusing his powers in large scale.
While Superman is powerful, I feel like people forget just how powerful the rest of the league is. For instance, in the original lineup, you have… -a guy who can run so fast he can travel through time -a Demi goddess with enough strength and durability to go toe to toe with Superman, plus centuries of training, and armed to the teeth with magical weapons -a guy who has a ring that allows him to make whatever he wants out of solid green constructs and is only limited to his imagination -a Martian who has super strength, shape shifting, telepathy, can phase change, fly, heal, and other stuff that I am probably forgetting, whose only weaknesses are an addiction to Oreos and a phobia of fire. -the king of Atlantis who while in the water is strong enough to go toe to toe with Superman -and finally a guy who is apparently the smartest man on earth, who dresses like a bat, and has so much plot armor, that he can apparently beat everyone listed above despite being a human
Them all being overpowered makes some sense when you remember that the focus of the Silver Age at DC was writing science fiction for kids, with certain little bits of real science in the mix. Every character had to be on the level of a natural force. Can’t have that caption telling kids what the speed of light is without Flash or GL or Superman traveling at the speed of light.
@@AdamYJ nevertheless, the point is that Superman doesn’t carry the Justice League. He is widely accepted as its most powerful member, but that far from makes the other members pushovers
The fact that Batman got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame before Superman, even though Superman was the first comic book hero on paper and on screen, is ridiculous. Put some respect on the *Starman.*

The cartoon My Adventures With Superman is a great version of Superman recently. It shows how he can be humanized despite his great power. It also showcases his supporting cast and villains very well and some in new lights. Often time a superheroes supporting cast is just as important as the hero themselves. Look at the original Spider-Man. Stan the man Lee knew how important a supporting cast is.

The hate because people these days have a twisted sense of “justice” while Superman is essentially the archetype hero of justice. Even in a dark world, Superman does his best to remain with the light.
I remember a time when the general public thought that Captain America was corny and weak, then a little indie film called Winter Soldier changed their opinion of him back in 2014. Now he has mad respect. Superman has yet to get his equivalent of a Winter Soldier. I mean, sure, he has Superman and Lois on the CW right now, but not a lot of people outside of the DC fan base even now about it. Sadly, big movies get more buzz than shows on the CW. And let’s be real, most folks who watch the movies, who are not comic book geeks, are probably never gonna read the comics because they don’t know where to start, and because they don’t want to read. Period. Bottom line, James Gunn’s Superman needs to do for the character what 2014’s Winter Soldier did for Cap. The court of public opinion needs to get a software update when it comes to Superman.
Personally I partly agree, but honestly, leaning into the character's strengths from throughout the decades can make various types of stories. It's a little narrowminded of the general consensus that Superman can only be written a certain way, when Batman has countless different cartoons leaning into different sides of him, when Spider-Man has enough variations to make Spider-Verse movies. Superman has as much variety as the Superhero genre itself. You just got to tell a good story with his strengths but that can be executed in so many ways. Literally could see Superman star in countless various genres of anime, Slice of Life, Magical Girls, Shounen, Seinen, Comfort, Psycholigcal thrillers, horror, Isekai, you name it, Superman's done it in some form or fashion, it's just waiting to be modernized and reimagined. Metropolis' tagline is Anything Can Happen. Superman CAN be grounded, be cookie cutter so we can enjoy his brand of weirdness, but it can be so much more as well. I can literally see an entire magazine of manga being made with very distinctive stories from one another while ALL revolving around Superman's mythos.
Honestly "Superman dismantles Brianacs galtic empire" By using his full strength ie moving stuff up to solar systems to finnally give him a fair fight that would be epic... But no we can't becuase he must never use all his strengh becuase "that isnb't the point" Like the guy ended WW2 in one page in the middle of the war by just using Homelander's power set... Like all he did was fly over there so fast nothing could notice then break though the roof of the rich's comsary or what ever grabed hitler and took him to the US... This was written during the war but still he didn't even use anyything he normally doesn't but still ended WW2 becuase he could... To my knowledg no other hero has never done anything like that even cap prefer to farm Nazis for EXP and not you know win or anything... So yeah if it isn't the point then explain why wasn't that a great story? Which if everyother hero can use their powers why can't superman? Like the Flash can reset the multiverse but Superman can't toss the solar systems around to win interstaller wars?

Superman is supposed to represent hope, NOT power, he doesn’t win because he’s just strong, he’s powerful, but he’s written in such a way that I actually cannot find a genuine reason to hate his character. However, fans saying how powerful he is in certain debates is pretty much warranting hate thrown his way in regards to his power. Putting him up against any character while cool just gets boring after a long time of this without really understanding the purpose of this character. Goku, a character who loves fighting, realistically will never throw a punch at Superman, and Superman wouldn’t fight someone who isn’t a villain, this dude would make friends with his opponents instead of fighting them depending on who he’s “put up against.” I genuinely love Superman as a character, and to see him bogged down to a combatant is a disgrace. Superman will always be the symbol of hope, I would love to see the day where Superman is seen as the symbol he stands for.
I honestly don't get the "he always wins" or "no bad guy defeats him" mentality because that just doesn't make sense. Especially for the ongoing structure of the Big 2 IPs. Are you telling me you read a Batman book and are expecting anyone, I don't care which rogue it is, to be able to put the Bat down? We do know they're going to win right? We do know its not about the struggle its about HOW they come back? Because yeah there are expectations but they're never permanent like Darkseid Omega Sanctions Batman, Batman not only doesn't die just goes back in time and travels to the present through time. An that's the story how he overcomes the time displacement, not the being dead part. Also it would not be more realistic for someone to have these gifts and be like Homelander. That's straight up cynicism.

Unpopular Opinion: I want to see a Superman and Goku crossover in the comics where it starts both of them being sparring partners. I know that Death Battle did it, but I want to see DC’s writers take *(who knew both of them based on source material)* and do it for several issues.
I used to hate Superman because my exposure to him was really the synder version depicting him as nun but a powerhouse. Then I saw Justice League (2001), My adventures with Superman, and discovered TH-camrs who covers him throughly, making me slowly love him because I realized he’s not an edgy person only there for his powers, but a regular guy like me who so happens to have amazing powers but still goes through the same things I do & has a great sense of morality because there are ppl like that.

Hot Take: Captain America kinda stole Superman’s whole flow as the “Boy Scout” superhero Almost everything Cap stands for is literally what Superman has already stood for all Cap did was add a country to the label
I don't think this is a hot take, pretty sure Superman was created before Cap but a lot of people don't even think about the dynamic because they just watch movies not follow lore and comic history.
Not a hot take, film generally pushes the public’s perception of a character. Superman got publicly shitty films (I thought some were decent) with an overall false characterization while cap embodied the boy scott/fight for what’s right role in his movies. While Superman had about 3 mediocre appearances within the past decade, cap has had 3 solo movies with 4 avengers appearances, with all stellar performances by Chris Evans. Even though Superman used to be miles ahead of Cap in popularity, films push the main narrative of these characters in today’s society🤷🏾♂️.
I find that Goku gets away with being insanely powerful because “training”. Show that a character turned OP from doing push-ups or sitting under a waterfall, and some people eat it up. Just have someone have powers and people treat it like a cop-out. I’d also like to point out that sometimes when Superman does win against a less powerful foe, it might not even be that much of a win because of how different the villain’s mindset is. Like the Prankster. He’s way less powerful than Superman. And he mostly just succeeds in outmaneuvering him a bit and causing a mess Superman has to clean up. But it doesn’t matter to the Prankster. He doesn’t care if he goes to jail. What he cares about is that people paid attention to his “performance”. And Superman can’t just ignore him if he’s causing trouble.
Kindness, altruism, and goodwill would certainly make Superman stand out today amongst all the gray, I agree. Unfortunately, these traits are seen as naive, boring, and unrealistic to the cynicism of today, but fine, let me be naive, boring, and unrealistic then.

As a teengaer I loved anti heroes YA novels, manga like Berserk shonen anime, edge, and outlandish things. Or whatever interested me back in the day. Now as a young adult now I've grown to appreciate things that suriprised me and one of those things is Superman now. Even though I enjoyed Omni-man and Homelander they will never replace Superman and no Evil Superman is better than Superman, because without him none of them would exist. Superman is a symbol of a better tomorrow and he represents the good of mankind. Got made fun of by a teacher and student who thought Superman was too boring. They enjoyed Batman, Spiderman, or the X Men for how their stories are more relatable than Superman. Even though Superman is the one who defined the genre and he is relatable to immigrants or people in nature. After seeing Superman saving a jumper I feel so moved by the art and message of Superman. Now older me wants to understand Superman media now. Even though Superman is a fictional character I would say sorry for doubting a pure good person like him, a pure good we need more than ever in this modern world that thrives on cynicism. Superman gives us hope and inspires us to be the best we can be.
I think Grant Morrison said “Superman has the same problems as any of us, just on a bigger scale. If he has to walk he dog, he walks him around the astro belt because it can fly” and I love that And you go on to mention the quote in the video, nice
I've literally seen people say that Batman is a better character than Superman because he's human and Superman's powers make him unrelatable. So, an orphan billionaire who's a master at every martial arts is a relatable character just because he's human?
I feel like the public sees Superman as "automatically got it" guy, and some writers do depict him that way. But it's so much more interesting to me to think of Clark in that, even though he knows he's strong and tough as hell on Earth, he could be nervous every time he ventures out into space to fight something, because there's every chance that there's a trillion beings out there more powerful than him, but he goes anyway. Every time. Because he feels it's his responsibility. Superman is written now as being all-knowing as to how vast his power is, and he's had so much experience in the farthest reaches of space that he knows it all, and that IS boring. Even if WE know that Clark can always rise to succeed in any situation, HE doesn't need to know that, and shouldn't be written that way. He should ALWAYS be amazed and grateful when he wins.
I like Supes, but his fans--well, fanboys, at this level--annoy with the whole "people don't acknowledge his powers and he is supposed" while in the EXACT SAME BREATH shitting on his actual physical peers, Captain Marvel and the Wonder Woman. Then both Supes and Cap fans shit on WW.
All im saying is. My superman would see a person breaking down because they cant pay rent for the month and sit down and talk with them to make sure they're okay for at least one more day. He's the guy who wanted to do good, found out he had the power to do good, and had enough self control to use his power to ONLY do good. Hes an IDEAL, a SUPERHERO. Is it realistic to have someone be EXACTLY LIKE superman? No, but he's not there to make you feel inadequate as a human being. He's there so you can look at yourself and go, yeah, I SHOULD DO AND BE BETTER. Its why him and spiderman are my Goats for superheroes.
I was so focused on Snyder ruining Batman, that I didn’t realize he was ruining Superman as well! But when finding out and reading “Superman smashes the Klan” comic adaptation, my man moved right up next to Batman as a character I love!
The main issue I've noticed is that people focus too much on the SUPER instead of focusing on the MAN, and by people I mean both the audience and the movie makers. I think Zack Snyder has to be applauded for giving us a superman that felt like an unstoppable force in the big screen, but he wasted so many opportunities to explore clark's humanity that it hurts. I always found it odd in man of steel to have Zod have a debate about genocide with Jor-El's ghost instead of having such debate with superman. Or not have superman try to talk zod out of fighting during their last duel since they were both the last children of krypton. Call me old fahioned, but I've always believed superheros are supposed to inspire us to be better and that's what superman embodies. The best of humanity despite its flaws. And that's also why the best stories o character arcs are always about how far his morality and self control can be pushed and how he stands his ground on what he believes is the right thing to do.
I love Superman, he’s one of the best superheroes ever written and it’s a shame he’s hated on for dumb reasons. I never found him boring. I hope the new Superman movie is good and shows everyone who Superman truly is. A kind hearted good natured man who wants to help those in need despite having powers that no mortal possessed. The people who say Superman is boring or overpowered have never read a Superman comic in their lives!

@@turtleanton6539Because Goku fans are mentally retarded that's why

Bruh that's really how it be
@@faith4657tell me you haven't read superman without telling me you haven't read Superman.

The modern canon characterization of Batman only beats on anyone like that when they're armed or if they're threatening serious harm to innocents.
Batman and Superman are very misunderstood these days and I blame the DCEU for it. The DCEU destroyed DC's reputation.
I admittedly never had that much of an opinion on superman
But I just started getting why he's so loved. He gave me hope
There was a comic that I found out about where Superman was talking to a jumper and she made him promise that he wouldn't catch her after giving her some time to think. when she decided to come down after hours, a firefighter/police asked if he'd really not catch her; and we didn't see superman's face just the reaction of the officer.
And the starman videos
The funniest thing is that so many braindead people were condition to assume Goku and Superman are so opposite to one another into the point of forever enemies in fiction but in reality they're a lot more alike than ever, hell they basically have the same origin story for crying out loud lol
The only big difference is that one is the archetype of Western superhero fiction while the other is the archetype of anime pop-culture fiction.
I need a DC and DB crossover

I feel like a weakness superman is suppose to have is hes TOO nice and TOO naive, but since hes so powerful it makes up for that weakness.

He had Kryptonite for a while, but comics are making him resistant to THAT too. Superman has no weaknesses and thus, no stakes. While Superman is powerful, I feel like people forget just how powerful the rest of the league is. For instance, in the original lineup, you have…
-a guy who can run so fast he can travel through time
-a Demi goddess with enough strength and durability to go toe to toe with Superman, plus centuries of training, and armed to the teeth with magical weapons
-a guy who has a ring that allows him to make whatever he wants out of solid green constructs and is only limited to his imagination
-a Martian who has super strength, shape shifting, telepathy, can phase change, fly, heal, and other stuff that I am probably forgetting, whose only weaknesses are an addiction to Oreos and a phobia of fire.
-the king of Atlantis who while in the water is strong enough to go toe to toe with Superman
-and finally a guy who is apparently the smartest man on earth, who dresses like a bat, and has so much plot armor, that he can apparently beat everyone listed above despite being a human
Them all being overpowered makes some sense when you remember that the focus of the Silver Age at DC was writing science fiction for kids, with certain little bits of real science in the mix.
Absolutely. This needs to be said more.
Almost everything Cap stands for is literally what Superman has already stood for all Cap did was add a country to the label

Superman is too cool, especially in Public Enemies
Great writers and artists know how to make the most of Superman.
If he has to walk he dog, he walks him around the astro belt because it can fly” and I love that
And you go on to mention the quote in the video, nice
I've literally seen people say that Batman is a better character than Superman because he's human and Superman's powers make him unrelatable. So, an orphan billionaire who's a master at every martial arts is a relatable character just because he's human?
Lex Luthor’s hypocrisy in a nutshell.
I mean they both great characters with relatable qualities
No, Snyder fanboys sucks.

Superman/ Batman are my favorite fictional characters ever
I am so glad that I grew up with the LEGO Batman games. They really are a good introduction to the DC mythos.
Sort of on topic, but Superman's beyond outfit and his DNM threads are top notch.
People that say, Superman sucks, have never experienced genuine kindness in their life
